RE: Advice needed Ultra Stick 60

Although I do not know how the Saito would go into a US 60 since I converted mine to electric, here's what I had to use when I mounted my Saito 125 on a Twist 60:

You'd need to get hold of a...

RE: *Hangar 9 New Pulse 125*

The Pulse is a very nice flying ARF ( I have the 40 version ) but IMO the 125 is somewhat overpriced for a sub-80-inch plane, especially in this recessionary times. This and the fact that is far too...

RE: The World models Extra 330L 60 Size

Hi all,

I got this plane since the overstock price is just too tempting to pass. The ARF quality is one of the best I've seen - certainly better than Hangar 9's which can be quite inconsistent....

RE: 2nd Plane Advice.

I have the Pulse 40 and although its a great easy flying plane its thin airfoil allows it to float and not slow down much making it a bit of challenge to land in short fields. It has a bit of...

RE: Nomadio FULL Range 2.4Ghz aircraft radio

I wish this was true - but in their infinite wisdom, Eagletree does not relay mAH information back from their telemetry module. THis is one set of info that I sorely miss when I fly 3D as I'd like to...

RE: JR X9303 vs. Futaba 10c

Speaking of being late to the Party...

Airtronics must be MIA..

Too bad.. there is certainly room for at least 3 big players..

RE: *New Hanger 9 Pulse XT 60*

There's a reason for the dihedral and its to keep it flying sweetly despite its low wing design. I can turn the Pulse at a crawl and it never drops a wing. Try that on a CAP 232! Newbs to low wings...

RE: DX7 Problems

The DX7 has been in use at my club for quite a while now. There is yet to be a single incident with the radio. This, plus the experiences of thousands of others seems to indicate that the system is...

RE: what to look for in a transmiter

There's really no compelling reason to stick with 72 mHz if you are starting out right now.

2.4 gHz is affordable now and getting cheaper.

Another thing is that gas engines are now getting...

RE: Second plane... need help

If you are considering a stick, I suggest going with the Ultra Stick over the Super Stick (cheap covering ) or the Big Stick ( tricycle LG ). I find the sticks more fun than the low wing sports...

RE: G3.5 Expansion Pack Wishlist

I'd like to see a true 3D-pattern hybrid. Great Plane's Venus lacks elevator authority to make it true hybrid. So far only Hangar 9 has a true hybrid in the Showtime, and OMP Fusion X3D is a true...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

There were a couple of comments a few msgs back about the Saito 125 and props.

I've experimented with a number just last week and keep coming back to the APC 16x6. I'm getting 9100 rpm on 15%...

RE: Hangar 9 Ultra Stick 60

I'm sure you'd enjoy it. There is a little version of the UltraStick - the Mini US that flies really well too if you put in 300W motor like the Park 480. I enjoy both the mini and the big stick....

RE: Hangar 9 Ultra Stick 60

So thats what it is - I fly my US60 electrified so its very quiet except for the jet like whine and was wondering what the heck that is. Other club members were saying its a cavitating prop - but I...

RE: Hangar 9 Ultra Stick 60

Its a great plane but make one mod. Toss the included tailwheel assembly which requires you to cut deep into the elevator spar to clear the plastic hinge.
Get a Sullivan steerable tailwheel...

RE: Which one is less forgiving?

Thanks for the notes. I'd certainly recommend the Calmato to club members looking for a low wing sports plane after they get tired of their trainers. You're right, I'm still flying the Pulse with...

RE: Which one is less forgiving?

Wow - the Calmato looked like an identical twin of the Tiger. Very nice. How do they compare in flight? I already have a low wing sports plane, the Hangar 9 Pulse XT. The Pulse XT is a relaxingly...

I have an EVOlution 46 NT. Have flown the past few gallons with 0 deadsticks - runs perfectly and always starts on the first bump with a chicken stick. Another club member also has great luck with...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Skillet, I doubt its the fuel. You don't seem to have a problem starting it - bad fuel usually is hard to start.

Almost always, when an engine dies when it is going from mid to full throttle -...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Did you test both engines using the same fuel tank setup. I suspect the plumbing - either air leaks in the main line, the muffler pressure line or the tank is placed too low relative to the carb...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks for the info. I think the little play is then normal. No, there is no movement on the prop driver.
Now as far as the gritty feel - I'm hesistant to say there is none - it does not feel...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I had a great weekend at the field with my 1.25 Saito powered Twist 60 - what a joy to fly with an engine with such an incredible throttle response. When I got home, I primed and lubed the engine...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

My Saito 125 suddenly became a lot more powerful after I had about 2 gallons through it. Its almost like a magical transformation. Its now turning an APC 16x6 at 9200 rpm with the HS needle about 2...

RE: Why overpower airplanes? A rant...

I'm having lots of fun with my Saito 125 powered Twist 60. I won't really call it overpowered as the Twist has 1000 sq inches of wing and a super fat airfoil - so its more like in the NICELY powered...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks - good to know that I'm not alone. No leaks when wet - and the power is awesome. Starts also on the first flick - so I won't worry about it.
I'm using CoolPower MV for 4 strokes. I think...
