Guys my starter box isnt working anymore [&:]

It just refuses to move, batt's are fully charged and everything.

Are the motors burnt out.? I used it and it started the engine just fine, and when I came back it just refused to budge.?

Any Ideas.

Thanks..

Lift the lid up on your starter box and check the connections the touch when you press you lid down to start your truck. I melted mine 3 times trying to start my Picco.

Ive just checked ALL the conncections. Still no go.!?

Ive tried using my stick packs and 4 differient gel cells. Still nothing.

My connections are fine, I think..

But the electricity is not going through.

I mean before when I used to press down, there used to be a quick spark and then the motors would fire ( Spark was where the Plate on that thing you press down meets those other two terminals ) and now theres nothing []

Anyone know what could be the cause. Please dont tell me my starter box's gone bust [:@]

And the motors werent that hot, only the wires were a bit and thats it.

Thanks..

Where you said you had the spark and that plate that meets the terminals is where I was talking about. You should have a tab on each side (one for each terminal) check that they are not bent down or melted in the plastic. They are probably not touching.
Just saw the pic. The one on the left side is melted and the tabs are bent down like I said. Disconnect the battery and bend them back up and see. There is also a piece of plastic on top of the tab you have to scrape off.

Just keep an eye on it. If you are still having problems with turning the motor over it might happen again. Like I said I did what you just saw 3 times. Whenever the starter box does not turn the motor over and you keep trying to, it gets hot and then THAT happens.

Lord.

Thanks guys.

Now I know what to keep an eye out for.!

I just need to get a new 12V battery lead to connect it. Mine seems to have destroyed itself [&:]

Just charging up all my bats, gotta hit the track tomorrow, will stop by the LHS and get a set of new leads and probably an extra terminal.

Thanks again everyone, was SO relieved that I didnt wreck my box.!

The race was cancelled due to Hobby Center being idiots again. They refused to let us use the transponders so there was no go.

What do you mean refused to let you use the transponders??? In a race, you WANT to use them.

The race was being organised in coorperation with the ' Hobby Center ', and another LHS ( Name shall remain anon* ). The track was planned out, everything was set, all Hobby Center was supposed to do was supply the transponders, till Wednesday they said OK no problem. On Thursday morning they call up the other LHS and say that they will be un-able to do so.

This isnt the first time that's happened, its an on-going battle with them. All the deposit's were re-funded and we just bashed. We're working on getting a set specifically for the track and leaving it there, but finances are tight and the track is not owned by specifically anyone, so that's why we are not really looking into throwing too much money in there, because NO one knows how long the track will be there for. Its just on public property and yeah,
