Unlucky sprink.... but you should have done what Ali and the Boy did at the rcm&e a few year a go when ali's wheel fell off- he did a low prop hang then the boy went and grabbed it out the air!!! Bet it didn't do his flight score any harm at all mind!

Go for the YS 140 L its got enough grunt and get high speed, high torque servos i.e the Futaba 9206
Torque needed:
Ailerons: per Aileron 8kg min
Elevator: per elevator 5kg min
Rudder:9kg min

Peter, do it justice and stick in a DZ (140 great, 160 even better). I had an L in mine originally and it was a bit wet behind the ears if you ask me, even with 30% nitro.
JR 8401, or if you want metal gears go for 8411/8511. All great servos and are more than up to the job.

Thanks i dont fly fast i like fly slow and 3d. I dont really want Futaba servos. I all ready have a capiche 50 and had futaba 3010 and i have had 3 fail on me. i might do the colour the same as my 50 or simalr like luke has done with his. Or maybe not thinking about it as the whole of the underside of my C50 is red and yellow check and that film is £18[X(] for a 2 meter roll so i might not copy the underside

Angus B thanks Yeah i like the JR 5911 they were/are at the top of my list. If i pick the 160DZ should i strengthen any part of the model.

I'll let you know after i fly it with one on Saturday! Na, should be fine, its a strong model plus the 160 has got less vibration than a 140DZ, maybe even less than an L. If you don't already have a YS for it then the 160 is definitly the one to get.

as far as exhaust goes i have the hatori 699 which is a sweet pipe. The only header that i know is compatible is the hatori cooling manifold.
As far as the mount goes i have the gator soft and safe mount, which is ok, but the rubbers need replacing about every 50 flights, which is a pain. If i could be botherd i'd have spent more initially on some flash mount which would do a better job.
Must admit the C140 will be sweeeeet with that 160DZ, just even more pricey to run and takes longer to fuel up!

another exhaust option is the weston custom made setup for the 140,real quiet and fits snug inside that huge cowl[8D] i started with the 699 hatori then got the weston unit.

Luke,
I was told to rub the rubbers for the gator soft and safe mounts with silicone grease or leave them in glow feul for a while. That makes them last longer apparently. Might be worth trying out?

I just checked on the EARsc Website (they make the ISODAMP grommets for the SoftnSafe mount...
The bad news is the grommets (blue) are rated from 13 to 41 degrees C, and will tolerate occasional 82 degrees C. they must get hotter than that in use....
Source of info is here..
http://www.earsc.com/HOME/products/D...ex.asp?SID=152
ISODAMP C1002 looks like the closest to the material they use... they do it by colour
They sell the Grommets in Versadamp, a softer but more temp tolerant material..
http://www.earsc.com/grommets.asp?bid=392
The spec sheets also say that they have low resistance to Alcohol. perhaps fuel attacks them as well
Regards,
Steve

Looks interesting
I do know that probuild do the grommets in Hard, medium, and soft. The mount comes stock with hard ones. Yes mine were coated in silicon grease.
Got a Just Engines 18x6 Carbon prop for my capiche today.
Its a very nice prop, initial impressions are just as good quality as APC, but looks much nicer, and a lot stronger and lighter
Should hopefully get a little more thrust with this than the 17x8 apc props.

Got the 140 in the test stand, 18*7 prop fitted.... not much compression... I guess this changes when it has some fuel through it!!

Didnt know APC did an 18x7. Where did you get that from? Could be a good prop to try on my 140 FZ2
128x10w, fuel prof the inside of the fuz to make a fuel tank
What size prop and fuel tank should i use with the ys 160

Yes i will report back. i do know that welsh 3d has got much more power out of his 140L with this prop, so we will have to see.
Sprink that 140fz2 will have to have a lot more grunt than my 140L to turn that 18x7!!! Still havent got myine running absolutely perfect yet though so that might be the problem
