The saitos need quite a lot of running in very very rich at first. I'd only start leaning out once youve put at least 1/2 gallon of irvine contest 10 or similar through it.

Mine arrived last week havent started it yet, probably going to be a winter project (no2 on the list of 8!) . Going to install Saito 80 out of crashed Funtana, I really miss that plane, hope the Capiche is an adequater replacement!

C50 will knock spots of Funtana... I tested em both and didnt complete my assessment on here because I figured folks would say I was biased... had very little positive things to say about it really...

I will def let everyone know how the JEN goes, as for RPM wise, I cant say because I never tached the Irvine, though my Irvine is conkered, it wont pull a C50 vertical! That or my C50 is hugely overweight.
Of course the JEN arriving is all subject to Royal Mail.....who always lose packages or deliver them years overdue.

When I weighed it SEPARATELY on KITCHEN SCALES......2.6 kg, but that cannae be right!
My Irvine, before it ran on ProSynth took a Tutor 40 vertical.

2.6kg is about 5.5lbs I think. I have had a go on a Funtana too. Not too impressed with it really, and it was quite badly setup too. Archie will know whose I mean. The C50 with the Fun wing is much better IMO.

yer, i dont like the funtana much either, I blame the idiot who sold it to me. main problem is knife edge and I think its too heavy.
I have only flown the capiche a couple of times but wasnt impressed cause it was badly set up. Archie will know whos I mean... Maybe I would like it more with a couple more goes?!
dont really like funflys much anyway.

Now boys calm....Tom...the bloke who sold it to you... did he recommend it to you or just respond to your request to buy it !!??
Problem I found with Funatana is that it does not know whethers its a fun fly or a aero plane.. okay for stalled manouvres but thats about it..
C50 with FFly wing is totally diff - not sure I can make a comparison here.
C50 with Aero wing is leagues ahead...
They handle the wind quite well too dont they Tom !?!

yer ok then pete, your probably right. dodgy dealer I rekon.
one good thing I can say about the funtana is I've been trying for ages to break it and havnt managed yet.

Ok I recieved my brank spanking new JEN .56 today, only minor paint scratches near mounting hole positions, due to Royal Mail I think.
Anyhow Is all very nicely casted, and I got a free TaiWwan Hobby glowplug because of the dealy, but they seem to have boxed a silncer too! Which baffled me. The instructions are better than Irvine for a start, proper running in instucions NOTHING is left to chance.
I might have got charged for the silencer, or got it by accident, or they might have given THAT as extra compensation because it kept taking longer and longer (its worth £5) but whatever it was, they give you allen keys, a manifold nuts and spring washers, with an Irvine they give you nowt.
Now performance iwse I have to wait, as I need a proper borer cause the crankshaft is a little meaty for an APC by a little and Ill get an 11 x 6 prop not to mention a new glowstart!
But from general quality and the instructions.......top stuff!
Pictures to come soon and hopefully it will be installed in the C50 tonight, if not during the week.
Oh they recommend 5% max with a shim in the head for every extra 5%. Fuel should be 20% oil with 2% castor, if synthetic it should be minumum 20% oil.
I got MT Sport 5 for this.

hhmmmm, yes, try the 12x6 APC,thats what used on my irvine 53.
u dont need (although id recomend it) a reamer for the prop, all i did with my west and its 13x4APC was put the prop on, then tighten it up, seems fine for me, although i wouldnt really recomend it, when you need to take the prop off, just pull the carb out, then wedge a tooth brush in the fuel inlet slot on the cranckshaft, give it a good heave then you can take it off. ive taken the prop off enough times now, and its like it been reamed as tis easy to take on and off but there the engine is very smooth, and no abnormal vibration associated with un balenced props

An 11 x 6 is what they recommend for running in after that Ill switch to a 13 x 6, I cant find any 13 x 4's. Id rather use a prop reamer, a friend did what you did Edible, his prop melted onto the crankshaft, not nice.
