Just did a quick calculation....With the set up I want everything will come up to £325. Now any suggestions to cut that down?

Its the complete composite kit with 4 3010s

er, believe it or not that not bad for a whole new plane. If you want it cheeper do wot i did and i got the carbon UC, clear canopy and grp cowl, that allot cheeper.

I guess your right engine but what I have been paying upto now has been much less. So for just a plane its a bit more than what I'm used to. Glad I dont have to buy an engine...I think I'll raise up some money first as I dont have that much. But I probably will get my Cap ready by may (!)

From what I've head and seen the Cap is great but inspite of this I will most likelybe the first at my field to get one. So should be interesting.

edible,if your thinking off a 13x4 on a ys go wideblade, but better stil the 13x6 is best for this engine in my set up.

Default Capiche 50

what fuel are you using mike? According to archie in the flip 3D review, the YS likes to rev and the 13x4 is better than the wide, so, the 13x6 must be even worse.......

im using yamada mix 20,20 i get this from probuild.going back to the prop size, dont forget youve two different planes there which require, different throttling.i found with the 13x4 wide on my 63 in the seductio freestyle it seemed to be more flat out than on lower rpm, when i put 13x6 on it tottaly transformed it and was better on 3d transition between manouveres.

13x4 sport is too little blade for the YS 63 when using high nitro... you must use the 13x4W at least, however, as Mike points out it depends on the model

The Flip 3D has a fun fly section, and a very forward thick one at that, and so this prop works. It is not so good on the Capiche...

13x6 is better here, and I suspect that the 14x5N will be even better but I have not tried it with this model yet

Just started covering my C50 tonight (whilst watching telly and drinking a lovely red ) first time I've ever used profilm today and I'm very impressed. All tail feathers done, and ailerons - should finish it all by tomorrow night. Snippets of purple on the carpet everywhere tho!

Is the 13x4w the best prop with the West 50t1?

from wot ive seen of west 50t1's they seem best with the 13x4w but that was in a hype 3d.
where can i find archies flip3d review? Like the plane but dunno much about it.

finished covering the wing, tail feathers already done. also put the stickers on the wing, really nice to apply and they look good too

Now im going to do the aileron linkages as i want a bit of a break from covering.

Zep pilot what engine you using? Everything i need to finish has now cost me about 450- 500 quid. Thats w/ saito 72 and 3010s all round. Only thing i havent bought is a reciever as i will use one of my othr ones.

I dont know of anyone that has used the 13x4W on this model on a two stroke...

Personally, I think I might go with something else.... its not an ideal prop on the four strokes but then you are looking at lower rpm.

Try it and let us know, but dont forget, C50 is not a Fun Fly so dont expect it to fly like Hype on this blade..

3010s have been FLYING out the door !

I got all the ones with broken boxes ! Just enough to kit out my C50 in replacement of the orrible 591s.

I have the APC 14x5N on now too so as soon as I have tried it I shall let y'all know...

Only down side Luke is that it falls into the Pattern pricing ball park at APC !!! price jumps up to £10.26 a prop which is actually pretty cheap compared to most shops, but even then still a big jump from the 13" sizes...

Still its worth the money if the performance improves in my view

AsM,

It seems we're pretty much at the same stage. Wing now finished today - took longer than I thought but then this is my frst covering job. Profilm is so good I can't believe it looks so good first time! Are you using balsa Lock or just putting it on? What covering are you using? What did you use for the stickers - or did you just shove them straight down !!?

Archie,

I have the West 50t1 with the 13x4w (but then you already know that ) and 4 x 3010s, 1 x 3001 too ready to go in, but am not sure now whether this is the best choice of prop/engine. Phillys seemed to go ok but that was 13x4N, Should I think about swapping for a YS63?

You lot been busy on here today haven't you.
Can you believe, I had to go to 4 model shops to find some 2 pack fuel proofer, Cr**py or what! On the Plus side, I got 2 gallons (US) of Coolpower Green ( think its 20 %) and the bloke in the shop mucked up and charged £17 a pot. He said it was £20 each.Talking of fuels,my local shop, that specialises in cars, stocks formula Irvine 20, 25 & 30% for reasonable money. This is mainly synthetic, so has anyone tried it in their YS's.I used it before (5%) on my lazer and ST90 and it was good.
Archie, Your gonna try the 14x5, is that mainly for the normal wing ,or FF?

I know someone who used formula irvine in his YS 120. Worked ok, but it is still 20% caster so not ideal. Fully synth for me for all my engines.

I think Irvine fuel is 2% castor & 18% oil total Sprink( In their catalogue). Wildcat advertise 80/20 synth/castor with 18% total in their fuel also, but maybe their YS brew is pure synth.
cheers Jim

14x5 for the YS 63 (and possibly the Saito 72) on the Aero Wing... Mainly because 6" of pitch is flying it too fast !
However, this prop will also be better with the FF wing than the 13x6, although with the 13 or 14x4W it will be even better with the FF wing.
I think the 14x5N will be a good compromise but if you want the best out of each wing separately I think you will need to be willing to swap props same time... no big deal !

DONT use ANY Castor in YS

Hercmate... you know I will always say the YS is a better solution.!!

But if you dont have the readies then go with the West and try diff props..

If you want a YS you know where to go

Formular irvine is 18% "Klotz Supertechniplate". But Klotz dont make a "Supertechniplate". Model technics take normal Klote Techniplate and add castor. Final mix is 20% caster/80% Techniplate to make supertechniplate. http://www.modeltechnics.com/ingredi...gredients.html gives this definition (took me by surprise when I saw it). Means formula irvine is 14.4% synth, 3.6% castor.

Wildcat YS 20/20 is 20% techniplate, no castor (Wildcat do synth/caster blends called premium and premium extra as you say).

Don't get me wrong, formula irvine is good stuff, but for high performance engines such as YS Saito and West, fully synth is the way to go, assuming you know how to run and tune an engine.

My wing is pretty much finished, just need to cover the tips but will do that when i have laterally ballanced the whole thing... Mounted the servos last night and also made the linkages 4 the ailerons.
I havent used balsaloc cos im using profilm, my first time. Dont think i ever need to use anything else, makes solarfilm seem like sh#*e
I will use balsaloc on the fuz cose grahamd (i think) said film doesnt stick well to liteply.

For the stickers i taped down the top in trhe right place, folded them up and thenpealed off the backing. Only trouble i had was a few bubbles on the big Capiche 50 one, but they hardly show.

If i was going for a 2- stroke id say the West 50t1, never tried one but would be interested too. I love webras so if these are even better...

What, sprink, youve got me confused. I use bekra 10%. Good fuel which is made by model technics. Its got klotz in it, does this mean its also got castor in it?!?!?!?!

i wont be using that for my YS tho (im not that thick) ill use MT YS20/20

No castor in Bekra - it is a mix of EDL and regular Techniplate, both synthetic. Cant say much about what EDL is, it is developed by MT.

Think to watch for is if it is "Regular" techniplate (fully synth) or "Super" techniplate (has castor in it).

I'd best be sticking to the Coolpower then hadn't I! Got the 2 gals now anyway, was just thinking for the future.Mind you, I like the coolpower green better than the irvine pink. JUST KIDDING! I'm not a great lover of caster anyway.Just try running in a Moki slobbering rich on 20% of the stuff an it puts you off

I have an Irvine .53 currently in another aircraft but when I get my Capiche in a few months time It'll go in the Capiche.

What kind of performance can that engine give me?
