West 50 does seem like a good engine from what I have heard, but I havn't used it. Jen 56, I've seen it and stuff but again I can't comment, I'd recommend the Irvine, superb engine, first flick, and not too pricy. Then again thats my opinion, I'd have picked a YS 63 if I didn't already have an Irvine.
That kit is just smiling at me saying "you know you want to", I have some cheap board some where but no table except kitchen and I really can't use the kitchen table for something the size of the Capiche. Not that it wouldn't fit but I would be sure to damage it moving all the stuff out every time is dinner.

Phil will be pleased, no more 'gay' red.

Think the new J'en 56 is the budget engine of choice now. Not that I would have either - not four stroke.

Good news and bad news.
Last night I started the kit, it was 12 AM and late, so I was tired but I can never get to sleep, I cut out all the fuz parts and it was alot of fun. Much more fun than an ARTF! Anyway, I cutted them all out, looked through plans and instructions etc, then sandwiched glued ALL the wing bolt plates togther, yes, I f***** it up, already.
So I can't cut them apart, the epoxy is too strong, Ive broken 3 blades trying, I can't make more, I don't have th recources.
The only option I can think of is ring up and pay them some money to send me the sheets with the WB plates, I can't buy whole fuz kit just for those plates.
I knew what I had to do! I guess cause it was 1:30 AM I was not thinking straight....
Anyway, I started on what I could of the fuz by using a bare kitchen table and apples to weigh the plan down, this is amazing! Everything clicks in just fine! As soon as I get those plates sorted I can get the fuz over and done with.
Excellent kit but I'll need some help.
If IH won't send me the plates, I will have to get someone to make 'em, anyone???

Thanks Phil. I can't make plates. I have no saw, vice, scroll saw. Preferably two liteply and two birch is best. I wonder is IH will send me the sheets if I give them some money, Archie?

Debonder for epoxy? I thought that was only for cyano, well, I won't be able to do much cause I damaged them from trying to cut them free, thanks for the tip though.
Phil if you do have those I'll send you some money, if not, I'll see what IH can do, if they can't do anything, hmmm.
Thanks anyway, Im itching to continue!

well i had a look... and i've found two... weird cause i thought there was 4??? i've found the tip jigs also so there should be enough spare liteply there to make the other two up OR you can hack and sand till you've got one good one on the one you do have.
don't worry about tools, you can cut liteply ok with a knife.
now i gotta find your addy.

well, youll prob say i am bull sh*ting here. but this is how it went
i took off for the first flight since the UC was ripped out, i pulled a few feet up, did a quick roll, pulled vertical. about 20-30 foot up i did a quick rolling harrier circle then tumble, still about 25 foot up, it entered a inv spin. well i tried to exit it but it hit the ground with a crack. well, i laughed, turned around to the pits said 'o dear, i didnt want it to do that', then i dawned on me. "F**K"!!!!!! well i looked over the plane then i found the rudder had about 60-70deg at on the rudder at center stick. we bent the rudder a bit and found if we pushed it hard enough the gears would jump! not strip tho, so it must have jumped on the tumble sending it into a spin. withing 25 feet i couldnt do anything much to stop it, far less workign out to add full opposite rudder and trim to make it about 10 deg of rudder. if i did do that it would have only hit the deck harder, of if i managed to exit the spin i prob wuld have just lety go off the rudd thinking it was flying ok just for it to crashagain.
o well, it happens to the best of us.

No reply from IH yet, but it hasn't been 48 hours and I sent the e-mail bank holiday so I'll wait a little longer to hear what they have to say.
Whats the best way to cut the cowl? Index do some cheap tool kit like a dremel, but it doesn't cost £120, I might use that.
Btw the hole on F1 IS there, It was covered in some wood dust thats all.
