Hey King,

just read your post and saw the pics you posted, man, i am so sorry to see that happen. I was looking forward to seeing it fly with the flaps you constructed......looked awesome!!! well it looks like it is not a total loss. I have been checking with SIG looking for spare parts: windshields, cowlings, struts, wheel pants, and wings, and they are out of alot of replacement parts. here in Bowling Green, we have been needing spare parts for some time now. I have been working on a new SKUNK WORKS RASCAL....haha and am in need of parts from SIG.
hopefully we can have a gathering of Rascals some time this year to get them all together.
and again, guys, thanks for the compliments on the video.

Eric

Thanks Zippi. It is going to cost me but it will be back in the air. My dad always told me there is a high price for stupidity. How true that is. I seem to prove it quite often. I'll give a yell when it is ready. It will be the end of the month before the SIG supplied parts arrive..... so they say.

Question for anyone using an OS Gemini twin 160 on their Rascal 110? Did you lower the fuel tank to more closely get the carb and center of the tank at the same level? If not have you had any bad experiences (engine going lean) during manuevers or while inverted? I have the engine mount ,throtle cable, etc installed and wanted to double check before installing the fuel tank in the standard location. Thanks

Howard

***Rascal 110 Fly-in***
[/size]

A friend of mine that went to the Toledo show was talking to the people at the Sig both about their new up and coming planes and mentioned that there was talk about having a "Rascal 110" fly-in this summer. The guys from Sig said to let them know when and where and they would come down. Looks like we should try and put this together guys[sm=thumbs_up.gif]. We just need to know when and where this will take place and about how many would show up. Lets ask around and see how many guys will be willing to come. Maybe a "Rascal" fly-in and not limit it to just the 110. Maybe any Sig plane, what do you guys think ??? I volunteer the Evansville site as it seems to be centrally located.

I would love too. As long as it's within 6 or 8 hours drive. I am using all my vacation to go to Cali this summer so I have to be back to work on Monday morning. There is a group in Colorado that uses the Rascal 110 for platforms for surveillance and muliple launch platforms. here is a [link=http://recuv.colorado.edu/~frew/selfnav.html]link[/link] It would be cool to have them attend to show how big the envelope is for the Rascal. SIG has quite a bird.

Hummmmm Any feedback on the Rascal Fun Fly? I stopped by the LHS today and my Rascal ia 100% repaired. I dropped off the covering, transmitter and landing gear for the finishing. It looks as good as new.

Ron,

Not much action at all on the "Rascal 110 fly-in". Oh well, it sounded like fun.

Zippi,

hey, i think it is a great idea! i know the guys here in Bowling Green, KY would be glad to get involved and have a RASCAL FLY-IN. maybe one of us should start a new thread on this subject under the events page and on the ARF section. to my knowledge, we have at least 10 RASCAL 110'S just here in BG. let me know what you think..........I AM ALL GEARED UP NOW WITH THE NEW 2.4 FUTABA SYSTEM and ready to do some flying. gonna try to get out this saturday and tweak the the radio a little more for my flying style.

as far as the Rascal fly-in, we need to get some feedback on how many would be willing to make it and set a date. i dont have much as far as events in the month of June(last 3 weekends are open for me). i am sure the folks at Henderson, Ky would also be interested to join us.

whatever we need to do to get this thing rolling, just let me know.

Thanks
Eric

Eric,

Nice to hear from you dude. We are having our annual picnic this Saturday (4/18/09) so I'll get with our club president and propos this idea to him and see if I can come up with a date in late June before I post the *Rascal Fly-in* in any other forums.

Ron,

Is there anyway you could get the word out to that group in Colorado about our *Rascal Fly-in* once I get a date setup???

Ok guys & gals,

Here is what I have found out about the *Rascal 110 Fly-in*. This will be a one day event held at the Evansville RC club on a Saturday and it can be the third or the forth week in June. The third week in June is the Browns IL Fly In on the 19-21, the forth week of June is the Henderson KY Electric Fly In on the 27-28. Seems like there is something going on somewhere every weekend. This fly-in will be targeted for the Rascal 110's but the fly-in will be open to whatever anyone wants to bring and fly. This is all just to have a fun day of flying but we would really like to have a lot of Rascal 110's present because we may have some reps from Sig Manufacturing coming to the Fly-in. This is all still in the making and we are still checking into food, raffle tickets, etc. Once everthing is set I will post the *Rascal 110 Fly-in* in the "Event Forum". If anyone has any questions or comments just shoot me an email.

Eric,

Which week would work out best for you guys since most of the Rascal 110's will probably be coming from Bowling Green?

Zippi I will be in California from the 5th until the 19th of June. Even the last week will be difficult for me. I will try my best. My son Michael will be here and I know he would love it. I will let you know.

Geez, I wanna go too. Hey, it might be a good idea to hold Rascal 110 fly-ins in all four corners of the USA. I have the site for the Northwest fly-in and a good group to start off with.

Hey guys,

Take a look at this Rascal 110 by Bob Marchi out of Kirkland WA. Very nice makeover. The paint job was done by Bob, graphics by Steve Dentz and it has a G26 on the business end. Check out this guys website.

Well guys I have bad news. I just got off the phone with SIG and the LHS owner. The struts and cowl were promised to be shipped the end of April. That is now so we called. Now SIG is telling us it will be several more months. At soonest the end of the summer. Now I know it is not SIG's fault I crashed my plane but how about a little support here. So I have a wonderful and very expensive trophy made by SIG. Until I get struts I am grounded. I have a novel idea for SIG. With our ever increasing unemployment in the USA, especially manafacturing, how about looking for a US vender that needs to buy milk for the kids? This country is full of talented people with machine shop equipment in the back yard shops.

This might explain the situation if its true.

This past weekend, I was told that Sig is owned by a group of lawyers and they give the company X amount of operating capital to work on. To me, this is a ticket out the back door.

I really hope its not true.

Ron,

As handy as you are, is there any chance you could fabricate a set of struts out of wood with metal ends to fit to the fuse and wing??? Paint it all white and I think it would look pretty good.

We are making struts zippi. I am not going to sit and look at my Rascal all summer. That may be acceptable to SIG but it is not to me.
