Thats why ive got a voltage regulator with a heat-sink for mine- no matter whats the servos are doing 4.8V is still supplied to the servos and reciever from a 5 cell pack. Have tested this too. 4 x JR8511 put under load only make the voltage drop 1 mV!!

one thing puzzles me..
back in the day me and a mate used to slow charge the planes then go flying all day no chargers, we didn't have quick chargers after all, these were funflys with 5 servos and back then just 600 mAh packs, we'd have at least 6-8 flights of 10-15 mins each with no sign of flat packs..
these days i check my pack after 2 5-7 min flights and it's down in the orange[&o]
recently i pushed out 5 flights and lost all servo speed in a hang, time to land.[X(]

I always slow charge, I bought a Ripmax Extra onboard.
Actually my flying friend Phil just says to me "Charge the tranny and receiver batt at the same time, the tranny always will lose power beofre the receiver so use the tranny as your meter"
His is one of those flyers where NOTHING goes wrong, he comes to the field with one hand in a bicyle and other with fuelled and assembled plane...
And hes used the same tranny for 12 years with no servicing works fine! Where as my SS6 is still busted after repairs (rippoffmax)
So how good are these Ripmax Extras?

My Mirage batt goes 4 mins before a charge [sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=RAINFRO.gif][sm=spinnyeyes.gif][sm=drowning.gif][sm=bananahead.gif][sm=pirate.gif]
Well I would prefer an onboard in the Capiche, the little Ripmax ones that you can walk around with are crap. They make you think the batt is dead after 15 mins.... Ok, no more foamies and ripmax stuff too....

Only real test of the current demand is to fully charge the pack, go fly, then discarge it at the end of the day, and see how much was left. Most of my planes I am happy only charging up once every weekend or two. Only my C50 has cought me out doing that, not surprising the amount it got flown

cougar needs to be charged every flight
well its only 400mah! i could squeese 2 flights on it if i had shorter flights, but i like longer flights and now i got my prodigy charger, which IMO is the best 42 quid any charger could cost, it does everything! lipos, nicads, PB ,nimh its a great little bit of kit. anyway. flip (dead) needed to be charged very session as it was a NIMH. tranny gets a slow charge the nite befor flying, thatll last me the day of if i dont fly too much 2 days.doesnt bother me chargng things. i just need a lead acid batery now
i borrow them all the time as im waiting for the local golf club to give us a few more. also, i hardly slow charge, im too lazy for that! quick 15 min buzz in the morning does it

Westons in cowl pipe is very good I had to make mount on fire wall a little more rigid than my first go but now setup seems fine the flex joiner is O ring sealed and not soldered so should last.
Couldnt hold the beast and D B her but sounded very good.
I used a central ISO rubber to isolate pipe from firewall.
Was kicking out 8,600 rpm on a 17 x 8 on Yamada mix 20 nitro
Going to try her on 30 nitro soon.

Yup well, if I use my trusy first ever receiver and not dual conversion I might get away with it.

Looks like we have all become "basic members"! putting it rather bluntly for some of us!
just been working on the pipe mounting. Ive got the new hatori cool pipe, so am doing away with the pipe tunnel and mounting inside the fuz.[X(]
Dad reckons it will be fine- will have a little air scoop by the u/c. Air is also coming in from all the holes in the bulk head, and will have some holes by the pipe exit for air to escape. may also have some holes in the bottom of the hatch around the area of the pipe. Now to wait and see if it works and doesnt melt all the r/c gear!. After the first flight the hatch will be taken off to see how hot it gets in there. all to do now is do the hatch, put the r/c gear in, mount the tank, glass the bulk head, and cover the damn thing!
Can't post a pick[:@]. a barrage of viruse attacks has put one hard disk and all my USb ports(including my camera interface) out of action![:@]

Malc, your pic on post 861, I notice that you haven't put the triangle on the engine box to F2 join. Is your engine box mounting standard as per the drawings or have you done something else to beef it up at all?
Impressed with the muffler though, looks the biznis. Wonder if it'd fit the Saito 180?

Luke and Sprink, cor you youngster's have got better eyesight than I have, but I think you're right, it is there. Blew the pic up and at 4x zoom I can just about see it. Your eyes are obviously a lot younger, and hence less used than mine.
