Como

Am interested in the blue Como in the box next to the K&B; I live in lancaster and can drive there if that works for you, thank you.

Von Hammer, great stuff. I was of the impression at the time that World engines(Indy RC) sold the rights to Hobbico(there I said it) was because of the passing of John Maloney. Is this correct?

RE: What is wrong with people in the marketplace?

I have always understood that once you buy something new from mail order or retail, it loses roughly 30% in value. When it becomes a collector, I guess it's whatever the market will bear. There...

RE: Large scale EX 300 and ST3250 motor?

The large ST's are good large cubic inch powerplants. They aren't real heavy breathers, nor are they high performance, just good all around prop swingers. For instance, I would take the OS 1.4 RX...

RE: Enya 90-4C Limited Reproduction

I'm not totally sure here so correct me otherwise but I think the Enya R-1.20 was the big game until the YS 1.20 NC came along. I have an R-1.20 and he is a great performer.

RE: Enya 90-4C Limited Reproduction

The Enya 90 and 1.20 are great engines. Heavy, yes, not unlike the Rossi; built to last as well as being outstanding performers.

RE: OS 40 FSR

Hi Mike; I'm curious about where your balance point is on your Hot Kanary. I ask because I have one and would like to get him back in the air again(I built him back in 1988). If I remember, he was...

RE: Large scale EX 300 and ST3250 motor?

I love my ST's, but the larger ones really are truck engines. Go with Moki or gasoline.

RE: Resurrecting a Duellist 2/40

I've not tried a Sig Kougar canopy on the duellist, but I think it might be worth a try if they are still available. In fact, I think I'll see for myself, since the canopy has a raised frame...

RE: Calypso cowling

I dorked up my Calypso some time back, but he was repairable. I found the Sig 16" teardrop canopy to work very well; you will need to set him in place and figure out how much of the nose and back...

RE: Ryan STA/STM Brotherhood

I need some input here. I acquired a GP YPT-16 and he was set up for use with an OS 91 FS. I am thinking of a 1.20 but I could use some ideas on power plant here. Also, are there any negative...

RE: MK Cosmos project

I found out that Staples will copy plans. If they can put them on a disc, would that be the PDF format? I'm not savvy on this stuff.

RE: Gotta Love Them OS Guys

I second Buzzard's P.S. It's true, if you can tune a Cox engine, you can tune any engine. I like OS but I think they like feeling their oats just a little too much.

RE: Where do Stats come from?

I used to trust the published stats until MAN did a 60 size engine shootout, sometime in the 90's and the no name brands came out on top. ST and OS also had identical numbers which I found...

RE: Sig King Kobra Build

If I remember, the RCM article on the KK pictured the plane with a Saito 120. It looked so out of place with that big 4 stroke jug sticking out of the nose.

RE: Seagull ARF Planes

I got a Seagull Laser 200 and read where it was made (in Vietnam). Don't know if that would have an impact, but it got my attention. The ship is very well made.

RE: Twin nitro engine syncronizing gizmo?

The best thing to use is an on board glow plug lighter. I would set him up to a toggle switch; when you take off or land, you keep the plugs lit.
