You sure got that right, especially landing this maverick!! We took the spats etc off and went up on the lg wire dimeter. have NOT found the correct landing set-up yet! Did I mention 'kopfstands' several months back? Such a sweetie in the air and such a b@#%&
landing! Enjoy, alan and Merry Christmas!

Hey Hook, it lokks kind cool with the pants and billows of. Gives it a figter apperance. I may try that on rough landing days. Your bird looks great. Mine will be done in a matter of weeks. I hope..... still waiting on my horizontal stab. landing wire aand some other odds and ends.
I am concidering doing a semi scale exhast(not functional from the engine). To get more air through the cowl as I will be using a RCV 120 SP. I thought if the fake pipes that come out the side should serve a purpose. Since the RCV neded extra cooling, this would help. Just some classy looking vents coming out the side. That 120 SP beast will need all the hlp he can get.

You guys may be interested in these. Get Stencils is offering a nomenclature set for the Stuka. Right now, it's sized for the Ziroli B2 version. The set has the nomenclature for both the B and D versions. It's a 5 color set. Months of research went in to it, and the set is very complete.

Gary, from Get Stencils, called me last night. He said thathe would be willing to size the nomenclature for use on the KMP Stuka, if there was interest.

I'm in now way associated with this firm, but I am interested in promoting good products for scale modelers.

rockz, several of us have been wondering the same thing. No luck yet. I would really like to know this before I get all the way done with mine.
Hey, did you have any major troubles with yours?

BBOwen, only trouble so far was push rods for elevator too big and binding, also didn"t trust method of connection so installed sullivan inners with 5"56 threaded rod each end and used sullinab 5'56 clevises. Also replaced throttle for dubro flexablewire setup.Had some trouble getting exhausts to stick[even after washing them}so used strips of 3 oz cloth.and 30 min epoxy.Saito 100 should be ample power, getting spinner turned to make up extra weight i'll need.Did this with my ME109 and i don't use any wieght but beware of gyroscopic forces on takeoff, plenty of right rudder.

Hookmut, how did you do your tailwheel dont like stock setup [if i could work out how it goes].Run up motor today[Saito 100]All servoes working, also another mod was to throw out the hinge blocks and use ali tube to support the hinge after drilling out elevaters and stabalizer[using robart hinges].Have used this on my 1/4 scale tiger moth with no mpoblems.

I too would like to see this. The suggested way is messy and I'm wondering if anyone has done anything else.

I've shelved mine for a while due to my disappointment with the quality and poor fit.

Hookmut,

How did you put on all the rivets? Also, what about using a gyro for the trail wheel steering control?

Oh, well I have come full circle with this plane about the engine. I have an RCV 120SP just about broken in. The sad thing is I am getting to the point that the burnt glow fuel fumes are really killing my sinuses. I may have to put a gasser in it after all or sell it and I don't want to sell it. A G20 is going to stick out all over the place. Kinda makes me sick.

Mine has a Eflight Power 110 electric motor in it, no fumes. Should get over 2.5 HP from it.

Hi,
Mine flies nicely with a venerable (older) YS-120, which does NOT emit great clouds of noxious exhaust. Have no familiarity with your RCV. Good luck with your dilemma!

Hookenut, did you ever modify your centre section or did you just replace it?

Have you had any trouble with the tailwheel in the location shown on the instructions?

I haven't even attempted it yet because I am not sure what to so about it. The manual looks like it was designed by a third grader. $575.00 doesn't get you much in some places.

Don't feel too bad, BB. The manual for the FW looks like it was put together by his younger brother. The one in Special ED! LOL
You're right. Wish KMP or YT, or whoever, woulsd spend a little time on their manuals...

Yes the manual is not worth having. As for the tailwheel the only way i could see it working was to cut off the extended yop secton and put the pivot on the centre line of the rudder hinge line and screw the plate onto the bottom of the rudder, this actually works quite well but looks rediculous with wheel hanging so far back.I"ll use it for the test flights however and redo it later on, had the same problem on the me109 and had to cut a hole in to the bottom fuselage to mount a scale and stronger tailwheel.

Does anyone know a good even semi-scale tail wheel? I would be willing to give a little on the scale part if there is a good tail wheel to replace it.
I have used Sullivan tail wheels in the pst but I am not sure how that big piece of plastic would look jutting off of the bottom of the plane.

If I do that I might as well go with a gas engine.

BB --
The KMP FW190 has the same issues re the tailwheel. Check the FW190 thread -- it's in the last few posts -- and take a look at what Terry did w/ a Dubro tailwheel on the FW. I'm going to do the same thing w/ mine.

Haven't flown it yet. I am waiting for my spinner, otherwise it's ready to fly. I am using Castle 110 HV ESC with two 4S 5000 mah packs in series to get 8S. Bench tests show 1545 to 1690 watts on the 8S pack, otherwise I can go to a 10S pack and get about 2000 watts. Should be plenty with either setup since the wing is huge and the loading is light.

Thanks man, my Stuka is on hold now till I can make up the finds to get the electric set up. I have decided this is the best course of action since I have sold all of my glow engines. A gasser was the only other option but it really wasn't an option since I would have had to destroy the cowl to get it in there. Thats just not a good thing with an expesive scale warbird.
I am kind of excited now because there will only be the one air exhaust hole in the back/bottom part of the cowl.

I was trying to scheme a way to make the canopy and the cockpit a one piece removable part for easy access to the batteries.
