Now dont disturb him... he's busy building !

I expect the first production 140ex will be complete on the build front this afternoon.

Then its installation and covering time.....

Philly... he dont use 30%.... its 20% !

I dont believe 13x4W is a good choice for the C50, and dont be too disturbed about the prop hanging... its will not be as good as a fun fly cos it aint one...

You should find torque rolls and all that stuff better than a funu fly though.

8.50 for that prop ! let me see what does it say on my list... mmm. 5.45... oh well....

Cabane.... no canopy change Im aware of... and there should be a cut line on it so they should all be the same !

shift + 3 = £
if only it was that easy in real life

Malcolm told me 30%, then i was happy i got the West,.... which when i rang Weston he said the 13x4 was too small, use the 13x4W have to admit, the engine is fine on it. but i think the 13x4 has the edge overall..

TR i cant get even on my Cougar yet, tho its an extension of prophanging, so i need to get the C50 to hang before i can start TR. at the moment i find my self either out of control and wing rocking, or climbing slightly. Might have to try the 12.25x3.75 again but for everything else i didn't like it.
very windy here today, 18mph, but going out in a min, lets see how the floaty Capiche likes this

How close are you to the 20 entries figure Archie? i'm hoping to get my stickers tomorrow, but when your getting freebies and homers you can't moan when it ain't done yet. hope i don't get it done too late. had to get new 3 new rolls of film just so i had enough to do the trim lines

in that case, remove all your keyboard buttons, push random ones and replace the key with that symbol there. or just swap your keyboard settings to UK not USA

my rudder is -80% on HIGH 3D rates.

good news is, the Capiche is an all weather plane, tho the smoothness is lost to the bumps being lightly loaded. landings alot easier too
i found my stall turns tended to weathercock around a bit.
Jamie had a go, called it class and flew the tank dry then deadsticked it in long grass.. wheels came off again. guess i'm going to metal bolts, just that small plate worries me.. would be happier if it was wider and had a better glue footprint.

looking at our rules for the upcoming fly for fun, it'll be great for the aero moves seeing as the winner last year used a Rapier.. 4 point roll just spot landing is a worry at the mo. dropping a Cougar deadstick on the spot is much easier than gliding in a Capiche Maybe i'll get 6" soft foam wheels for that event

I take it you really glued the plate in?
Did you use cyano or wood glue?
Cyano is renowned for being weaker glue.

i would off used white PVA wood glue. what i do is find every scrap off wood off the break and find out where they all go, then i get the big bits an PVA em in, strap them down and leave em overnight. in the morning (or wenever) get the small parts and place them in place, squirt in a bit of thin cyno and thats them, run around the big bits with thin cyno and put some carbon tows over and thin cyno them in. Done!

cyno only, might be able to get some wood glue in there.
i've just seen and had far too many planes with bigger plates rip out with little provoking. not saying it WILL come out.. i just have a healthy fear, tho after the wheels came off when it dead sticked in the long stuff, it's gonna do that sometime again with the spants on. so i guess it needs those metal bolts.
watched it drop about 4" today on a lumpy windy landing, that UC dun give much, i could see the shock just go right through it. gonna check my spats and see what size wheels i can get away with to help matters. we can't all land on runways or cricket pitches

IAN: you can't PVA plastic wing bolts. the plate hasn't gone anywhere yet

were you using foam wheels? They absorb shock a bit better.
The 6mm plastic bolts i use take a hell of a lot of punishment before they break. The plate on ours is really strong, so hopefully it wont happen with it.

The wheels dont have much clearance from the capiche spats, so that could be the problem. maybe the wheels need mounting further out from the spat.

Guess i will find out when my Saito 72 deadsticks. On saturday i had a dead stick with my cub during knife edge at 8 feet! luckily still made the runway. Hopefully i will have the same luck as the Capiche.

yep, 2.5" ones, tho the foams a little hard ( ripmax ones )

i've got 5 i think.. the black ones took more than the clearish

no spats on today, they haven't caused a problem when they were on, other than tearing through the wing. however this was the reason i was surprised both sides are cut. i would have thought this was left to the user so you can raise them up. seeing as i've redone them i'll add some material so i can do that

I know they look cool, but loose the spats when flying from grass more than 1" long.

Heres a picture I took of mine today, seeing as the sun was shining, but i could get any flying pics as I was alone up the field. She now has about 10 flights under her belt. I was given a tip the other day for cleaning the gunch off models, try the Mr Muscle Orange wipes, top banana.

I just received the first pics of the proto kit version complete in the build... Looks magnificent despite no canopy, cowl, etc...

it will be featured in the newsletter due out this week...

its so exciting I can hardly keep myself contained.... this will be the one that Dave Stephens will be flying E power...

nothing like lots of prep time and practice !!

When thats done we must spend time reviewing and corrcting any niggles that cropped up with the first cut of the production version and then get a few built to iron out any other minor issues that might have been overlooked to ensure the build works nice and easily...

Im one of the lucky few that have flown this big bird and Im well excited about having one.... trying to negotiate with some builders for me at the mo.... I know it aint too hard but I aint got time to knock one up...or two.... oh indulgence is fine... !!

more news to come in due course....but after the FLYCAPICHE Newsletter

GW...

We have a newsletter that goes out monthly from the Capiche website and the deal is that subscribers get news first... so unfair to post here despite the stonking job the Baron has done of the model.

The newsletter will go out this week and the website updates very soon after. Then Ill open the gates on posting something here...

regards
