Yes, that is an excellent muffler, I have it on my FPE 40 cc on the Waco by Kangke, and I am sure it will work on the Stearman, but with some mods. The pipe at the back will hit the firewall, you are going to have to figure out what to do there. That is why I did not do it on the Stearman, but on the Waco, it was no problme. So maybe with the G26 you might not have a problem, but make sure you do the measuring first.

Well the rebuild on the Stearman is nearly done and the plane looks great!!! Should be up and flying in a week or two as soon as the new Xoar prop gets here.

I have not started my Stearman yet. Still in the box looking at me. Im building a Sig Kiwi from a kit I found here on RCU. The Kiwi
is the second plane I ever owned way back when and when I saw it for sale I had to have the plane again. I remember it flew very well. I have a OS32 with a tuned pipe to put on her hope it is a good combo

She looks Great!
Mainly responding because I just noticed your change to the by line "take offs are optional......." ain't it the truth. I'm still working on my SS, and after watching your video, I'm sure I'll be coming in at warp 9 on my first approach! What a hobby!
Good luck and keep those camera's rollin

Looks Great! Well I will be building my Stearman after all, since I bought a Brisson 2.4 to put on her nose. I think it will be a good match for the plane plenty of power if i need it

Hey guys let me ask you a question I put out on the gas engine forum. I've been debating between a 26 size gas engine and for awhile was tempted to go to one of the light weight 40 size gas(brillelle, bcma, copperhead etc.). Consensus over there was that the 40 would just be too much, but I noticed today that someone who has a 26 said that it flew the SS fine, but was a little short on power. I'm not into being way overpowered, but also don't want to make the mistake of going too small either. I've got a Saito 120 I could put on it, but I'm really itching to try out a gas engine for a change. Any thoughts?

Thank you!!! The fuse wasn't damaged at all. Just a couple of wings, a cowl, a landing gear, and a few other parts and she's as good as new!!! Hope everyone that saw the video doesn't respond, I had nearly 4000 hits on that one!!!

Go with the BCMA 26cc. My son has this engine and it's great!! It's lighter then the Zenoah 20cc and puts out great power. Adam will give you great support and the plane should fly beautifully with it on an 18X6. If necessary you can put your EI battery in the weight box so everything is away from teh receiver.

Well No one saw my post I guess. I went with more power sure the 26CC will fly it but if you need more power it is always nice to have it!! You may even beable to recover from a TIP STALL Sorry Lou

I think the Brisson will be great in this plane but the BCMA 26 will fly it fine for a lot less cost. I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. I just wanted mine to fly scale and it does. Mind you, a little extra power is always a good thing. As for the tip stall, that was my fault. Just didn't have enough foot in it when it counted. Tried to bring it in slow and graceful and ended up with an expensive mess. The power was there but I didn't use it.[&o][&o][&o][&o]

Aren't they almost the same engine(SPE)? I took my Brillelli out of a Hanger 9 Extra 260. I also have the GP PT-17 and I have a Brillelli GT25(Magneto). Plane balanced perfectly. The 40cc EI weighs 3 oz. lighter than the 25GT(magneto)so it should balance just right.

They are nearly exactly the same engine. Mike Brill and Scott Ellingston put out the Brillelli and Adam Vorhees sells the BCMA. The stock SPEs aren't as reliable or as good IMO but your Brillelli will be just fine. Should be able to produce some very admirable maneuvers!!!

I have a FPE 40cc in my SS and it has over a thousand flights. I highly recommend it, reverse the muffler as if you fly in the winter on ice the pipes will hit the ice chunchs and bend or break them. The plane is fantastic. with the 40. I really believe that with a 26 it will work, but not like a 40.

Put on your skis, you have no idea what you are missing. The rooster tail of powdered snow on take off and on Landings. The nice soft landings that snow gives you. The increase lift you get from the cold air. Once you start flying off snow, you don't want summer to arrive. look at the pics, the wide open area of a lake, who cares which way the wind is going. You can even fly when it is snowing, look closely at the pilot with snow on his hair. And when the snow starts to melt, nothing like a take off with the skis an inch under water and watch the lift off. Plus the blue, blue sky, you can see your plane for miles.
