Me too. I usually like the more subdued schemes, but I like that one. It is very creative without using five hundred different colors.

I do like that tiger scheme, and it's a scale version.

I imagine it may may be rather labour intensive for Tom to produce though, he would have to comment on that.

I haven't found any other good photos. I know Bob Banka has a photo pak of it. It is his #6775/15 on the bottom left side of page 175 in his catalog. I haven't personally ordered it as of this point in time though.

Hi Tom, I really like the blue/white/red scheme. I,m very interested in getting one of these planes when they become available. What is the process for getting put on a waiting list for the first batch? thx Dave

The only problem with that size is once you step up to that size the price goes way up having to go up to the 100cc motor and such..
He can probably sell more of the smaller size since they are more affordable..

Fur sure on that Bigger Does Fly Better!! You can notice that just from flying a 40 size to a 50cc size..
I'm just trying to figure out how most of the BIG plane owners afford to have them.. Must be alot of money circulating around out there.. When you have as much into a model as you can have to buy a car..
I guess I'm just jealous!!! Actually I know I am!!!

The Sukhoi has giant control surfaces and needs the best servos you can get. I had 5945s on the prototype and was using the plastic wheels with bolt-on arms (because they cam with the plane and I wanted to test them). Both the plastic wheels stripped thanks to Silversurfer's somewhat heavy-handed flying style
.
From this I learned that for ailerons I'd suggest at least 5945s or preferably 8611a with metal arms.
Elevators are not as large as ailerons but still impose a huge load, same story there.

Yeah thats what I think did in my Extra 260 in part. I used the nelson servo arms that bolt on to the plastic wheel. One of my outer servos striped the plastic completely. Looks like I'll switch to metal arms too!

Why loose a plane you have thousands of dollars in over something you can get for like $10 or less? On rudder, aileron, and elevator I would at least use the Air Wild or some type of aluminum arm. It could not hurt to use them on the ailerons as well. Make sure you use some lock tite or you might loose the arms though.

Having just completed building the Comp Arf 2.6 Yak, the big question for me is: Will we have to cut out each individual engine louver panel to get airflow through or will this be completed at the manufacturing facility. I really like my Yak but those louvers are a pain.......

No the louvers are not cut out. It would have cost more and that's a tradeoff decision I had to make.
FYI on the prototype I just cut a couple hoes in the bottom about 1.5x3". You can't see them and they seem to cool real well.
This also seems to force airflow over the cylinder fins, with the louvers cut out there is no way to be sure the fins are getting any air.

Tom,
I've sent a E-mail to you ordering one of the five Tiger Scheme Sukhoi Su-31.
Very nice job.
Got any pics of the bottom, sides, inside, cowling off, ect?
Did you get two hatch covers made to fit the fuse so that the plane can be made into a single or twin seat ?
This should be a good selling plane if you get enough.

The pic I posted is the only one I have, sorry.
We do have two hatch covers but they come with the plane so I won't be able to interchange them at first. Maybe later when I get some parts inventory,
