Whats the C50 like at inverted and rolling harriers?
Whats the C50 like at inverted and rolling harriers?
As for inverted, Kevin was doing some nice ones yesterday. I had a go, but need a bit more practise [&:]
Luke, we had a good day yesterday. I was running through my practise schedules, did a few more rolling circuits and 8s, and started on 4 point rolling circuits and 8s. Good thing I had a bit of height, managed to put in wrong rudder two or three times[X(]. I had to have a sit down after that.[&:]
We also decided that the Capiche is a bad influence - Kevin flew his big midwest Cap in the same way. He never used to do that

As Andy said, got my seduction FunMaster into the air. Very bonkers plane, but I'll start a thread when I have had a few more flights.

Absolutely...
I 53 would not be my first choice but it is ample...
The Boy flies one on a standard muffler and APC 12,25x3,75 and its fine..

C50 is glued back together thanks to trusty cyano and glass and carbon cloth !
Amazing stuff but my eyes are bleeding now !![X(]
That prop might be passed it... will need cutting down and re balancing...[
] dont know if I can be bothered - probably just switch to a new one...
Now, I must remember... Ive only got 9 ounces !

Would a 90 or 80 four stroke be a bit of an over kill in the capiche 50 as its only a heavier than the 70 4 stroke 10g-20g also will the price drop at sandown this year

Fibreglass is ok. When you say torque roll, its torque rolling with some wind right? Becuase Ive heard C50 can only prophang properly with wind.

I personally think an 80 or 90 size four stroke would be too heavy, unless its a superlightweight saito or something.
Think the YS 63 is the best power to weight raito for this plane, and the saito 72 slightly behind, but still really good.
For canopies,
I have used black PVC tape, but it needs replacing every 20 flights or so.
You could try cyanoing it on if you want it on to stay.......

screws are ok on my plastic one, doesnt help you much, i've heard of silicone sealent being used, a bead on the inside of the canopy and push home.
Also swapping the tape for solar trim + prymol = a longer lasting result.

Buggo - How about some pics when you are ready.... email them to IH.
Canopy... I go for a bit of cyano or a bit of epoxy to wood contact points, then use either protrim or actual film (soarspan, profilm etc) ironed into position around the canopy - this gives you a trim line and good adhesion and looks like its supposed to be there.
Im not a fan of canopoy screws either unless you actually need to have access. Carbon Cans are easy to do, its the clear ones you have to take care over, especially with cyano.
Luke PVC Tape - Shame on you...! Use some of the black film and your iron - stretch it round - much better !
Zep - Prop hanging.... those that say you need the wind are used to prophanging fun flys only. remember this is not a fun fly so it will give you more of a challenge to do this figure but also remember that when you DO do it with the C50 you are doing it for real and not cheating !
Torque rolls, unless very windy should not lean into the wind, they should be vertical and the C50 does it as well as most, but as Luke says - doing a t roll properly is down to you fingers and thumbs ! (and hald descent servos - now I have 3010s they are a lot easier = I no longer have time for a sherbert between stick inputs !)

I'm on the home straight now! Bench ran 2 tanks through the YS on sunday and bolted it in tonight. Also set up the throttle linkage.I put the throttle servo in the top of the upper tray so will have to have the canopy removable for access. Cut the cowl to fit next.I have the later type cowl and will try leaving the rears of the cheeks closed with a large air exit at the bottom rear. What have you all done, or have most of you got the open cheek type? The YS ran really well on the bench considering it was very rich. Pick up was excellent but it wasn't half smoky. It was quite shocking the way it cut out when out of fuel though,(Archie nows this
)seems to cut dead with almost a bang,no misfire or anything, on then off! I thought it had broke! but fired up fine once fuelled up.Is this a characteristic of YS's?
