Firstoff..... Congrats on converting your doorstop back into a power supply! I'm a fellow owner of a doorstop. Any chance you could share your repair notes, ie places to check for voltages? My PS...

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF

That's the first time I've ever seen that. Maybe you should send the wing and the mouse back to Horizon :D "The wing has some damage and there's this other part that's not in the manual anywhere, I...

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF

Hi all, I looked at the rudder on my prototype kit (pics at begining of thread) and the rudder is even worse. It had two 1/8" pin hinges and a CA hinge at the bottom. I think I'll be going to 3/16"...

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF

Here's a link to the video on Seagull's site, not very good but it's something to look at...... They're calling it the Harrier 50cc instead of the Bling.

RE: Extreme Flight E-YAK!!!

Hi all, I've got a Hacker A30-10L and X40 speed control laying around waiting for a plane. I was thinking the EF Yak would be about the right size and weight for a nice 3D setup? Motor is good for...

RE: Formula for finding out engine size

3.1416(Pi) times half of bore diameter squared times stroke all in inches for cubic inches or centimeters to get cc's
Example 20mm bore x 20mm stroke=2cmx2cm. 1/2 bore=1, 1 times 1 is 1. 3.1416...

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF

I'm thinking of going with the 4 servos, just because the mounting points are already there. They're off center, so you'd have to fab up a whole new mounting spot, hack up the covering etc? Probably...

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF

I purchased a prototype 50CC Seagull ARF ($185!) on Ebay a couple of weeks back and it appears to be in the same family as the new Bling. Has a glass canopy painted black, different colors, and the...

RE: 3Demon by Modeltech anyone?

Sorry to hear about that Mark, you just barely knew her. :( At least it's not too expensive and it's an easy build. I stand corrected on the gear, It is 5mm aluminum? rod, pretty stiff stuff and...

RE: 3Demon by Modeltech anyone?

Yes, serious about the Jett 76. It's the same size as an OS46 and a touch lighter. Swings an APC 14x4W at about 10,500, should be fairly quiet. Plus I've always wanted a Jett. I can always throttle...

RE: Blue Marble Oil

RCIGN1...good link, I found the thread and from what read his conclusion was to go with Bel-ray H1R and a 15% bigger fuel tank? It had less carbon buildup than the other oils. I've been using...

RE: Blue Marble Oil

Good link Av8tor! I wish they would tell which brands the other two oils were though. Seems like pennzoil helped them out with this test and their oils appear to perform very well. But I have to...

RE: Blue Marble Oil

I just looked on Pennzoil's site, looks like they're 2 different 2-stroke oils are both petroleum based. They probably still work fine, it would be interesting to see a formal test on a bunch of...

RE: Blue Marble Oil

Motul 800 2T, Motorex Crosspower 2T, Bel-Ray H1R are all premium ester based synthetic oils. The ester based oils are the most expensive, but provide excellent protection and a clean burn. I've used...

RE: gas fuel with glo plug no ignition

Forgot to mention that the glo engine was a Supertigre 3250, that only had 2 tanks thru it, hence the 20% oil. I didn't want to hurt it :) We have 200 proof pure ethanol at work for cleaning parts,...

RE: gas fuel with glo plug no ignition

Very interesting....... I've got a 61cc Husky that is now 68cc (268 top end bolts right on and the stroke is the same). I was going to do a C&H setup, but this looks like the way to go! What are you...

RE: Bridi Giant Dirty Birdy 2+2

Kits have come a LONG way since this one was originally designed. Try something like a Sig Cub or Herr kit, or any of the laser cut stuff. My first was a Telemaster 40 when I was 12, used elemers...

RE: Bridi Giant Dirty Birdy 2+2

That's what I've heard, are the ribs at least die-cut? I've built a half dozen or so kits, ready to jump to scratch building, sounds like this will be half way in between. I've read the Bridi kits...
