Composite Sukhoi

Yea, exactly like that. It's not that I don't like the checker board, it' s just that for me, a Sukhoi is supposed to have a big star on the rudder. I like to have something different at the field and I've had a thing for Su-26's for a long time, so your new one is right up my alley. I've even got one of the old Byron kits in the garage that I may build some day.

I kinda prefer the classic scheme myself.. I grew up drooling at the Byrons myself.. Maybe we will need a Russian flag instead of a star though

Tom,
Like I said before, the checkers just don't work for me for some reason. I much prefer the classic Sukhoi stripes and star. It's funny how all those Extras, Caps, and Edges can look fine in any scheme imaginable, but to me the Sukhois only look right with the typical Sukhoi stripes.
I also have to say i am really impressed with the attention to scale you had with this model. For some reason I just knew you would extend the ailerons all the way to the tips like the Su-26 or Su-31. I was happy to see that with the Su-29 you stopped them before the tips per the full scale. Kudos to you! Can't wait to see a video of this one.

I have to wonder about guys saying they want something different to take to the field, then request the old, old, old, original Sukhoi stripes. Yuck!
Come on, guys, there are more Sukhoi schemes out there than those old stripes.

Tom,
Any chance of the same size hatch, with either the single or twin seat canopy?
A all white, and a "star on the tail" schemes.
Keeps both camps happy.

The star does look better than the checkers in my opinion but either would be fine with me as long as it comes with a white base and red or blue stripes or a combination of both. What do the rest of you guys think about adding wheel pants to this bird? Maybe an option would be nice for those that like them.

Two schemes; "Star on tail" or "all white".
Two Hatch setups; "Single" or "two place".
Same size hatch with either canopy.
Wheel spats kind of top the plane off, IMO.

The full scale planes do not have wheel pants.
RE: colors, here's the problem. all white + Sukhois scheme + custome scheme x 2 styles = 6 different models I have to stock. No matter what I order I'll be out of the most popular planes, and I don't know what that is yet.
So I'm sorry but I have to narrow it down.

Cut the "custome scheme", leaving the other two.
Using only one style fuse, with two hatch setups.
1 plane in two colors ( all white or Sukhoi star scheme)
two hatch setups ( single or twin seat canopy)
looking back thru this and other threads, the standard sukhoi scheme along with a all white seem to be the most requested.
The other concern being the choice of a single or twin seat canopy.
This would give the buyer a choice of two schemes with either canopy.

The interchangeable hatch idea is a great idea! Seems it would be cheaper stock two hatches as opposed to two fuselages.
I also like the custom paint idea. I am not sure if this plane will fall into my pocket book range at the moment, but a single seat version in the Buell Tiger scheme would be spectacular!

We're probably going to start the first small production run about the 15th of May for shipment from Thailand about mid June. They can build one plane a day so the first batch will only be 25-30 airplanes.
I suggest that anyone who wants a solid color plane should place an order now. I can get any solid color if you place the order before they are built. I do not know yet if there will be a price difference, if they charge me less I will reduce my price.

Regarding the russian stars,
When I was stationed at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan the Russians left behind so many aircraft you would have to see it to believe it. From at least two of my guard towers I had to pull duty in, I could see at least 10 or so planes and helis just in ruins. They all were from the Russian Afghan war which lasted 10 years, although, some are believed to have been there from when Afghanistan had an air force in the 50's. I will try to look through my Army photos to see if I can show you pictures of what I am talking about. I know its a little off subject, but I think its neat to see the many different aircraft and markings. Whenever I saw the planes I always wondered what their last mission had been and how exactly they might there demise. I am not allowed to share all I know about the things I saw, but I think the pictures are a safe bet. The neat things to see were the aircraft in operation which I am not allowed to talk about
I love the big round cowl airplanes. I think a Pitts model 12 would be a fun WH Plane. Well any big bipe for 100cc...lol.
