Yeah Barry... when I first moved the "Do" inside... Let's see when was that
a few months[X(].... I used push that grat outside the room and close the
door.... But now she rest around it.. Of course I'm waiting for the day she
starts kneading.... And thank's Barry.... I think part of my slowness is......
That's the longest my "Do" has K.E.ed
CeeGee... Hey I have the tank laying in it's housing
... Oh I did make a new
landing gear block..... Man I'm tired now....
Gary... Yeah... What Yak thread
.... By the way... That's right.. That's one more
fix.... If I ever get parts......
Well the other two planes are on the charger, When I get back I will do a bit
more... Our funfly is coming up... It will be ready then 4 sure.... And with the
100......Man I think it'll be sweet..... Hope the wings stay on....

Good Morning All!
U Can Do is ready except canopy and a minor radio problem[&o] I know most of you use Futaba gear. If anyone can help me figure out JR set-up. Airlerons are plugged left into Channel 6(aux 1), right into channel #2 (Aile), flaperons activated, wanted to use spoilers per Barry's great idea. Problem is that i'm getting uneven throws on airerons. Ton of up, very little down. I'm think it is in the travel adjustment for flaps, not sure.

Oh, that's right. wires and mirrors. I forgot....... [:-] Yeah, I can do that.........[X(]
Ron, I did notice the tank in there. It seems like the glue bottles are in different places too. [:-]
Dougwill, Sounds like something in your programing. Gjeffers has a JR. He probably knows whats wrong.....

ok doug, it says in the manual that the final travel adjustments must be made in the dual rate function, so go there and adjust the high and low seprate to where you need.

Another nice looking U Can Do. Good luck on your maiden. We'll be pulling for ya. You are really going to be pleased with this airplane, I'll bet. They are sweet. At that weight you may want gjeffer or raideron's power. But if your elevation is below 3000' you'll be fine.THanks

Gary Got the radio set up. Just keep changing things until it started working. Wished I had a y-harness yesterday and I woudn't have even bothered. Not ready for spoilers yet. Works pretty cool though. If you come up with a precedure to set up that makes sense, let me know. Not sure why plane came out on heavy side. Saito 80 Wt. around 20 oz., 1000 mah battery must be pretty heavy. It is located behind throttle servo up against former.
Barry thanks for the good luck. There are five UCD's at our field already.
Doug
Spud Thanks! Keep your head down.

There are 5 UCDs at my field also. Unfortunately they are all mine and I only have one now. Thanks
Barry
PS: Some of your weight is in the engine. The 82 only weighs 16 ozs.

Barry What are your old UCDs buried at the field?
Good point on the Saito 82. Never noticed the wt. difference before. If I had put the 82 on, battery could have been moved up a bunch. Wish I had an 82. It was a choice between 65 or 80.

dougwill...Yeah mine are buried at the field and I keep what parts I can use. New tally, (4) 46 and (2) 60. But I'm definetly being more careful now. But these planes inspire so much confidence and I love to fly them so much and early on I really crashed a bunch of them while learning. As far as I know, I have the record for purchasing the most UCDs. I bought 8. But I don't have anyone to teach me, just figure it out on my own. I was able to repair two of them. But a long journey for me, but I'm learning. I've been doing this for just a little over two years. I've went though a lot. But the best part has been the people I've met and now call my friends. The worst part...the people I've met. Anyways, it's been an adventure.
Thanks
Barry

hey guys, just something i did that worked out real well.
i glued a triangle piece of wood with a hole the size of my vent tubing and ran the tubing down to my lg and i now have almost, and i mean almost noooo oil on my plane after 6 flights, making cleanup quick and easy
i will use one piece of tubing when i get a piece long enough

Gary... Looks good... Funny you should post this now... But until I get the "Do"
put back together I put the 100 in the 4*60 and have been flying it and the
profile, Anyway on Sat. I was telling some at the field how I love the way the
Saito has been running, But hate all the oil that comes out the vent and all on
the bottom of the plane and one of the guys there said to do the same as you've
done except in just drilled a hole for the tube in the L.G.... I'll do that on the "Do"
but will leave the 4* as is... The Mag is very clean:-)..... Have a Great One!!

I'm ready to start putting together my fifth .46 Ucando as well. I also have a .60 but haven't built that one yet. Number 1 was lost due to pilot error, radio failure in number 2, horizontal stabilizer broke off on number 3, and lost my fourth one yesterday in a fly away. I have been able to supply a few spare parts to others at the field, about 10 people have these at my club but I've by far had the most failures. I've been using Eclipse receivers but think I"m going to go back to a name brand like Futaba. I have a spare already I haven't built but may take some time off from the Ucando for a while. It is a great flying plane, though.

good to hear from ya Dave!! good luck and if you have any tips post them here, thanks.
just curious but when you cut the covering from your horizontal stab did you use a hobby knife or soldering iron? there were a few lost early on but havent heard of any losses lately.

Gary great idea. Wish I had thought to put tubing on vent before mounting engine. Not sure I can get it on without removing engine.
Well maiden flight will have to wait. Engine would not run right. High speed needle valve was not working right. ran it out 5 turns without engine getting richer. Must have been some sort of blockage. blew lines out, checked valve settings, changed glow plug. Seems ok now. Will see Wed. if weather holds. Lifes not fair.

On the 46 I'd use either the Saito 100, Saito 82, or the OS91. Seriously, I think the OS91 is way too much engine. Gjeffers and Raideron use 100. They love 'em. I used the 82 and was perfectly satisfied, at least until the other guys put the 100s on. But mine will do anything with the 82. I watch my weight. I've built several of these planes. Each time I got a little lighter. My last one weighs 5lbs 12ozs. At that weight the 82 flys the pants off the plane. In fact, I don't even install the pants anymore. The 82 just blows them off anyway. I fly at 4800' elevation so I'm at a disadvantage there but I'm still more than satisfied with the 82. And one other plus, I think it's easier to balance.
Thanks
Barry

Does anyone have any opinions on fuel filters, type, location, and problems that might arise on UCDs? Seems as if pressure line could put debris into tank.

I use a cheap ($3) Dubro fuel filter from Tower Hobbies. I install it in the line that goes to the carb. I also think my clunk has a filter in it. However, I usually take the screen out of the filter because it clogs.
Thanks
Barry
PS: Help me out here guys. Today for some reason I've been thinking I should get a Giant UCD. I've never wanted one before but I've been reading that thread and it seems lilke everybody loves that plane. I don't have an engine, or even enough servos, but I've been thinking about it. Give me reasons not to buy this plane.
thanks
