Once again Luke showed us all how it is done. You are starting look really really good now Luke
. And you showed that C50 can be very smooth as well, those very very slow rolls from one end of the field to the other looked supperb. And some very nice low small harrier circuits as well, just a shame about damaging the elevator on that last one. Looked good flying the High Society as well. Good thing he has ordered a C140 already, easy to see he wants more of the 2m planes [8D].
The other good news as Luke said was that I managed a days flying without causing any damage at all. Five flights in total, three with the C50. All landings on the strip and under controll. No snapped spars, no damaged undercarriage.
And the last landing was a greaser of a harrier landing.
Still working on my orientation excersises, and it is starting to pay off. Also practising right turn rolling circles, and now getting almost as good as left turn ones.
Also made a few adjustments, and the harriers are more stable. I increased the elevator throw slightly, and raised the ailerons a tiny amount by turning out the clevis by half a turn on each side. Now far more stable.
Finally, the sealling of the hinge gap has made a noticable difference. Roll rate is higher, and response is crisper. Glad I finally did get round to doing it.
Well another good days flying, and the Capiche is still going strong

Luke, i have flown a few 2m planes and i agree, they fly sooo much better!
I have now put together part of the wing and it looks the absolute nuts! Im sorting out a colour scheme and heres what ive come up with, early stages tho,Its kinda based on the hype. Its purple (the metallic type on the cougar) or i may keep it blue like its come up on the scanner, White and a bit of red, oh yeh, yellow on the underside so i can see it in a blender lol.

Anyone else notice, edibles handwriting is almost as good as his spelling
by the way edible, are you udsing the IH decals or making ur own?
looks nice apart from that
As sprink said, great day at the field.
Luke seemed to enjoy the High society, judging by his expresion afterwards.
Just gonna have a go, but was wondering will i be able to attach a paint file to a post or will i have to change its format? If i can i will post my colourscheme on here in a mo...

Whats these then???
Still working on my orientation excersises,
So I decided to work just on this for a bit to improve my rudder and elevator control, hopefully to get to the instinctive level that normal flying is (ie I think where I want the plane to go, not what inputs are needed to get there).
So I have gone back to just flying circuits and figure eights, only this time I am doing normal and inverted control line turns, and knife edge, both on left and right side. Aileron is only used to maintain attitude, and to change from one to the other. The plan is that as I get better, I'll change from one attitude to another more and more frequently, and therefore improve my skills further. A couple of times on sunday I managed to put in wrong rudder.[&:]
The good thing about the Capiche is that it is so stable and neutral with rudder inputs that it is purfect for this type of practise. (there, got back on subject in the end).

I agree with you Sprink,
my flying has improved since I started practising the IMAC sequences. They dont have to be particularly challenging to fly, but getting them accurate and geometrically right means you have to constantly use all controls to make minor adjustments in all sorts of attitudes. It also forces you to trim your model as accurately as you can.
My rudder correction is much better now and its starting to become instinctive.

ASM, is you C50 finished. I cant remember, is that the colour scheme your going to use
I have everything now, 4x 3010 1x SD200 1x Saito 72 etc so now i just need to find the time to finish it. I just felt like posting my colourscheme last night cos i had time and wanted to learn how to post pics (never done it before).
Meant to say edible, like ur pilot

Sprink that seems like a good idea. I was doing it a bit yesterday with my Limbo dancer and i feel my prop hanging is really inproving. Still a long way to go tho. Got Realflight G2 on order, that should help too.

Ultimate, I to have found when doing manouvers I suddenly realise that I am inputting rudder corrections without realising I am doing it.
Andy, I also do this on G2. However, the simulator will only get you so far, hence doing it for real. Still I crashed a lot on G2 at first, so it certainly helps. I have recently set up a mix to input a slow roll (as if the plane is out of trim) so that I can concentrate on just elevator and rudder while I fly around. This makes things very interesting!

ASM, see if you can cancelll that order for G2, for two reason i say get AFP
1) its cheeper
2) its far more realistic on the 3D side of things

Aerofly Professional.
Doesn't look quite a realistic as G2, but is supposed to be better for 3D stuff as it has a better aerodynamics programme or something (easier to do stalled type flying such as harriers)

ummm i like those, might have to try it, graphics promised for tomorrow btw
i was doing some other stuff with my cougar other than dunking the tail, rolling circuits are getting better and some inverted flight.
Think Cartman neesd a little more practice, he was doing a cracking display with his pattern plane, real low, then he flipped it over and put in the wrong rudder input... ALMOSTTTTTTT lost it, lucky boy

i have been practising my rudder only, sprink makes a good point about knife edging with the belly towards you. it teaches you a lot about the correct rudder input. hopefully it will be instinctive one day.
when i see al greenfield fly low rolling circles/loops and torque rolls etc it just boggles me how he knows which way to move the stick?

I've noticed when you use Cyano over clingfilm you pull it off and theres some kind of clingfilm stuff stuck on.
Any ideas to get rid of it?
And whats the min size of board to use?
Thanks

i use the stuff you get from WH smiths, what you get is flat cyno which you simply sand off.
Cartman, he doesnt think about it, it's just instinct. thats how i can drive my rc car around a tight indoor track at such speeds and just skim the edges where i need to. now if only my flying had that much instinct in it.
