Hmmm, no reply from GSP today! Why does this not surprise me?! I will be gathering letters from fellow modelers who wish to join me in this complaint. I feel sad that it has come to this but maybe it will be in the best interest of R/Cer's everywhere. I feel at a loss that over the years, all the companies I've dealt with, all the modelers I've met both on line and at shows have taken this hobby and looked at it like a huge family. Each helping and benefiting the next. I especially appreciate forums such as RCU and RCO for allowing us to broaden our knowledge and share our moments, in a family environment. I've bought and sold here, on RCO and on E-Bay and not once have I been dealt with in a rude, uncaring manner. It just isn't the nature of us to do such things to one another. I applaud companies such as Horizon, Hobbico, Great Planes, Ace, Northwest Hobby Technologies, etc. for above and beyond customer service. I wish everyone who has allowed me to voice my concerns and those who are willing to take up the cause with me continued success and happiness. Even if you don't participate in this action I hope you'll gleen some good from these posts that will help you in buying decisions in the future.

I received a letter from the Eastern Pennsylvania BBB concerning my problem with GSP. I am not surprised at GSP's comments in response to this complaint.
a. GSP stated that they have never been rude to any customer.
b. GSP stated that over 1500 of these kits have been sold
worldwide with no complaints such as mine.
c. GSP stated that the RCU review found no problems with the
wing in the sun.
d. GSP stated that I had slandered them and cost them business.
e. GSP stated that I should not have left my plane in 100 degree
temps in South Carolina. ( I don't live in South Carolina ) and
that on the day I was referring to it was in fact 100 degrees.
f. GSP stated that I needed to do a public retraction on
this forum before they would talk to me again about my
problem.
Sorry, I will not retract the truth! I leave retractions for comments
that are misleading and untrue.
Additionally, I did take a heat gun and smooth out the the wrinkles. It appeared to work so I took the plane out to the field last Sunday. I kept it in the shade until I decided to fly and by the time I had pulled the plane to the pits, fueled up and started the engine the wrinkles and warping were back!
I flew anyway and almost lost the plane. Evidently the softening of the fibreglass material allowed the wing to flex at the point where the material softened. I managed to get the plane back on the ground safely thanks to immediately throttling back and deploying the flaps. Upon inspection I found the fibreglass structurally cracked exactly where the warping and softening was located. I will not attempt to fly this plane again and have consequently put it up for sale with the rest of my "glow" fleet as I am going to gas.
Happy Flying!

If that's not a hostile comment, I don't know what is!

Snake,
Let me say that the kit I received was a newer run as the originals had the bright blue finish. The kit out of the box to be quite honest is very impressive. It builds easily and the parts fit together without very much adjustment. I hope they get the fibreglass thing ironed out for those who are still considering buying this plane. The only mod I really made was in using individual servos for the flaps as the cable actuation left a little to be desired and I had to build up the retract area to accept the Robart 615's. Sitting on the wheels this is (was) a very impressive plane.

I think it's interesting that GSP hasn't responded to any of this here on RCU.
Is it me, or I'm I od? All the crap that been said about them and they haven't said a word. Hmmmmmmmmmmm????????
I'm glad I saw this thread before I bought one. My next plane was their 120 size Corsair.

MOTOADVE,
I suggest that you go to the Better Business Bureau website and fill out a complaint. I did this and even though I am in the process of following up on my first complaint, they initially answered me in just a few days. Even though you are outside of the continental U.S., you are a consumer and have rights too.

Just when you thought this thread had died! Lazarus come forth! Wayne did a little exploratory surgery on my GSP Corsair wing to see if he could fix the cracked bracing under the FRP skin. Guess what!? There is no real bracing in there. The wood consisted of very thin, about 1/8th inch at best, malaysian plywood. Even without the help of old man sun this wing was bound to fail! There is no wood in the leading edge area either, just FRP!
Wayne managed to get some new ply bracing in the wing and says he thinks it will hold up now! If any of you want to see this plane it will be for sale at the next Perry, Georgia swap meet this coming March. Till next time!

Yes they try to fool you with some wood out where the landing gear is but inboard of that it is one thin piece of wood that probably wouldnt even be enough for a spar in a PAPER AIRPLANE! Mine broke on a good landing, we heard a "pop" and opon inspection found the center "spar" for lack of a better word, CRACKED! The only way to fix this plane, if I bother, will be to cut out fiberglass and lay a real spar in the wing and make sure it gets goined to where the landing gear beams are. I think I will strip it and take to some swaps but I doubt I could give it away, lol. Safety issues come up from time to time and this plane is a real danger to anyone around while it is in the air. Wing failures are a matter of time no matter how good you think you are at piloting. The sad part is that they could have put a real piece of wood in there and had a structuraly sound plane without any cost increase. The warping stinks but would be "barely" acceptable. I just finally got my engine tuned just right and she was flying great when this happened so I only got two flights on her that were enjoyable.
