Sounds like you may have a bad y connector just to verify take a known good extension an plug it into the rx an then try 1 servo at a time, if neither servo works try a diff channel like the rudder channel also check an make sure when using the y that the neg on the servo matches the neg on y otherwise it will give you the problem you have

ya, try each servo to make sure its not a problem with the servo, if all your servos work, then its either a problem with the reciever, or a problem with the mixing on your radio. I know you are using a y-harness but, Is your radio digital, or do you have to work dual servos with a y-harness?

I found something today that might peak the interest of a few "twisters". Might this be Hangar 9's "Twist 2"??? Looks like the same wing as the .60 size but a new fuse.

I flew my 40-size Twist again today. The engine is a Saito .82 and I originally had a 13x4W prop fitted. But today I tried a 14x4W - and it's just perfect! Vertical is truly unlimited, and it all sounds so effortless too!
In accordance with earlier advice from this thread I set the balance point at 5-inches. This produced great take-off and landings and a nice balanced feel during flight. Walls, knife-edge, spins, etc are all good, and the blender is really awesome. It also does a neat inverted flat spin too, but it won't flat spin right side up at all. I know that moving the balance back a little will probably fix the flat-spin problem, but can anyone tell me why it will flat spin inverted but refuses to do so right side up?

Archer...I just now noticed a few pages ago you asked me what prop I use on my .61FX...I'll check it when I get home bud....sorry about the late response...(I am indeed blonde and have blue eyes, so bare with me..

Ok my dear T _ _ _ T friends, I can use some opinions/advice here...
I am considering adding the 60-size T _ _ _ T to my hanger...NOOOO....not to breed my .46 with this .60 one, but I love the size of the .60. (hhhmm....nice young T _ _ _ T's...wonder what color the would be if I try to breed them..
..)
First of all..how weird it may sound..does it fly as great as the .46 size???I would assume it does..but I just want that confirmation..
I have a Saito 90-size brand new, just broken in..would it be a good match for the .60 size you think??
Any other differences besides the size, between both of those beauties??
Looking forward to hear from you guys....

Lawdawg, the defective servos are a definite possibility, but it's better to check the simple things first.
1st, are all the other servos working correctly?
2nd - are all the connections tight?
3rd - I'd recommend that you take the Y-harness out of the circuit and test each servo by plugging it directly into the rx and trying it that way first.
Keep us in the loop,
Bob

Dutch,
I have the .60 and have never flown the .40 size but there is about a half dozen of them (the .40) at our field. I love the .60, and the guys who have flown it that own the .40 like it as well. Apparently it handles a bit differently, but I have still have mine set up to be slightly more docile right now. They do however say that with the right setting up, it would be great. I have the Saito 100 on mine and it flies awesome. Vertical is straight up, non stop with a 14x6 prop. I'd offer to send you some video, but my camcorder happens to be on vacation with friends for the next week or so. Rumor has it that someone at our club bought the twist 150... can't wait to see that thing in the air. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

Dutch, if I was considering a .55, I think I would wait a bit and see what the new O.S. .75 is like. I'm guessing it will be a lot like my Jett .76. $195.

Thanks so much!!...yeah...saw the .75 engine....lots of power huh??..
Thought the .55 would be a lil' less weight and still enough horses..
..but the .75 should sure do the trick nicely...
I kinda wanna watch my $$$ a lil' bit...I saw the new Futaba 2.4 GHz 12 channel....looks nummy.....
Blinked my eyes really pretty at my sweetie..so I'm hoping the price is right, cause if so..it just might be my next radio...

Dutchalltheway,
I have no experience with the .55AX but my brother has one and it is typical OS - a real screamer - he has it on a .40 Twist and unlimited vertical.

My Feedback: (2)
Hello Dutchalltheway,
I've put my OS 55ABL on my LT-40, just to break it in. So far, it's worked fairly well, I've been having problems with deadsticks.
I believe that the problem is on my end, and that I just need to lean out the LS needle very little (it's still at the factory settings). From what I have observed so far, it starts easy, has nice power, and will most likely be a very sweet engine once I dial it in.
Once it's broken in (a few more flights) I'm putting it into my Cermark Javelin II pattern plane.
Does anyone else have any comments on the 55? I'd be interested too, as long as they're in keeping with this thread.

Dutch,
Might also want to check into the new Spektrum modules if you currently have a higher end Futaba. I've been doing some research and they sound pretty cool. I have a Futaba 9C and am planning on giving these a try to keep from having to buy a new radio. The 2.4 Ghz module and 9 ch. reciever are supposed to be about $300, beats the hell out of $600+ for a new radio. I guess they are not quite as fast/responsive as the radios with it built in, but are much faster that PPM/PCM radios. Just something to think about.
BTW- the flightline was packed for most of the day today until the wind picked up out of nowhere, we had a few gusts that blew over toolboxes! I can't say I'm willing to put my planes in the air when toolboxes are blowing over! I've never seen anything like it. Oh well, better luck next week.

Congrats Lawdawg,
Yes it is hard to pass up a good price tag on something you know will work for you,
I never have seen a .60 fly yet, I haven't seen the .55ax but I have heard great things about it, So I've been here reading but really have no advice on these products so I've just held my Tongue,,,,, and My friend has a .46ax and that thing screams. compared to the .46fx I like the ax engines for sure.
Well we were kind of weathered out here this weekend, Its been raing since Saturday and still going strong right now if not stronger, water levels are getting pretty high around these parts, good thing our runway sits on top of a hill, we have plans of flying for this Saturday. Can't wait..

Waldo,
The .60 flies much like the .40. It is a little touchier CG wise. It has a small window where it really handles well. The roll rate is slower, due to the bigger wings I think. Other than that it flies very much the same. It is a fun plane.
Dutch,
I have an OS .55ax and the thing is awesome. I have it on a .40 size carl goldberg extreme. It has close to the same amount of power as the .61, but lighter.

Thanks Adam, Yeah I'm sure the bigger wing would slow down the snap roll rate for sure, Every plane is a blast to me, if it flys and one can control it,, or not,, its still fun as hell to cruise around the sky, I think I'm going to maiden my US 1000 this week, I might just run in the engine as the runway could tear apart my retracts right now,, but I will be T_ _ _ Tin all over the sky this weekend I hope.

For the second time since starting to fly my 40-size Twist I find that I need to replace the wing bolt - take a look at the attached pic and you'll see why. The thread has stripped in exactly the same way as the first bolt stripped. So far the model has only had 34 flights, and I never remove the wing between flying sessions as my models go into my car without having to do so . . . . so why are the bolts wearing-out so quickly? Maybe it's because I fly so hard? I just don't know. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm considering changing to a steel wing bolt - more especially since there was a 1/4" gap between the training edge of the wing and the fuz when I landed at the end of my last flight today

TW, is the hole through the wing in allignment with the threaded hole in the fuse? It looks like the bolt threads are burning on something. I just checked my bolt and it looks fine. Mine is 1/4", not metric. When you replaced the bolt, what size did you use?
