I'm using the OS 1.08 mounted inverted on my Showtime with the Slimline inverted pitts style muffler. Everything fits inside the cowl real nice.

She came today and looks fantastic.[8D] Look at this Rudder it's massive for a plane of that size!![X(]

Thats exactly what I thought when i saw that rudder. Its huge. The only problem ive had is the elevator servos hit each other. They are futaba 9303 medal gear servos.

Just got mine today, lovely quality on this plane. Kyle's video at flyingcirkus got me drooling and just could't resist. I will be installing the MVVS 26cc/Evolution 26cc gasser in this plane, any tips for reinforcement that you guys can contribute would be much appreciated.

A friend of mine asked Mike about putting that gasser in it....he said too heavy...it'll kill the performance. You looking at over 10 lbs by my calculations. but if you get it done and it flies well....maybe I"ll follow in your shoes :-> Good luck. The thread that I'm referring is in the mconville forum.

Just finished mine -used all stuff per the book
all up less SFG s-exactly 8 lbs
I use tiny batteries -- 900ma NIMH KANN 6 v pack - these suckers have terrific discharge capabilityand can be recharged very fast
with this pack in the cowl -balance is spot on by the book--
starting with 15x6 APC on a fresh 100 Saito and hot fuel
Onward -and upward --

Hey dick....I am curious as to how yours came in so light.....I used all the stock equipment also...but came in 12oz. heavier than you. If possible...could you lay out what equipment you used...servo's....reciever and such?

sure-I used the servos as called for, one 8411 and 9411's and a 9 ch JR PCM rx
Idid use a smaller throttle servo
pull pull using supplied cable and ferrules for rudder .
Saito 100 older one smaller muffler . no spinner
cut out entire bottom of cowl and trimmed wood floor back to ply edges on canopy - very little weight saved there but I want full access to engine and I like to see into the fuselage
The batt is extremely light exactly 4 ozs I just rechecked it with the APC 15x6 prop - 8 lbs 2 ozs -
No SFGs in this weight . balance may go further aft after flying -I will move batt from engine and shift as needed.

I will run the motor and set the throttle tomorrow, maiden on Saturday at the dry lake.

Barry - a YS120 turning a 17x6 with an AUW of 9 lbs will be totally fun!

This thing builds QUICK! took me and my dad two days to put it together. My dad has built like 90 kits so this was easy for him.All we have to do is test the radio. We will maiden saturday

Well, began construction, and am just loving this plane more and more. The hardware is first rate, unbelieveable for an ARF, best that I have seen to date. Going to put wood glue/whote glue on all the joints that I can reach, and glass the firewall.

One question, the screws that go through the surfaces for the control horns seem a little weak, has anyone had trouble with these??

When me and my dad opened the box we were surprised. We have not had an arf in a long time because they werent as good 5 years ago,but after this plane i wont be surprised if there are a couple more h9's in our basement.

I know the Funtana90 does not have this kind of hardware, so it seems to be a good indication that hangar 9 is improving their planes overall. after seeing this one, some of the guys here are now tempted by the extra 260 as well.

I think most of the newer H9 models should be of the same quality, if not better.

3Dman, if you think this plane is nice, wait until you get the 260. The tail wheel & hardware package that comes in the 260 is identical, but the 260 has more parts. I think the fit of the parts is a little better too, as my Showtime had some large gaps in some of the wood joints & they were kinda skimpy on the glue.

I saw the Showtime ... looks brilliant, just wondered if even the YS110 is enough to have real fun with this plane, it is large and despite not being that heavy there will be a fair amount of drag for the engine to haul. The one I saw had some glue smudges and I was wondering why the quality was not that nice. However, other than that the plane was superb, most tempting for me.

Yeah ... I love the 260, love the hardware and all. I call all these new ARFs a "Put Together Plane", all the work is done for you. Now jus wondering if I will end up flying my 260 or buying a Showtime!

I got some new ideas for a christmas present

Probably, the most well thought out ARF I have done
The level of completion -selection of hardware etc., and most of all ,the even nature of strength throughout - excellent.
It is like a good race car -
Some other brands of ARFS I have done are just plain goofy - big heavy rudder and stabs -then- lpoorly done,light stringers on the belly - etc.,totally inconsistant, poor design work. structural integrity not in their vocabulary
We call em BARFS
