Maybe they are no more. The Home Depot in my area had them a couple of months ago, but yesterday there were none, and they were pushing a similar Stanley tool box.

I got mine a year ago at Costco....now I have the motivation to convert it.
Since I joined the ****************** today, does this mean I hafta join the ultimate fieldbox brotherhood too?

I purchased a B & D MasterCart for $29.95 at the Home Despot in Maplewood, MN this morning. They don't come in a box. There is just a label on the front of the lower section.

The UPC code is 731161015335. There were two other part numbers on the shelf sign above the boxes, but I don't know what they mean. They were 17330605 and A 617-736.

The latches and center tray were orange on the three boxes in the store this morning. On Monday, there were two boxes with yellow latches and center tray. Billy's field box appears to have red ones from the pictures he posted.

My box was made in Israel.

That's the one. Mine are bright orange. They are so cheap I should buy an extra for the 20 years of my flying career.

Here is the box as bought from Home Depot. There is no info on their site or Black and Deckers about this box.

Only time will tell I guess... mine seems like it's well made and should last a good long while.

I went to Home Depot and I bought the two piece rolling tool box to convert into a field box.

I have finished the box. It is smaller volume than the big rolling box I have been using the past few years. There is room for only one transmitter. I got rid of the standard size power panel on the front of my old box and went with a tiny micro panel from Hobbico. My better quality fuel pump is buried deep in the bottom of the box. I used "bulkhead fittings" to pass the fuel line out of the box.

The cool part is I have TWO separate 12 volt systems. One for starting planes and charging glow ignitors and a second two battery 12V system for field charging and whatever else. In the bottom of the box there is a standard size 12V gel cell, two 6V gel cells in a series and a 1.25 gallon gasoling jug for a fuel container. It's a nice setup.

I hope it doesn't fall apart.

I saw these boxes at Target as well.

Where is the band saw and drill press? And you say its complete!!!

Now..... where did the other half go? Couldnt resist walking by these things at Home Depot about once a week. Great idea Billy Boy. Now go kiss the girls and make them cry.

Just curious, do you recomend making provisions for charging the 12V battery without opening it?

Is there much concern for the battery and fuel sharing a closed compartment?

I charge back through the 12V DC outputs on the outside of the box . In my case on this new box that is the pair of outputs on the "micro panel" and another pair on it's own connectors. I have two 12V circuits in the bottom of my box.

Same here. I considered the battery/fuel issue but gel cells are pretty safe. Since I charge from the outside I don't think it's a big deal. All the flight boxes on the market have the fuel near the pos and neg ports anyway.

At our field we back up to the pits. We start our planes in the pits and taxi out to the flight line. I have built compartments into the back floor of my two door Caviler from 1/4 plywood. On the right is my fuel. On the left is my toolbox and cleaning supplies. Down the center are seven compartments. Two are padded for my transmitters. Room for everything without any crowding and I take everything. Doesn’t take much room and I can still load groceries without any trouble. I have a hand pump on the gas can and a battery attached to my starter. I leave the wings on my airplanes, so it doesn’t take long to get my planes in the air. That's why I go to the field. I still carry my old field box on the floor behind the seat with fuel, starter and glow starter for backup.

Nice rig. The wife has the SUV but when I get my own it will wired for chargers and the like.

I wish I could park up next to the pits like that. That's awesome.

We have only 17 members so we can back up to the pits. We have never filled up pit row. If we ever do we can just mow more pit space. We don’t get many visitors so we don’t need a chain link fence like so many clubs have to have.

I have been in small clubs in Florida, Arizona and Indiana where we don’t have fences and can drive up to the pits.

I really enjoyed your web page with the pictures.

Why did you mount you fuel pump on the outside? Just curious.
I'm thinking about mounting inside to keep it out of the way.

That's how it was on my original box. I didn't even think about it. I guess it comes in handy if you have a hose pull loose. No fuel in your rig.

I mounted my pump way down low in the inside of the box. The switch is real cleanly mounted on the front of the box. If I did it right this pump will stay BELOW the fuel and never need priming.
