Spikeitaudi - Its an XRay Diff gasket - part no 355090. Goes between the diff case and crown gear, so you could leave the O-Ring on just to sure! I havent done mine yet, so i cant say if it works, but for a couple of quid its got to be worth a try.

Guys, I am trying to decide on a Losi 8T, Mugen MBX5T or the Ofna Hyper ST pro. The hyper is cheaper than both the others which is important to me as I need to buy my son one as well. My only concern is if you will be at a disadvantage on the racetrack. Can you guys comment and help me make the final decision. I have heard that the losi 8T breaks a lot more, which has me currently shying away from that one. Any help appreciated.

i have had the hyper a few months now and love it. i have driven a mugen and it too is tough, but if something does break get ready to spend some money. the hyper shares parts with the hyper 7, and parts for that are cheep and everywhere. the new parts are cheep too, amain has 'em if you need any. i haven't broken anything yet, just lost a tooth on a bevel gear and let my bearings expire. the handling is awesome, it turns inside all other truggies, i've done it all day long, it jumps and lands great too. weight has come up as a issue with it but my 21's had no problem keeping the tires ballooned and the truggy flying. jeremy kortz has done some weight reduction tricks on his and is doing well with it. remember, the initial purchase is only 1/20th of what you'll spend all together on the hobby.

I have been building my shocks and have found that two of the shock ball heads dont fit into the shock caps as well as the other two do. Looking in the manual I see that there are two different part codes for the front and rear shock caps, but I guess that is because they are bundled with the shock body?

Has anyone else had this? Should they all fit in the same?

Cheers
Anyone? Should all the shock caps fit the same?

I think they have two part numbers cos they are sold with the shock bodies, and they are different lengths therefore different part numbers

Another trip to the LHS then.........

Just curious what is the difference in performance between the spider differential and the regular? is it even noticeable? or is it more of a durability thing?

Spikeit. Lets take one apart and see if my diff gaskets match up? I have plenty of spares if they do?

Spikeit - Just put the gasket in the rear diff - fitted perfectly! Just make sure you put it between the crown gear and bevel gear.

I pray this solves my ongoing headache with leaky diffs!

Jerzferno sounds good. Maybe after our little track adventure on Friday if weather permits.

Droidswarm thanks for the info.

do they leak cold or only after running? if so they may be overfilled.

Mine leak cold. Sitting on the starter box. Also noticed it leaking when running as it was under the bulks on the chassis.

Just recently finished my ST Pro build, still running the engine in, but so far it rocks! First new rc car in a LONG time! I bought my savage n revo second hand, so it was good to get back too building a kit! Engine is a Go .28 3 port with some radical mods done to it including boring out the carb and the inlet timing advanced over 30 degree's!(plus it has my name on it!! first of its kind!) Brutal coming onto the pipe, but still has plenty of torque. Only 6 tanks on it so far, it will be lifting the front in another tank or two. Any way here's some pics

Pro and RTR Comes with the same exact hyper 7.5 Radio box. The Hyper 8.5 box is a well known mod that alot of us have done to enclose the battery and reciever.

yeah i read this thread and bought the hyper8 radio box, also got a hyper8 engine mount, but that doesnt really fit its mount holes are to wide, so Ive fitted half the hyper8 engine mount and the other half is hyper ST! I also fitted a Dynamite Pro throttle/brake set up, n something else that I cant remember!

Finally got time this past weekend to take the Hyper ST to the track. The OS 21V-spec is awesome. Had an insane amount of power. The OEM dogbone tires were ok on my track, but I think the Crimefighter that I will be getting will work better. All in all very impressed with the turning and jumping ability of the Hyper ST. The Hyper just feel very balanced in all aspects. Loving it and can't wait to compete with it.

wait till you have about a minute left in a main and are fighting for position with less than a minute to go and you turn inside them 3 times in a row and pass them clean. best turning truck ever, and i'm still working on some mods while track is down and motors are in the big brown truck.

anyone notice the truck can turn more to the right than to the left? the ackerman bar hits the servo saver at full left, hint hint. also shortening the knuckle arms and c-hubs.

Are the Hyper 7's those weired nice looking CNC'd ones.? I wanna get a set of those, but im not sure if they'll fit or not.

My LHS has a set of the 8.5 which we were trying to fit on, they dont ( Anyone want a set of hubs for the 8.5 PM me ).

And tried getting the chassis brace from the 8.5 to fit today, again, no luck, I can either run a chassis brace, or a center diff, Id rather run the center diff to be honest .

I also noticed that ive bent my front right CVD [&:] , I have absoloutely no idea how the hell I did that.

Off to the LHS tomorrow, again.!

Lord, racing is expensive []
