PVA=Poly Vinyl Alcohol so why we thinning with water? thin with denatured alcohol! after first part pulls good, Just use wax, couple of good coats each part & should be fine

the more layers the more crossed fibers hence strength resin alone is brittle the fibers give it strength. I like Matt instead of cloth

guys we always used the heavy fg cloth as a breather ove the entire part with a peal ply against the layup the cloth allows the suction to spread evenly accross the part & make sure the excess resin...

or you can bake your plaster plugs in oven for awhile at 200 degrees & as stated by ED above make sure of no undercuts/reverse Tapers I have seen many a good mold/plug ruined by undercuts
