Barry Go for the big UCD. A member at our field has all three and really loves the Giant. He has a new 220 Saito on it. Sooo much power that at an idle it moving down the field. Monokote covering doesn't appeal to me as much as 46 size. [:-]

Barry............. Family...... Keep the Love together:-).... I know that's what
you wanted to hear........ No room??? If I remember correctly... You have
a spare 46....... I can help you out and pay for shipping
UCD.... Still sleeping... But will be ready for our fun fly... Profile and 4* used
3/4 of a ga. of fuel this morning
.... Got a first today
... A low and slow
K.E. at about 4' on the profile... Can't say it was pretty... But she came home.
Heard our prices on fuel may/is going up by $5[:@] (Hobby people).. Just a
heads up... Anyone else jear anything about this??? Anyway, I better get a few
cans of 20/20 tonight at the meeting.....
dougwill.... I use filters on the fuel line to the carb. And one on my can to the TK.
For me any filter will do.....
Jerry C.... Even tho... I'm going "Gary" Power hungery with the Saito 100.... I
think the Satio 82 is a great setup!!
davemartin88... It's always a "best match" with the brands..... But I'm haveing
no problems with Hitec gear matching with my Airtronics gear... And I really enjoy
the savings....

how did you guess CEEGEE, that powerhouse was tested at Dryden flight Research and Test Center at Edwards AFB only 70 miles to the south
Jerry, i really love my 100 and its not hard to Balance with a 1100ma 6volt, but if i were startin with scratch i would go with the 82, i dont think there is really as much power difference as everyone thinks and there is not much in weight difference either, so i guess what im trying to say is the 82 would be easier because you can use the stock mount but with the 100 you really need to use the 60 size mount and the cowl is harder to match, but it can be done, which ever way you decide to go we (all here) will help you with anything you need
Doug, great planes makes a good inline filter[
U CAN DO IT BARRY, so do it BIG
Ron, i just got 4 gal of pm 15%at Vegas for 12.99 a gal, but it wont last long
oh and i got in 6 flights today after work(only 93deg) the first time this season, now i can fly all i want
ITS COOLING OFF

Hey Gary.... Did you get it at hobby people?? Our club gets P.M. fuel in bulk for the
club then sell to the club 15% $14 and 20% $17.... The club makes alittle over
$2.... We also get up to 30% off on anything in the store... It's not a bad deal..
I love when the H.S. has their sale... Which is a few times a year... Once they had
P.M. 20/20 which is what I use in the YS and now Saito for $10...
I'm in Vegas now, so was wondering if that fuel sale was still on....
Yea... Love the cool, it was below 70deg at the field this morning... first there and
last one to lock up at about noon... Only bad thing..... I need more fuel sales[:@]

Covering was cut with a soldering iron but the break was actually about a 1/4" out from the vertical stablizer and not right against the fuselage where the covering was removed. The wood on both sides broke relatively cleanly and the wood itself was reasonably soft. I was doing a very slow/tight loop at the time, pulled full up elevator and the right side snapped. I was about to get the plane back to reasonably level to try and land when the other side snapped off and at that point, went straight down. My son was impressed with the crash.

Sorry about your bad luck.[
] From earlier threads there did seem to be some awfully soft balsa and a fusealage pretty weak around horizontal stab. Many flyers have been reinforcing tail feathers with wires. There are also alot of people who have put UCDs through the wringer and never had a failure. (Barry C.) Was wondering if you restrained the plane tail in pit area with a ground rod. They can put an awful lot of strain on the tail. Just a thought.

Hey Ron, Here's some pictures of my OMP Katana. Now that I got the engine running good, it's a blast to fly.

From: Chester, WV,
Jerry - I have an OS 91 with a 15X4W APC. I love it !!
Some of my buddies have Saito 100's 15X4W APC too and like Barry said, thats a great option too. Either way you'll be happy.
Dougwill - I have seen the giant UCD with a Saito 220 also. I dont much care for the covering colors either. But after seeing it fly its, tempting, very tempting,,,,,, [sm=thumbup.gif]

Whoa!!!!
Finally got my first flight in tonight. It was great. You all were right. UCD 46 flies like a dream. I was scared silly. Plane took off almost hands off. No aileron trim needed, did need 10 clicks up. ailerons must not be nuetral. Had to switch to low rates to keep from sawing wood. Earned a new nick name. (tree surgeon). Going to take it real easy and just fly it around for 1/2 a dozen flights or more. Plane with Saito 80 flies pretty good. 10% Wildcat may not have enough zing when I'm read for crazy stuff though. How should plane fly inverted? Thanks to all for advice & help.

dougwill...Great job on the maiden!!! It only gets better. Well, for the most part anyway.Put a little 30% in that 80. She'll treat you right. Like I said when a guy in our club asked why I used 30% fuel. I said, "Because I can't get 40."
Thanks
Barry

alright Doug, great news as always, and Barry is right about flying upside down while inverted
does great inverted!!!!want to see some pictures of mine upside down? CEEGEE probably would[X(]
these saitos need at least 15% and the more the better, shhhh, dont tell anyone i said this but use a little castor in your fuel and also atf or airtool oil for afterrun and your bearing wont fail for a long long time.

Dougwill, Man!! I'm stoked! I'm glad you got your UCD up and flying. COOL....[8D]
I would resist the temptation to get too wild and just fly it around for a little bit and get it broke. Mine deadsticked a couple of times with the new motor and I had a couple of bang it up landings before it was reliable.
Hey Gary, How much castor do you put in. I just happen to have a whole bottle of it.

Rob Thanks for the advice. Easy does it. Great photo. Which one is you?
Barry [:'(]Your a hoot. I should not have left myself open to that one. Let me rephrase that. Should plane require a lot of down elevator for inverted flight, if not than, should I adjust airlerons to get the 10 clicks of up in elevator that were required to get level flight? 30% fuel? Is that hard on engine?
Thanks Doug[&:]
