Since the underwater drag is bad anywhere most world record holders over a 100 miles per hour suggest thin sharp rudder blades like this on from spring steel to reduce drag and track bias. Nobody ever cut a pizza...LOL!

Since its CR twins why haven't you eliminated his ruder all together set his radio for paddle operation and run a circular skeg?

Since you are part of his and the JAGS team didn't you give him these experienced speed secrets you have to up their world records?.. because EXO's rudder is an Insane rudder.

Why would you want to send instead all those speed secrets 5000 miles away to me.??? Dont hide now that EXO is here tell us about your influence on the boats?

Regards
Hubert

"Hugh,

That's not a sine bar in the second photo. It's an electronic protractor, accurate to 1/10 of a degree. The thickness of any wedge shape at the leading edge was .010" of an inch. This included steel rudders, steel skid fins, & aluminum rudders. Careful rounding of the leading edge produces something that is sharp, but not sharp enough to cut your hand."
~JA~

This one of the last if not his last post on any rc forums. Its funny how people contradict themselves. He told you JA said that about me but on the German forum tells Powercroco that JA told him to look after me on his death bed.. He never talked to Jim on a Deathbed coz the only person that even remotely did that was Henry Nelson. Even the now deceased Mike Langlois didnt know. I know that coz Mike and I spoke about it direct. JA had totally flipped to a new house new location etc. No one really knew what was going on and it all happened overnight. Now if Im lying about what was said on the German forums as it pertained to Jim and I just ask Dr Okon aka Powercroco. He can confirm what was said supposedly from JA to ChX on his deathbed. So even he knows the contradiction that's been posted here. .

I have a line of adversaries but not one can tell you they do not like me because I tell lies about rc power.systems.

U can see JA posted this the 24th of he had transitioned about 2 weeks from this date. So id really love to see this Dated email showing he talked trash weeks sb4 he passed which is exactly this time period of his last post about rc which happened to be about rudders. So its bad Karma he ChX on himself.

So please if you have a letter dated during these times the last week in July into the first t weeks in august please allow him tpo post it without punishment. I want him to post i since he claims to have it. The forum at least need to know who is totally honest with them on any of the subject matters.

Doesnt make alot of sense for a man to bring up some guy "he cares zero about" on his deathbed,,, See the contradiction? Why would he be even talking about me at a time like that.....???? Thats how you know bs when you read it and why i can pull post like this from JA to Hubert at a moments notice. When you understand the ugliness in telling that kind of FIB you can understand the eternal sever.

Id really like to see his last word on me since he has that dated and all.

Thanks
"Hugh"

"Hugh,

I should have told you that a carefully drawn view of exactly what the wedge shape will look like helps to determine if the calculated angles involved are correct. I made these drawings at a scale of 1:10 using 10 X 10 grid graph paper, which was 11" X 17". At a scale of 1:10, measurements could be made from the drawing using simple tools such as a machinist protractor & a machinist scale. Using this method allowed a 5/32 " water pickup hole to be drilled in the 1/4" thick rudder blades used on my hydro & cat boats.

Jim Allen"

So I hope the boyz see the truth.

...

So he shared with me this way, talked bad about me in email to Christian, and post simultaneously that JA asked him to look out for me while he was sick as I was their mutual friend.

However I introduced him to JA!

so 3 totally different truths u have all at the same time then.

There was an eternal glue that Tied JA and I together and no German he met through me could break it.. The letter he has was well b4 JAs death by years and stemmed from my correcting JA that a symmetrical airfoil shaped boom will not induce lift at zero degrees and it wont. You know correcting JA created some waves for a moment. But the email was a simple vent of anger and nothing else. I can show you a million letters from JA where he shared. Blueprints with all the numbers prints to his genius and the tricks he used to set records with his own hand built engines and hardware.

1/16th inch tempered spring steel hardware.

Hi James,

Why Is a good piece of ASTM A228 (music wire) not good for the drive line? I also want a straight shaft and plan to push the motor all the way into the nose of the boat. An want a nice true shaft if the wire wont work. If i use the straight shaft what kind and how would you support it along its length? I want minimal drag. Maybe a hollow drive shaft?

