My tthoughts on this plane. I enclosed the inside of the fuse, added a floor with light ply and painted it black. Also painted the sides black too. I added a full body pilot from HP Pilots and used DP's intrument panel. All the ply screws hold in in place and fits like a puzzle just in case I need to get to the plumbing. Came out beuitiful. I also mounted the switch insde the fuse with a wire coming through the stipe which is also painted black so you can't see it. Also used a a sullivan filler which is mounted between the cowl and the fuse. This way you can't see the filler and you fill it using the included probe. So now there are no mountings of any kind outside the plane. What a clean look. The OS twin 160 is incredible too. The plane fly's incredible and from the looks of it, Saturday looks like a good cub day. I will take pic's this weekend if anyone would like to see them. Thx!

Sounds great John, heck yeah on the pic's!!!! Especially of the interior. What size tank are you using for the 160? I have a 16 oz flat tank that will fit under the floor where the tank is called for since I have to get it lower due to the 160's carb location but not sure of the run time with that engine.

BUD IAM USING A DUBRO 24 OZ TANK IN MINE AND GET A VERY CONSERVITIVE 17 MINS WITH 1/4 TANK AFTER FLIGHTS THAT AT TIMES FULL THROTTLE. THOUGHT I NEEDED A FUEL REG BUT LATER FOUND THAT ITS NOT NECESSARY WITH THE TANKS NOSE PLANTED ON THE BOTTOM ON THE SLOPE OF THE FUZE AND THE TAIL END UP TO LEVEL THE TANK OF COURSE USING THE SUPPLIED TANK MOUNT. Hill202, you gotta get one of these!
builder jim, thanks. I noticed in one of the picture's jon posted on page 7 (looking down into the fuse) there's something bolted around the t-nuts for the landing gear on both sides, what are they?
Whoops....never mind, wing strut support. Guess you can tell i've gotten no further than the engine mounting.

Allright gentleman. Like my father was saying the plane has very sluggish ail at slow flight. Personally wasn't use to this so it took me a few to adjust. Plane took off very real like and was a pleasure to fly. Ohh's and ahh's at the show everyone looked like homer simpson looking at it. HEHE . The 160 twin by OS is a very reliable and sound engine for this plane. Has plenty of power and makes for a good sound in the air. The functionong landing gear does do it's job. Had a real good crooswind and somewhat of a hard landing. All was well and the landing gear took all the shock well. Overall I give this plane a 10 for constuction and a 8 for flying. The wing struts which are functional are a bit of a bear since they do cause erratic flight if not properly installed our are a hair out. This we will test for further info. Trimming the airplane was a brezze took 4 clicks of right ail and 3 clicks of up elevator and 2 of rudder for straight flight. Overall fun to fly. This is my dad's kinda airplane SLOW lol!!!!
Here's the pics of the cub and the one I lost this weekend (SAD)

No pic's of interior but will say that it has black for the sides and roof and the interior floor is a gray textured color along with the seats. Has a black dash cover with a cherry or mahogany wood dash. All guages are installed and look very well. cross members are in stalled in the access roof panel and gives it a nice touch! For the final touches there are scale magazines sitting on the front and rear seats. And a barbie!

Guess i'll have to break out my roll of styrene and dig up some picture's of the real one....dang, now I gotta buy an instrument panel. I can do this, I can do this, it only took me 6 months to do it with my jet ranger heli so I guess I can do it with a cub.

Way to go orvel!! Thanks for the pic's. I'm saving all pic's posted to a special folder. I'm a little slow on getting mine together due to other pressing matters here but will post pic's as soon as i can get farther along. Anyone have a picture of DPM's instrument panel?

Bud, you can see a little of the instrument panel on the third picture I posted but if you go to the DPM website under "Accessories" there's a picture of it there!

Here's a couple of shots of my new paint job, now I just have to get busy with the graphics and on to the interior. Lots to do yet but this is a great ARF.
