Mac...You use the $25 discount for $149 sale and that drops it to $125. The free freight is if you have a membership to their super saver club. They offer this sale every January. That's about as cheap as they get. I've bought 2 at this price. I think some others have got them down to $120 somehow but I've never done that good.
gjeffers...
That's a DA50R under there. I get 23.5lbs thrurst with a 22x8 prop. the plane weighs 14lbs 14ozs. It has an excellent power to weight ratio. It's a wonderful flying plane. I've got 20 or so flights on it. I love the plane. But it won't waterfall like a UCD.
Thanks
Barry

You know Barry, after all the advertizing we've done for the U Can Do's they probably owe us a spare one by now. I mean think of all the guys out there that probably decided to get one after reading this thread. [X(]

What are you guys using for a tank in the 46 with a Saito 100. If you are using the stock one how much run time are you getting. 270 cc against 470cc. Seems like 5 minutes or so.
I am considering putting the larger tank under a painted canopy and using a Cline regulator. Before I do anything I would like to know how others are handling the tank size thing
thx

hey skip, im using the stock tank and fly 9-10 min no problem with about 1/4 tank left, but you have to have your saito leaned down on low end and HS. remember you will not be flying at full out but instead you will be flying at 1/4-1/2 throttle most of the time, you dont need a big tank

G,
How did you get that stuffed in there? any pics, I'm sure you had to do something to the mount? how about the spinner to cowl fit?

Mac, it fit on the stock mount, mount flanges have to go right to the end of the rails, cut a little on the bottom of the cowl for the rocker covers to fit through and its just fine

Mac, see the third pic? well you will have to sand(or file) a little on the screw hole so the carb mount screw will fit, other than that no more mods, i have over a 100 flights on this and the mount will handle the 100[8D]

OPPSSS, i did have that in it while i changed bearings in the 100, i couldnt see that in the small frame, but it did have unlimited vertical
.....(the 125 does have the same mounting dimensions as the 100), all i had to do was adjust the idle a little
forget you saw that[X(]

acctually not a bad engine for the ucd, weight balances good, and since i use 60 size LG it had plenty of clearance for the 16.5x5 apc, it is a engine you really dont need on the ucd46 but it will work well......remindes me of Quigley when he said "i said i had no use for them....didnt say i couldnt use them"

Hey Guy's... Well I finally got to removing the 82 from the "Do" No real obvious path for
all that mess, crank cover and engine looks to be in great shape, exhaust, heads, valve
covers and timing area shows no real signs that the leak is coming from there and the
crank, bearing inside is as clean as being new, no rust or excessive play and the intake
was tight and o-rings look great as with all screws/bolts.... It did look like some leakage
from the prop cone?? Looked at Horizon for a gasket for the crank cover but none is
used for the 82/72. I'm wondering if the 65/91 would fit?? Most likely not... I may just cut
one, or use gasket sealant when I reinstall.... But then again maybe not......
The YS 63 will not quite fit in the exsisting mounting holes, same with the hyde mount
and I'll have to move the throttle cable for the YS... So that looks to be out of the
picture for now..... I have a lot of rags though.......
Still a slight bit under the weather, can't quite kick it completely, so I have not been
flying and it was the first time in the garage to work on the "Do"... Yesterday and today
was a no wind day since X-mas... It made it hard to not go to the field this morning......

Finally got the Do out of the garage in I don't know how long. I got 3 flights on it today. It was a bit windy but she didn't mind. I had the plane for months and the motor isn't even broken in yet. I will take it out again tomorrow and Saturday for sure. That is a fun plane to fly wind or no wind. I'm gonna see if I can get 2+ gallons though her. I should be able to do that in one day

Hey Mac,.... Maybe.. but........, I have the tubing a bit long... it runs out to about midway
down the L.G. and from the looks of the mess it leaves, it say's its not plugged.. I removed
the nipple to check & seal and all was clear and free. Maybe the 82 needs a shorter run of
tubing??? but it's a bit shorter than the one I had on "Do" #1 with the S-100 which went all
the way down to the wheel with no problems... But after I reinstall the engine and test, and
if I get the same results I'll try a shorter piece of tubing..
This engine, beside me thinking that it shook more than my others from my first flt., has ran
flawlessly, and as long as I kept fuel in the tank no dead sticks, but even from the start it
was a bit messy, reason for me ordering the stack, which unfortunately for me has actually
made the mess worse??..... I have not checked the stack o-ring yet when I removed the intake
and carb. but it looked like it was there and seated well.... The quest goes on....
Man... "Do" #2 is making me work a bit, first the long wait for my replacement wing, then
glitches, and it being extra loud and messy...... But she's all "Do" like in flying..... [8D]
dr_d_2k..... Glad you had a Great Day!!

Mac... I had the box out ready to pack and send it in for a check up, but after looking at
it I'm going to do what I said above and give it another try.. As I said the engine runs
great, sometimes they run a bit different after getting back home from the shop.... And
more so now that the YS/hyde needs redrilling and throttle movement to get it to fit...
and that's not going to happen on this "Do" unless it has too....
Hey Rob..... I stated to email Will as he sent me a ton of info when I worked on the 100
but I have not yet.... Kinda feel like it may be somethnig like the glitch I was having on
the S.T.
...... so would like to keep as low a profile as possible

Got to the field today a little late (10:30 am) and nobody was there! I flew a gallon of gas. Without any interruptions. It was a bit windy but it was a load of fun. Had a few scary moments getting puffed around doing slow and low inverted passes. I still can't get the spins flattened out consistently. I should probably move my CG back a bit. I still have it forward until I get used to it. I guess I'm used to the Do.
The wind died as I cleaning up. It was kind of cool hovering and watching the Do drift away at 15 mph though. I had 2 landings with no forward movement it just settled down. I love that! I got carried away on 2 flights and ran out of fuel taxiing back to the pits. It's just hard to stop when your having fun.
