First Hobby Grade Quadcopter

Does anyone remember the name of an early hobby grade American quadcopter that was around in the 70's or early 80's? I think the word "wheel" was part of the name and it was made partly out of...

RE: Aerial Video at the Outer Banks (complete w/crash)

I've been thinking of getting a Go Pro. I'm experimenting with a Flycamone2. Very cool little camera but I find that unless your platform is completely vibration free, the video is kind of wavy.

Flycamone2 Dive Box Question

I picked up a dive box for my flycamone2 and noticed that there is a little silicone plug that I assume goes into the little hole at the top of the box. I haven't quite figured out how this plug is...

RE: the best camara

I have a flycamone which takes pretty decent video and is tiny and light. Lots of people have had problems with the battery dying or the camera shutting itself off after a few minutes. The other...

RE: Aerial Video at the Outer Banks (complete w/crash)

What camera were you using? Nice video - looks like the camera survived the crash.

RE: First Heli... T-rex 600 nitro?

I agree that there's nothing wrong with starting with a big nitro. If it's set up properly, it will be very stable. Just make sure you have an experienced pilot with you when you start out because a...

RE: From coax to FP

If you do decide to get a CP heli, I would avoid the E-Flite CP Pro. Very difficult to fly. Not a beginner heli at all.

RE: 1st attempt at aerial video with Raptor 60 Nitro Heli

Nice. How is the camera mounted? I built a camera rig out of ABS pipe for my 50 but haven't mounted a camera on it yet.

RE: Flycamone 2 Videos

I'm actually pretty impressed with the videos you can make with one of those things. I just bought one to mount on my heli but haven't tried in in flight. I'm a bit worried about vibration on a nitro...

RE: How difficult is it to fly a Draganflyer?

Very easy to fly, as long as the stabilization stuff is working properly. After I learned to fly the Draganflyer, I bought a Blade CP Pro and found it to be a real ******* to fly compared to the...

RE: Any Kinetic 50 Flyers out there?

I have a Kinetic 50 and think it is an excellent heli for the price. Flies really nicely. Super stable. Make sure you go through all of the factory mounted fasteners (especially the grub screws on...

RE: Possible new RC show on Discovery or History channel

There's an RC show on OLN (Outdoor Life) in Canada called RC TV. Don't know if you get it in the states. Half hour weekly show - they cover all aspects of rc - cars, helis, planes, boats etc. Pretty...

RE: Align EC 135

Here's a photo of the finished heli. I'll try to post some photos of it in flight when it stops snowing.

True. I'll post some photos after I've put the decals on. Will try to get some in flight.

RE: Align EC 135

You have to adjust it and make sure the heli is trimmed properly before you install it in the fuselage. You can still make adjustments to the linkage at the tail rotor end.

Align EC 135

Put together an Align EC 135 fuselage yesterday and test flew it today. Flew really nice and looks awesome in flight. Was expecting it to be really tail heavy and the tail difficult to control but I...

RE: Home made blades

Not sure, but I think all of the carbon blades I've broken had a foam core in them. I'm sure a lot of companies that make carbon stuff today started out as guys working in their garage. I would do...

RE: scale fuselage for trex 450 xl

I just picked up an Align EC 135 fuselage for my T-Rex. Very nicely made. Haven't started to install the mechanicals yet though. Will see how well that goes. If I like flying scale, I'll probably...

RE: Servo install... to gromet or not to gromet

Maybe it was just a coincidence, but after flying my 50 size nitro with just rubber grommets on the servos for awhile, I decided that maybe I should install the brass eyelets too. Soon after, the...

RE: heli fuel10%,15%,30% ??? what % to use

I started out with 30% in my OS 50 and then switched to 15%. I'm into fast forward flight and big circuits so I didn't notice any loss of performance. Plus, I think most engines are designed to run...

RE: Are big Helis easier?

I've had some pretty horrendous crashes with my T-Rex 450 - like having a blade grip break during a loop and having the heli plummet from great height. Even with upgrades to more expensive billet...

RE: Starter?

Should work just fine on your Kinetic. I clamped the starter wand directly to the starter because the rubber cup wore out very quickly.

Kinetic 50 in Century Hughes 500

Has anyone installed a Kinetic 50 in a Century Hughes 500 fuselage? I'm thinking of making it my winter project and was wondering how easy it is to do. Things to look out for?
