Hey Kokamo, Have fun with your maiden tomorrow. Don't forget to check your control surface directions to make sure they're going the right. You could have an instructor maiden it if you are nervous about flying it for the first time. I've done that many times. Then he has just handed me the controls to fly it around and bring it in for a landing. Takes all the worry away. My latest UCD I maidened myself...........[8D] It felt good.............

Good job Cee Gee. Sounds like you have your problems solved.
Thanks,
Barry
Thanks,
Barry
It's weird when I can't fly it due to some goofball problem.

CeeGee, I can't hardly wait to feel that gooooood feelin'. Hope it's not a bad feelin'. I was just looking at the weather forecast for tomorrow and it's at about 80% chance of thunderstorms. Too bad it's my day off tomorrow and it'll be the only chance this week. That SUX!!!! Oh well. Like I said in an earlier post, I got all summer to maiden this thing. Man, I was out in the shop this afternoon cleaning up my HPI Savage monster truck and decided to check the control surface directions on the UCD .... everything was going the right way. I double checked it again just to be sure. I guess you can never check too much hu? I (myself), (me), (NOBODY BUT ME) will be maidening this UCD. I had a problem with the last guy that maidened my last one, lets just say it didn't land in one peice. PM and I'll splain it to ya.
ANYWAYS, wish me luck, I may need it to get the rain out and away from the feild. Our feild is in sort of a low lying area and when it just barely rains, it floods the feild. I flew my trainer out there right after a 10 minute moderate to heavy shower and I had to dodge huge puddles. I ended up landing in one of them and flooded out the engine after the plane flipped over and landed in about 4" of water. That was a horrible day. Didn't hurt anything tho.
Sees ya!

Kokamo, The UCD is a very easy plane to fly. Just to make it as fool proof as possible here's some help. Go on a no wind or very light wind day, make sure your engine is running flawlessly, (you don't want any deadsticks on take off), keep your throws on low rates, (at least at first), make sure your idle isn't too high or you'll have a hard time landing it, (it really likes to float up), get it up in the air in a gradual climb and get up high enough to trim it out, then just go for it. [8D] Once you get it flying you won't believe how fun it is.................

out of fuel again on my fourth flight [:@] .... Just got her
over the fence and she dropped into the weeds. But all
stayed in one piece:-) Who said the landing gear was
weak

im opening the gate on the back fourty right now Ron, sorry but this wind will be there tomorrow, i might be off tomorrow if it rains, that screws up my weekend, Brock (my son) will be here fri to mount his saito 91 and break it in so maybe he will be able to fly sat, if it dond blow. my 100 flys 9min easy and when i put the 11oz tank in fri i should go to 12 min.i always use a timer because when im towards the end im always low and inverted and if i run out it might scare me[sm=eek.gif]

DR1 well thats a thought. You have the ele & rud for it. Your going to have to run full span ail that are at least 25% of the cord of the wing[ on all three wings ]. You know it just might work. Might have to find some depron & make a foamie DR1 to see if it will work. Who's with us ? We can start a 3D flying circus. I'm in , sign me up coach.
On second thought, I just want my 15-4's a tru-turn & some clear air for my UCD.

Raideron, Did you mention earlier in the thread that you downloaded UCD for AFP? I downloaded the file but it didn't work. I didn't see a waive file with it so I wasn't sure if that was the problem or not.

Well things didn't go as planned today. I needed to get tags for the new truck, no problem, went to the tax office to get the title transfered, they wanted a green slip from the inspection station. So I went to get it inspected....just my luck, wouldent pass cause someone took off the catalityc converter....sooo... I set up an appointment with the exhaust shop and was there until about 5:30, by then the winds were picking up and I didnt want to have anything to do with that. Sorry to go on and on but my day went totally oposite of what I wanted. So maybe this sunday I might be able to squeeze somthing in. Now that I think about it, I might be able to do somthing friday morning hmmmmmmm............ I'll keep ya posted.
CeeGee......I have realflight G2......is that what you are trying to get a UCD file for? Lemmie know, I want one too!

Spud,
or, just extend the ailerons to all three wings to make up for the surface needed. There should be enough lift on those wings. I am going to build it up in a fierce fashion and see if I can't get it to do a few things.

Hi again CeeGee, Not sure if you were looking at RC-sim, I saw
a few skins for the UCD But you need the main program.. I'm
not sure but I think I got it here:
http://www.aeroflypro.com/afpdownloa...6/ucando46.zip
Hope it works...
hockeyrules99... Which Yak profile did you get?? I always wanted a E.F.
profile, (got tired of waiting) Or one from OMP... But never got one...
But now putting together one from Kangke it's a Sukhio SU-26 3D ARF....
Got a great price on it... So I got it to play a bit lower:-)
Yeah that crash is sad, any crash puts a hurt on you... But something like
that..... But there all numbered, just the way it is.... If people thinks not,
they better find another hobby.... Because it Will happen, You just never
know when:-(... Have a Great Day people:-)
As Gary said..... Darn Wind.......

Hey John... I hear that's a great profile... I almost got that one a while
back while waiting for the E.F. Yak proflie to come in... But I'm not to
sure on Kits:-(, So I really wanted the EF model, OMP did not have
ARF's at that time.. I guess I'm glad I did not get the kit, I have been
messing with this Kangke ARF and I'm not getting to much done... I'm
always over thinking things, So nothing gets done.... I called Kangke
twice now because they say to C.A. the wing on without taking the
covering off in that area... Well they won, That's the way I'm doing it
because they said if I have a wing failure and the covering was
removed the model will not be replaced... So we'll see.... I wanted to
use a YS-63, then I was looking at a 50SX also, But I'll just try my
46FX/tower muffler first.. Anyway have fun!!.... Back to C.A.ing my
wing over the covering..... Still does not seem right:-(

My UCANDO is here!!
So now i have a few more questions. My Somethin Extra bit the dust last week so I am planeless. This is the second week of the season here and I am dying to fly. I need to run to the hobby store tomorrow, but none of the LHS's around here are very good. I need to decide how to set up my servos.
I have a Futaba 6exa with th3 4.8 battery, 4 3004 ball bearing servos and some spare s3003s laying around. I figured i could use a 3003 on the Throttle. That leaves me with 4 s3004s and 1 3003(non ballbearing). I dont know if i could find a 90 oz servo around here (can drive an hour to maybe get one) and dont know if my wallet can afford one.
3004s and 3003s both show 44 oz with the 4.8 or 57 with the 6.0
Should I:
1. Get a 90 oz Servo no matter what i have to do.
2. Put 2 3003s on the elevator and use 1 of the 3004s for the rudder.
3. Put a 3003 on the rudder (I am really just going to be sport flying it for now).
4. Any combination, but get a 6.0 V battery to get more torque.
Also i am going to try and get the 6exa to do the Ailevator so i dont need a reversing y harness, will this work, best method?
If i am going to fly Saturday i need to go to the hobby store tomorrow, any help will be greatly appreciated.
