Default question regarding the pull pull mechanics

hi,

i have a question regarding the pull pull mechanics. I'm using a 3" servo arm and the distance between the rudder horn is 3", both on the hinge line.
i decided to cross the wires and now one line in full deflection stays loose. is that normal? though, at neutral both the lines are quite tight.
there is a diagram at the SWB website of different ways to setup the rudder. in that with a cross setup the servo arm has a small off-set and it's also a bit smaller.
should i do the same or should i stick with what i have. the problem in changing is that i live in india and i would have to get the proper setup from the US.

thanks

If the side at full deflection has only a little slack, don't worry about it. However, if the tension becomes so loose as to let the cable drop down, then you should correct it.

what would be the easiest way to fix it? should i have a servo arm with a off-set ?

If the condition is really bad, yes, an offset arm could be in order. As before, if the slack that occurs in relatively minor, don't sweat it. I'm not going to say it's correct, but I've experienced the same issue more than once and have never had a problem with a rudder at any deflection or speed. There may be a very short time period that both wires go slightly slack during control surface transitions, but normal airflow generally keeps the rudder in trail during that brief period.

\The easiest way to fix it is to run the cables straight.

I didn't want to go there, but you can't argue the point. I was kinda presuming he had some reason for the cross. Don't know what it would be but a reason.
