RE: Wing tube failure at center due to holes drilled in tube

It seems to me from reading all the post and watching them at the field, that the large R/C aircraft have more failures than the standard size. I’m beginning to wonder if the AMA should limit the...

RE: 60's/70's Pattern Ships

The Lanier Jester is a great flying 70s vintage aircraft. The first one I had in the 70s was powered by a Veco 61. This is number four.

RE: Mode 1 or Mode 2

Dirtybird, that’s good! The best logic so far!!! Fly Mode II, fly better and live longer. I was wondering why all the Mode I flyers were dieing off? Now I know! I will never touch a Mode I TX...

RE: The art of Sequencing

How about an override so the main doors can open when the aircraft is parked on the ramp? As a recall the F-86 and F-J doors would fall open when the system hydraulic pressure dropped off. Same...

RE: Show me your...

Daniel,

Living in Atlanta it’s got to be a C-130. They fly base leg all the time right over my house landing at the AFB. How about four little tribunes for power? Do you fly at the Cobb...

RE: Short field Advanced Trainer?

That’s an easy one – the Tower Big Stik 40. Ugly but flys great with a 46 or 53. Would be perfect for your flying area and at your field. It’s one of those fun aircraft that everyone enjoys....

RE: Mode 1 or Mode 2

No prejudice and bias here, just the facts! How are you all doing flying your helicopters on Mode I?

RE: Low Wing 40 size plane?

Yes, the fuselage is narrower and has a rounder top. The engine is side mounted and enclosed by the fuselage. The wing does not have the back edge of the wing tip cut off and the elevator and...

RE: First Turbine flight Help

Al,

Ralph was a great guy and a super supporter of our R/C hobby. I’m sure if he was still with us he would be flying a super fast turbine and he would have the fastest one too. He was a...

RE: World Model Speed record???

Would we experience compressor stall or wing compressibility at the speed of sound? Isn’t the speed of sound a sea level only around 635 MPH?

RE: First Turbine flight Help

Sportflyer,

Unless you’ve been flying Mode I for a long time it might be more practical to switch to Mode II and retrain yourself. When I lived in the Northwest I knew a number of old Mode I...

RE: Mode 1 or Mode 2

I figured my post might spin up the some of the “old gray hairs” a little bit and I know that’s bad for their blood pressure! :-) I’m sorry about that, but as a R/C flyer that started in...

RE: Mode 1 or Mode 2

I fly mode 2 as my primary mode but I can also fly mode I and I have done so many times. Because I have flown both modes I can tell you that mode 2 is the best way to go. A few of the many...

RE: Mode 1 or Mode 2

Guys, 1:1 aircraft today are all mode 2? I fly mode 2 because it makes the flying much more precise just like the folks do with the 1:1 scale. I think the Wright 1903 Flyer was mode 1 but it...
