RE: MODEL TECH 2M REMEDY
DON LOWE did a study in RCM about 20 years ago about how to delay the onset of flutter we can't prevent it all together but only push it to a higher speed so if the plane won't go faster we controle flutter
There are warnings in the instructions about flutter why increse the chance of it happening

Really? At the risk of oversimplifying the issue: Real F-16s have thin trailing edges, and so do propellers and Q500/Q40/FAI pylon planes. How fast does a Remedy have to go to encounter flutter, and how much faster can it go with thicker trailing edges and not encounter flutter? Will we really enjoy the prevention of flutter on a pattern plane due to thicker TEs? How thick is thick enough? How do we know? Inquiring minds want to know? [8D]

RE: MODEL TECH 2M REMEDY
Lots of different theorys out there . . Pattern planes have had razor sharp TE's through to the current trend of thick TE's . . and flutter hasn't been a concern with any of them. Sealing the hinge gaps, correct linkage geometry and servo choice, is considered the appropriate method of handling flutter. 3D throws are a 'flutter' concern, particularly when using analog servos (not recommended), as small amounts of servo travel are used to control large surfaces for general flight (i.e. low servo resolution).
The attached pic is of Gerhard Mayr's own design . . it finished 5th at the World Champs, so I guess thick TE's work as intended for him. Definitely most new F3A designs do not have thin TE's and the rudders are surprisingly thick.
I would just build it as it is, and wouldn't bother sanding the TEs down . . doubt you would notice any difference in flight.
Cheers, JB

RE: MODEL TECH 2M REMEDY
Do you guys think that an OS FS200S will match this plane?
I can get one from Lindinger (Austria) at €179. Offers usually do last only a few days in Lindinger.

These ''gimmicks'' are just another way to get your attention. As I have said before, no matter what you come up with or do to your plane, ''you still gotta fly it!'' Regards___TNWalker

Gerhard Mayr DID fly his Osiris well, Some people had commented that his style was the the most accurate of the worlds.
Gimmick? Could be....

Renegade, Gerhard Mayr has the "ability" I spoke of earlier AEB his showing at the World's. Years ago, I witnessed a
14 yr old, by the name of Chip Hyde, wear out a number of so called F3A flyers with an airplane that you or I would characterize as a POS by today's standards.. So, this is what I am talking about! Natural Ability. Regards___TNWalker

Renegade, let me also add, there is a young F3A flyer by the name of Joe Szczur here in the US that is one of the best current examples of what we speak of. He, like his Dad, has the Natural Ability. Joe will be a force to reckon with in the
near future. BTW, he is not the only one. There are several really young flyers throughout the ranks that are currently
doing "surgery" on someone, somewhere at a contest as we speak! Regards___TNWalker

RE: MODEL TECH 2M REMEDY
Go vertical,
Thank you for your quick answer.
Modeltech recommends a Magnum FS 120, which weigths only 3-4 oz. less than the OS 200.
I am in doubt about the muscle of the Magnum for such a two meter plane.
If, as you say, the OS will fit on it, I´ll order my Remedy immediately, hoping that the extra weight will still allow good flight performances.
I´ll let you know about the results.
For sure she will go vertical as a rocket!

aandreas
putting a tuned pipe on a 2stroke engine is going t be very diffacult as you can see the drop from the exaust port to the pipe chanel is 3in. so it will require a custom header I don't want to go that rout

the hardware for the controle horns for this plane is junk I will change it to more sturdy hardware what they supply is only about 4-40 realy light for a plane this size
