8511's run really well through a regulator. A big difference from 4.8v. However must be through a regulator. Otherwise warrenty is invalid i have been told by LMS. Also had glitching on my 8411's when run on 6v

Aye you gotta regulate it down otherwise you'll knacker your pots. Mine are reg down to 5V but anything from 5.5V or less should be ok. Your really just limiting the peak voltage of a 5cell pack. Fresh off charge your probably getting over 7V!

No wonder my 3004's seem like 9202's of a fresh pack! Too bad they don't stay like that, it would save me alot of money [X(]

To those of you on JR 8511, why didnt you just go for the 8611? Was there a reason? 8611 virtually exactly the same size, speed etc just 3kg/cm more torque. Im thinking of getting five of them for Capiche + when i finally do get my long awaited TOC model ive at least got some servos that will suit it.

I was actually under the impression that the 8611 was the american version of the 8511, and that they were identical servos!!!!

I think you might be right actually Luke. 8611 quoted as approx 18kg/cm at 6V and 15kg/cm at 4.8V. 15kg is the same as 8511 + there another guy claiming the 8511 is UK version of 8611 here (post 11):

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11...tm.htm#1162634

So confusing.

Yeah like in America they change alot of the brand names

Flair=Giant Scale Planes

Sanwa= Airtronics

etc...

As our Capiche less friends across the pond would say 'go figure'

The last prop i had on it was the J'en 18x6 carbon. If you like lots of braking and going through the aeros at a slow pace its a sweet prop. I dont need it for a while because im going 160Dz so you can borrow it if you like. Static thrust didnt seem to be much different with that prop to me though. I should be getting some Wildcat 30% in the post which youre welcome to try to see if it makes a difference.