Music wire is drawn, not ground, therefore, it is not straight. When Ed & I used music wire for drive shafts it had to be straightened. If the drive shaft is a ground shaft .093'' to .125" it could be bent slightly & supported at 3.0" intervals. The shaft supports were approximately 3/16" to 1/4" wide. They were soldered in the next telescoping size tubing by drilling a hole at the solder point. We did this same thing with shafts that were .1875" to .250". Very light weight #2 lubriplate marine grease (L0206-001) was used as a lubricant for both the solid shafts & cable shafts. Remember these drive shafts never exceeded 30,000 RPM. I have no idea what lubricant is used for a shaft operating at 60,000 RPM.

In the early days we used plain hard drawn brass tubing. Later we used B-8 Bearium alloy for the bushings. The bushing pieces were machined with a 3/64" wall thickness. This gave a much greater area to contain the lubricating grease. The B-8 Bearium metal was also used in our struts. The angled water inlet in the bottom of the strut made the strut bushings last forever. Notice that the strut bushing is held in the strut housing with a 3-48 screw. Also notice the brass sleeve soldered at the cable, hard shaft joint. This piece not only reinforced this joint, it also made it impossible to lose the propeller shaft in the event of a cable failure because it's OD is bigger than the machined bushings ID.

Jim Allen

note: I have no information about hardened ground small diameter shafting except that I've been told it is available.

"Ed" is ed Kalfus.

The founding father of IMPBA and the first tether boat to run 100 mph so you see 50 is really nothing for an electric they ran faster on nitro in the 60s and 70s.
This 10cc (.60ci) tether boat engine was designed and built by Ed Kalfus, of MI, in the 1950s. The engine is 5”-long, 3.5”-wide, 5.5”-high, and weighs 1 lb. 10 oz. The engine is one of many custom engines built by Ed Kalfus between 1931 and the late 50s. The small brass carburetor in the back is set to run the engine at low speed for startup and last-minute checks on the adjustments and operation. It requires the throttle of the front carburetor to be completely closed during this process. Once everything is checked and tuned for the race Ed would simply open the throttle on the front carburetor to full open and release the boat. It required the front carburetor to be set to compensate for the additional intake of the rear carburetor while running at full throttle.

This 15cc (.90ci) radio control boat engine was designed and built by Ed Kalfus, of MI, in the 1960s. The engine is 6.5”-long, 6”-wide, 5”-high, and weighs 2 lbs. 4 oz. Ed began racing tether boats in 1931 and radio-controlled boats in 1960. It is not known how many engines he built but, in all those years, he admitted he never purchased an engine. This particular engine is one of four that he built in the early 60s for his radio-controlled boats. He was the first RC boat racer to hit 60 miles an hour and held the F Hydro record for several years. The engine burns Ed’s special blend of 60% nitro mixed with the methanol and castor oil on glow ignition and utilizes sub-piston porting for increased power. Mr. Kalfus was the first person to be inducted into the International Model Power Boat Association’s Hall of Fame.

Legends in RC boats. He and Jim were legendary engine and test bed builders!

Anybody that know Jim knows you did not receive an invitation to his home in Lexington NC unless he liked and respected you.. I was invited several times. Even his techniques to cut the transfers in the billet block of his .90 engines was passed along when i asked for the 3rd time. That was proprietary for a long time.

The result of the sharing resulted in me buying the tru stainless wire drive from world Champ Brent Byers and you can see the motor is all the way in the nose. This type of build has been planned out years ago. I made an informed choice on this directly based of JA's help so I don't know what the German is talking about. We were Gooder than good. Anything bad JA had to say about me hed say to my face so I know clearly his view.. The marine who served in Vietnam had no fear!

I push my motor far forward versus adding a piece to the deck of the boat like here to push the bow down and reduce the drive line angle. That additional piece on the corvus deck is really a front spoiler which is borderline on the rules because you never see that on a real mono and the one you would on the back of a scarab KV like miami vice is illegal.

Can the boys see that there on the deck of the boat at the nose or did they not notice that?

Christian pointed out to me EXO

Enuf of history lets look into the future and see how the GPS connects and functions with the 10PX because I don't know. The carbon circus should be around the bend as well and Ill start on the ML boat which will be really a boat the s and t sport hydro should look out for. I plan to run Michaels boat hard. The boys know it will run very competitively in any competition involving U1's
