quote]i have 3/4 gallon through mine and lots of power but still problem with the dying after a hspass or jumping. i called hpi and they said that the lsn and msn might need adjusting. i am at a loss for now. i was messing with yesterday but i still havent figured it out. i am getting really irritated with it.i wonder if its possible if theres a leak on the carb?[[/quote]

What's happening here is a tuning issue. You need to spend some time after the engine is warmed up and tune the engine. Your needle settings are off. A leaking carb will in most cases cause your engine to run overly hot.

A good thing to do is to seal your engine to enable you to rule out air leaks from any tuning issue you may run into.

OK guyz put another 1/4 gallon through it today and it seems fine ran two tanks flat out over jumps and straight line
I did change the plug for a colder one and also put some nylon stocking material in place of the air filter (the nylon was the girl friends).
so my next question is whats the maximum gearing this engine will take without losing to much top end i want to get maximum acceleration will the Savage gearing fit .
The Nubz are awesome major difference in response.

Mine smokes alot under hard acceleration, but runs well. I wonder if I could lean it out more. WHen I check the temps at the head, they are in the 210-220 range, I may do a bit more, especially the medium speed settings.

scuuuba.
the v spec is by far a better motor than the stock motor that comes weith the hellfire.
now there are other motors out there too.
if you ask 16 different people which motor is the best you will gwt 16 different answers.
you will have to decide which is best for you.
i haave two of the v spec engines and a couple of the guys i run with have them and they like them.
also some like the nova rossie engines.
it comes down to you pays your dollar and you makes your choise.
some people love the v spec and some people swear at the v spec
go figure.

thx Dirby.

I have the v spec and its unreal. i just got in my JP Mod B5N which is a novarossi. I cant even begin to describe what this thing does. It awesome has more of a liner, very smooth acceleration, extremely easy to tune, and it has more torque than the V spec. besides I know several that have 7 gallons plus in theres with plenty of pinch left. So Im gonna try it out as well. I also know that the V spec like the JP1 pipe a whole lot better than the JP2.

First off, NITROSENSE: That is a sweet lookin Hellfire! I need some aluminum like that for mine. So, here's a question, who's gonna be the first to make aluminum front and rear A-arms? THAT is what I need. Anyways, my real question for everybody is this: My steering servo jitters every once in a while. Especially if I have the truck in the air and I turn the wheel back and forth, then let it re-center. It's not the stock servo either, it's a steel geared Futaba, I don't remember the model number. So what do I do? Buy another one, or can I fix it? Thanks to all who respond to my problem!

AfroThunder - I would say your problem isn't your servos but the Crappy stock reciever and, radio. It is AM and, not a very clear/Clean signal. FM radios/Recievers are much cleaner even the lower end ones! = Very little glitching and, possiblity of runaways!

why would anybody want a three speed in there truhhy?
most tracks don't have enough space to realy get to second gear let alone third gear befire they have to back off and make a turn.

You already sais what v spec to get.. Its the Vzb .21 v spec. The only modification you will need it to bevel the purple engine plate with a dremel and use a flat cutting wheel to do so. This allows the front of the crank case of the engine to sit level. If you dont do this it will hit the engine plate and not sit level.

The Mugen MBx5 mount will work. You will either need to drill the holes for the mount or buy the CF towers that already have the holes for the mugen wing.
