Hi Daniel,
I had planned on inverting the canoe for flight but had to ditch the idea because my float cradle interferes with the canoe. I posted pictures of it in the seaplane forum. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3391619/tm.htm

I went through this thread looking for ideas on where to locate the throttle servo for the OS 160 FT. I didn't see anything in the photos. Looks like a tight fit since the link wire must be run low under the tank tray, and I'm not sure where to put the servo. Any suggestions?

Daniel,
Sending a picture of my servo installation. I moved the tray back some in order to get the rear seat positioned in a more scale like fashion. The throttle servo is the one without the arm. I bought a package of HD arms from the hobby shop which had a longer arm in order to reach the cable which is on the right side of the plane and behind the panel I built from balsa. I drilled holes in the existing framework and ran the cable through them to the 160. Not hard to do at all. Look close and you can see the black cable sleeve on the right side.

Daniel, I was just thinking, how about using a sub micro servo for throttle? You could mount it just about anywhere up front and even on the engine box. This might not work out since I haven't researched it for mine yet, but was thinking when you use small stuff it makes location easier.

PS- Lets get this thread going again, as I'm hungering for more info and tips.

Good thought, 3-2's. I would use a micro except I have none and I need a trip back home to the world get one. I have dozens of standard sized servos, though, so I'm stuck with that for now. I mounted my servo almost on the floor behind the third bulkhead from the firewall. this gives me a straight shot to the throttle arm with the supplied wire. Looks like I will have plenty of room for the other goodies to fit.

Thanks, frank99, - the tubes on the side - one is vent and the other a fill line. They're on the side and fit under the cowl out of sight, but are easily accessible with the cowl installed.

Has anyone installed a saito 182 in a Hangar 9 Super Cub? I am having problems with the carb block interfearing with the cowl. I may move the center of thrust down 1 inch. If anyone has installed this engine oin this plane, I am open for suggestions

Even with all those things not currently being an issue, and placing my order through the local hobby shop last MARCH, and I still don't have mine. The time it is taking DPM to get these things built and shipped, frustrating as it is, I sure hope it is worth this long wait. I've got the OS FT160, the twin glow driver, the servos/radio, wheels, and a lot of other stuff, but not the airplane. You all have my envious compliments on how nice your models look. Some day, hoperfully in my own lifetime...

Frank,
I got the Maxx Products Twin Glow Driver for it. If you are looking for a FT160, use the wish list feature in RCU. Since I bought this one I have seen 4 or 5 of them available from $350 to $550, (they are ~$675 new). After I decided on the Supercub, I put in a wish list for the OS FT 160 and in a couple of days one showed up NIB. A quick offer, trip to get a money order, and in a few days I had one and it does indeed look like it has never seen fuel. Like the airplane, I can't wait to hear it.

Has anyone out there jumped off the deep end and used a, (dare I say it), Zenoah G-26 on their DP Super Cub?
Yes, I know, they're heavy, they're lower powered, they're heavy, the cylinder will stick out of the bottom of the cowl, they run on gasoline and they're heavy.
But I have one on the shelf.

Dick,
I sure thought about putting a gasser in it, but after reading your review, and wishing to keep it looking like a scale Supercub, I tabled that idea and bought the twin. (I very briefly thought about using a US41 that is sitting around, but didn't think long). I used to fly a Supercub (my icon) to tow gliders and banners back in the late '60's and into the early '70's, and really like the airplane.
DPM... I just need my kit, in white!
Regards,
Ray

Ray, have you phoned DP Models to see if they do in fact have a backorder for your hobby shop. Mine was ordered back in March and I got one on the last shippment in August. Howeve, I had to take a yellow one as they never got the ARC version I had ordered.
Check with them.
Check with them.

Mark,
I know it has been confirmed several times as I work there in the shop from time to time, but I may call and check anyway. The last e-mail from DPM indicated if not in November, then maybe in December. I was warned it may take a while to get.
I would rather wait to get it in white versus take one in yellow. I flew a white with red trim PA18, and in my personal, twisted mind, "J-3 Cubs" are yellow, "PA-18 Supercubs" are white.

Ray, I think the same as you do on the colors as associated to the plane. If you can stand the wait, a white one would be better. I took the yellow one thinking that I would strip it down and do a silk and dope finish. Only thing is, the yellow finish is so nice and covered decently that I will put up with it.

Man, I have been thinking about that airplane too. Looks sweet! I used to love my Goldberg Cub on floats. Who's floats did you go with? The scale rigging looks awesome. How much$? Thanks.
