eddy, if your that keen blow up the plans of the 50, or scale down the 140 ( probably better ) for the 90 then build it your own way.
like wise for the 25 size. I'd be tempet to build it the 140 way even for the 25!
but we all know the real one will be out before yours is done
just kidding with ya.

At least I now a lot more on the Cap. But will have to wait a few months to get the cash. Although I know exactly when I'll gettit.....(hehehe). Although I was wondering I didn't get good anough look at the CNC sheets. The ply parts seem to have little tabs which need to be cut off am I right?

Cheers Archie, I will have to get my finger out and get it finished then wont I. No excuses left an all that! Can you tell me, or any of you other lads, where the best place to put the tank is with the YS,cos the wing mounts look like they will stop it going on the C of G, but with the tank rear against the front wing mount the tank is only a few inches back from the front bulkhead.Jim

jimbo, if your servos are at the rear then the tank will be best placed at the place where you stated for cg benefit,im running saito 72 with servos at rear and the cg still came out slightly tail heavy even with full tank off fuel.

I have YS 63, you cant get the tank right on the cg.
Pull it back as far as it will go... i.e. up to F...4 ? the one thats at the lead edge of the wing.
I use a SLEC Maxi 9 0z and it fits nicely. This brings the back of the tank close to the cg point so its a better set up that many models allow of this size..

What would be the best prop for an Irvine .53 on the Cap 50? What are good servos for someone looking to improve? I was thinking 3004s all round or does anyone have any better suggestions?

The futaba 3010 are really good for their price. I think you get 6.8 kg torque at 6v, the centre much better than hitecs, and they are only £20 each.
Can't remember what the boys using.
I was advised to get a strong coreless servo(hitec hs-945 or even better futaba) for extra reliablility on the elevator think the extra money if worth it just to be safe.

Thanks Luke. I cant spend too much money but the all compsoite and 3010s are soooooooooo tempting. Whats the best combonation of prop with an Irvine .53? I want the best performance I can get but Im not expecting prop hanging with the aero wing.

Actually if you want some 3D ability I thin the APC 12,25 x 3,75 is best on a two stroke, like the I 53
With the higher rpm it pulls enough to stop slow speed stall, and give reasonable forward speed for smooth aero, but also give you good blade depth for 3D
For what its worth IH is running a deal on a 3010 outfit for the C50 and they do the props too !

Thanks again. I can probably get the 4 3010's at my local hobby shop. I already have a servo for the throttle. Is a computer transmitter really needed? I have a skysport6 which works just fine and usually when it comes to reducing rates I just use the dual rates switch.

Computer radios, although not needed, will make it nicer to fly. Adding expo and mixing will make anything fly smoother. You can get futaba computer radios cheep theese days, the ff6 is about 100, and the 6exa (?????its the newer one which only does fixed wing) is about 60, tx only w/nicad
What do people with YSs use for props? im thinking a 13x4 but its this too fine a pitch, what about a 12x6? Im not sure.
But as im supposed to be doing 2 courswork essays at the moment ive got to get off here and do em
