The best field repair I've seen was a broken wing, luckily I asked someone to bring some balsa for me, it was the right thickness too, the wing was cyanoed up and recovered, and away.

just been doing some more testing. [>:]

Take a look at this lott 10 packs of 4s 2100 cells. these aint cheap (£90.00 a pack but there 20c Yes 20C ) they are as hardy as the 340s

the eye are about 25% heavier than the 2000 cells and a fair bit larger but they will give 45A!!!

i have tried to test a pack to distruction (not by under volting, thats stupid[:@]) but i was sucking 75 amps out of one pack and only noticed a volt drop sag (down to 2.7volts per cell under load) but they recovered instantly when the current was dropped below 30 amps. this will obviously cause long term damage but if there kept at 40amps or less they should be good for a hundred or so charges.

Just got back from Westons. I now have the first custom IN COWL silencer for the YS 140 for the codpiece

Fits a doddle and looks very well sorted.

Also leaves my hatches clear and the bottom clean.

It has a baffled and spiralled inlet and twin baffled and spiraled genises airfow outlets!!! The whole thing including header manifold pipe and bracket weighs less than an Hattori pipe 121grams to be precise.

One bolt fixes all to the firewall

Cost will be £99.95 all in [8D]

Post a pic at weekend when its hardened and a pic of it mounted.

I also picked up a battery monitor which can tell if a pack is 4 or 5 cell and lets you know the lowest the pack went in flight. This will be a better gauge of the loads in flight and gives visual warning at all times. If you drop a cell it will show as 4 cell an added bonus as long as you started with 5 !!!

It is very light and for £17 I thought a bargain

Smell of cigars now [:'(]

Baron, I got one of those battery monitors from Westons at Sandown. Will put it in the c50. The inflight load monitoring is really neat.Just by putting a bit of load on one of the control surfaces & wiggling the sticks & you can see the increased battery load.Haven't flown with it yet but will be interesting to see what sort of a spike a Wall or Blender puts on the display![:@] Only weighs a couple of grams as well so thats not a consideration.
Yeah big Al ain't often seen without a fat cigar is he, even when lobbing a magnum at Sandown he had one clenched between teeth!

NO.Did not ask the Q but I doubt it will be. its a muffled 4 stroke box!!

We were more interested in making a "Q" light muffler. I reckon a tuned torque pipe would be better for 2 st.

Best ask him Archie

Saw a bolly pipe while I was there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bought back gungy memories!!

Looks heavy and a tad over engineered but clever idea.

BTW

The in cowl is spedific to 4 stroke. Power will be the same Luke all we need to worry about is weight versus quiet

The weight is excellent so is the price!!

All I have to do now is report on the noise [8D]

I have a db meter so I can test it and let you know it will be early next week or maybe Sunday.

malc. those weston battery checkers are quite good. my friend flyes a 2M pattern ship on a standard NIMH. plugged it in moved up elevatro, thats OK added a little force as though in fligh and the batter just dropped! quite scary when looking at it. id hate to think how say the capioche doing a blender with full throws the battery would just die! so the guy got one of those special digi packs from overlander but they weigh a ton

Sprink Eddie. Yep you are right []

I put the checker on and hit full throws using all servo at once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The five cell pack according to my "Normal" battery checker said full greens!!!!!!!!!!!

The Weston unit gives a more realistic inflight load not 300 mah [:@]

With two JR 15 k jobbies on elevator and rude er plus a couple of 9206 on ailerons it was easy to provoke the on board checker into the RED

I am glad I am using a 5 cell pack as even a fully charged 1,700 au pack was being hit hard by 50K of torque

Upside is I have flown this pack and servo combi for three years and "Touch wood" it aint let go yet But do take care its a big toy.

CHECK rec pack after 2 flights!!!
