As a man I agree with your opinon on the short hair look. I perfer my woman with long hair.
Photos of Patty with long, puffy hair, are not the most recent.

I have been with this thread from the start and don't recall anyone but Deadsticker using a carbon fiber main landing gear and you know what happened with that. Sorry I can't help you.
What's wrong with the gear supplied? Are you looking for more strenght and less weight?

I've followed this thread from the begining too, and with great pleasure. I,ve got about 30 or so flights on my patty and must say (It's awesome), but after a couple of deadsticks (landings that is), The supplied gear is spreading some and I'd just like to find a gear that holds it's shape a little better.
If anyone knows of one please let me know.
Thanks and happy flying.

LeeB, I hear you. After 63 flights on my Patty, I had to remove the landing gear and straighten in a vise at least 10 times. It's just not quite strong enough and spreads out slightly after each and every landing. Not to mention the bouncing. I now leave off the landing gear cover for that reason. But I'm not that good of a pilot that every landing is perfect.
Let me know if you find a good replacement.

RCGUY - After 167 flights as of Friday, I've had to take mine off twice and straighten it. Seems once you've bent them and did any straightening, they become more and more flexible where the bending becomes really easy. Has anyone seen the gear on the World Models Wagstaff? The "boot" covers look pretty cool but I wonder if they have a better set up?

Here is who makes the composite landing gear. I've already sent them an e-mail expressing interest in landing gear for the Patty. Perhaps if we all did likewise...........http://www.graphtechrc.com

Fancman, I did e-mail them too. Maybe if enough of us do contact them, they will make something up.. I think if not, they will make whatever you want, but boy it's got to be expensive just making a couple. So guys, e-mail away and let's see if we can get a mold made and cheaper gear if they make it in bulk.

Well 232 Captain its seems your a better pilot than I. I also broke about nine props but I fly off of asphalt and real easy to break props.
I just e-mailed Graphtech.com and asked them about a landing gear for my Patty. So lets see what happens.

I posted a few threads back that you can get carbon fiber gear for this plane from Desert Aircraft. I guess some people read all the threads and some say they read all the threads.

I've read all 31++ posts and haven't read one that says I bought this gear from this company and it fits perfect. There are a lot of companys that make CF main gears but have you used the DA gear and does it fit? If so which one did you order?

Check page 147. This was my original post on where to buy what to use to make the plane lighter. Yes I use the gear. It is made by Bolly and sold by DA. Yes it does fit well. Call Dave and ask him about it. I got mine from him.

Awat, your right, post #2938/ page #147, CF gear from DA $43.00. Man, I've been with this thread from the beginning but don't remember reading that post, then again I don't remember what I had for dinner Saturday night.
Could you possibly post a picture of the gear installed on your Patty and what is Bolly's part number or catalog number? To make it easier for you and the rest of guys, here is a direct link to Bolly's CF landing gears but still need part number. It seems you may order directly from Bolly. They are a Canadian company, located in BC.

Thanking you in advance.

Well guys I've had a brand new 3w50i sitting here for quite a while now but still dont know if i should put it on my patty.
The engine weighs in at 4.3 lbs. without my bolly 24x8 on it which is quite a heavy prop. Also I've got a TME smoke system to put in her. Soooo, I,m afraid shes going to finish out in the eighteen pound range (yes thats 18 pounds!!).
Is this too heavy or should I get the DA??
Suppose I should get going on putting this thing together!!!!
Hey Bdxhad- you put a 3w50i on yours, so whats your final weight?? and did you put in smoke??

300Sjack, the instruction manual for the Patty says finished weight to be 14.25 - 16.5lb (6500g -7500g). Eighteen (18) lb. is a little heavy with a lot more wing loading. Light planes fly better.
So the DA 50, I think, would be a better option -- especial when installing a smoke system.

We had our IMAC competition this past weekend and had a few mishaps. This Hanger 9 Sukhoi, 97in. wingspan with a DA 100, was lost during the free style Sunday afternoon. Seems the pilot was performing a inverted flat spin and got to low and didn't have enough altitude to pull out. Notice the missing head and broken piston on the DA. What a mess. Sorry about the picture, for it was taken at 2046x 1536 quality but after resizing and cropping to post it on RC Universe --- all I have left is a lousy picture.
And for those of you interested, quality pictures of the event may be seen on http://www.baycityflyers.com/ in a few days or when our busy webmaster gets around to updating our website. I'll let the interested parties know when the photos are posted.
On Saturday, a 114 in wingspan custom fiberglas and carbon fiber Extra 330 (estimated value $15,000) was lost. Reason-- unknown.

Below, a successful free style plane with smoke performing a series of waterfalls.
We had about forty five (45) pilots and surprisingly no Patty's entered. I had to bow out due to carburetor problems during Fridays practice at another field. A friend of mine lost his Air Wild, 540 Edge with a BME 44 during Fridays practice. He ordered a GP-Patty later that day and is installing the 44cc. I told him that he just was looking for a good excuse for the wife, to order the Patty.
He just looooves my Patty.
