hey luke, nice idea with the pipe,i would be a bit worried though about cooling,i know my synergy has a pipe tunnel but loads off cooling and that still gets damn hot,and its only a 91, with the 140 i know you dont have to use much throttle.[8D]

Guys,
I'm now getting the build underway after picking up the Kit......
extracting and sanding CNC parts whilst I wait for the missing bits of the kit to arrive [:@]
Got a bit that aint on the inventory, apparently an engine box reinforcing piece....
All in all a nice looking kit, can't wait to get started.. I am almost obsessively fussy about quality of stuff
I might be a bit over 10 when done, as I'm not too sure about thin cyano and liteply , maybe i'll use white glue but sparingly
..
My Folks are on holiday in Seattle for a month, so might get them to order the YS for me
About to be very busy methinks,
Regards,
Steve

Thanks Archie!
With hindsight, the missing CNC and stringer bits I'm after are probably available from SLEC, 10 miles down the road from me... Are they cut there ??
Regards,
Steve

Bring your poncey digitals and we can compare
Steve. Bits Missing!!!!
Archie that seems like a 7 P problem to me

USE CYANO Steve you will never get white glue in those slots!!!
Besides thin zap or Grip blue seeps in the joints and adds loads of strength
Trust me

Steve re the glue, ONLY use cyano on lite ply, it's the best glue for it.
If you've ever spoken to Glen or built one of his models, (http://www.glensmodels.com) and it has to be said this guy seems to have almost invented the system of interlocking liteply models, he's most insistent in all his instructions that only cyano is to be used. Seems that with the very close joints that the CNC cutting gives and the wicking action of the cyano, it seeps right into the wood and really gives a 100% solid join rather than just sitting on the surface like epoxy or PVA\Aliphatic glue does.
Oh and Baron, it would be REALLY interesting to hear the TRUE weight of Archie's Capiche. Go on you can tell me, I am a Doctor after all and can keep a secret

AUW was 10lb 2 oz on my digis and suspended from Barons Fish scales (held aloft by Steve Holland on a chair !) the needle was dancing all over the place between 10 lb and 10 lb 4 oz - so Baron of course elected to announce it 10-4 !!
Anyway - feels pretty good.... Pics follow...
Cockpit area needs finishing properly and Canopy needs tinting otherwise pretty much I think until the 160DZ arrives !!

Incidentally - for any of the TWO TAIL SERVO doubters out there - Balance will be spot on with the Battery on or just aft of the cg position. AT the moment it is just ahead of the tank which gives a cg in the foreward area of the recommended range !!

True the canopy looks smaller, with that CAP 232 scheme you can really see the CAP in it which I think is what this plane is based on right?

certianly did somthing different there! looks weird, not my cup of tea but certainly will stand out, i think it would look good on a plane which was covered with lines like that but the rest of the plane looks slightly more organised. I notice the nood siloute of the lady seems to leart how to hover over the O of hobbies

keep the tone up please folks....
organised versus chaos - isnt that the world? and art ? dunno - may strip off the tail and do it again..
If you have started a 140 and been put off by tail mounted servos due to tail heavy scenario then dont.......
3 have been produced in this format...... 140fz power, 120sf power and moki 135..... all easily balanced with acceptable positioning of the battery...
Moki 135 was most nose heavy, 120fs with in cowl hatori silencer next and 140 with full length pipe after that by a narrow margin...
it is basically as easy to balance as the 50

Like the colour scheme Archie, esp the wings and fus, but like others have said, not over keen on the tail.
Yeah, strip it off and try again.
Or put the same stripes all over, it's not co-ordinated as it is.
How dies it fly though? With ALL THAT WEIGHT eh? 10lbs 4 ozs?[X(]
If I remember correctly you were taking the p**s out of me when my came out at 10lbs, telling me it was supposed to be a light model and then you turn up with this heavyweight example. Hope you've reinforced the u\c to take all that weight. Is there enough power in that baby engine of yours for it to get off the ground then?

Sh-t Mate! No wonder it took so many late nights to cover!
All those curves & little fillets of colour eat up the time.
But overall,,,,,,,,,[sm=thumbup.gif]
The tail is certainly different but I think it adds individuality!

Colin - I know ! [sm=bananahead.gif] HANDS UP ON THAT ONE.... If I did I should never have taken the mickey..... based on Barons work on his latest you coming out at 10.00 on the nose is excellent work.... There are some contributary factors for me however so Im pretty pleased.......
I got the cowl and spats pre coloured red in the gel coat (cos I cant spray for a toss) and whilst the match is good these parts are heavier than they might be and certainly heavier than Barons who were done super light non coloured and then he got them professionally sprayed. I also got an extra servo and associated leads on board remember. these all add up...
Im going with the 10-2 figure - always found my digi scales accurate in the past - and so I reckon if I had done mine like yours I probably would have hit the 10 mark.
I learnt this weekend also that the 140 that Ali flies is probably more like 10 1/2 after a few repairs etc... doesnt look like it does it !
I have to say I was pretty impressed with the Moki 135 powered one I tested in France....at 10 1/2 pounds.... It was excellent and I said at the time if mine flew like that I would be happy - it didnt feel like 10 1/2 at all - well Im 6 oz lighter - that should be noticeable.
Weather looks gash today - typical ! still - might still do it... need to see if that old faithful YS want to run some time !
