Berk,
Nice colour scheme. Thats the same purple as mine and mine doesn't photograph too well either. Mine looks blue in the photo's. Perhaps you've got a better camera than me
Let me know how the cowl turns out with the colour match.

Hopefully soon i will be reverting to the unswept undercarriage. personally i think the swept ones crap.[8D]
reckon the 19x8W is the best prop on the 160 for the capiche at the moment. Tried a bolly 19x8 carbon the other day and it seemed to rev too much. Think i might try an engle 20x8 carbon propeller and see how that goes but the apc 19x8W is pretty good - lots of downline breaking and nice constant speed.

The first photo of Lukes shows the moment that we all held our breath in the pits as we thought he had lost it [X(]

On the subject of the 160 , i am now running it on Wildcat heli 30%, which works out a fair bit cheaper than modeltechnics Ys 30/30. I add 150ml of oil ( the same type used in the modeltechnics fuel) and it ran absolutely fine. No changes in settings on the engine were needed. You can get 4 gals of the stuff delivered to your door for 86 quid which doesnt work out too bad!

From: Jersey,
Pls excuse me while I catch up...
Now Berk, Why would you NOT use the IH hinges..... properly applied they wil never come out and you get zero gap! I agree with Baron, even though they are big enough to give you power, a gap creates unpredictable diffs in flight, slow or fast. I reckon you should fly unsealed, then seal, then report. But be prepared fora different machine on the second flight.
I must say Berk though I like the scheme.... still got somat missin though
Luke.... I am very pleased to see your 140 looking so comfortable with terra firma... now I KNOW you are getting happy with it !
I must mail you re UC.

I used the IH hinges in the end on Rudder/Elevator after finding the big aileron Gap using the Kavan hinges!!!, and have now sealed the small gaps at the tail end..just the ailerons to seal, then it's all Done!!
I've Setup the low/high rates as per the Instruction leaflet with -20% expo, which doesnt look like a lot of movement, even high rates. I guess it will be enough as they are large surfaces
I also set extreme rates with - 40% expo, which does look like a lot of movement!!
I have checked nothing is binding, but it's singing like a sub-station. 8411s and 8511s do this, apparently.
Engine now installed!!
4* CP1700s just in front of the CofG will (when cowl added) balance correctly.
Still trying to figure out why the throttle goes to idle when i switch off the TX.. I havent set up a F/S....

Steve

Rates sound about right. For myself i find that for high rates about 50-60 degrees on elev and rudder and 40 on aileron sufficient. Im using 80% expo at high rate. Ive heard this is what the boy uses too.
The JR digis make that sound because of the load of the control surface weight on them. Id only start worrying if they went quiet. Sometimes you also can get them oscillating in the pits if you go to full deflection and let the stick go so it vibrates around center - i think the servo picks this up and tries to follow it, certainly havent had any problems in the air.
I'd start off with the C of G in recommended position and then gradually move it back, slightly increasing the amount of expo on the elevator if you need too.

I wonder where to run the aerial......
I might get one of those whip thingies, if I can find someone who sells them!
There's rather a lot of wiring in that Fuz to share with an aerial!! I don't know if there's a metal content to the pearl film either!
Regards,
Steve
