If I get a [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFL2250]Mini Ultra Stick[/link], then what else is required to get it into the air. I know there is a "Needed to Complete" section, but I know that leave small items out. Can someone tell me the things i need (Preferably down to the smallest details. I've never had an electric plane, so i don't know what i need as far as connectors,wires, etc.) .
This is what I have:
[link=http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=V869660&pid=U867328]charger[/link]
JR 4-channel radio (Still deciding if its worth adjusting trims back and forth, or just to buy a computer radio)
This is my list so far:
Mini Ultra Stick
[link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLM1400]PARK 450 BL OUTRUNNER MTR,890KV[/link]
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKYK5&P=ML]Hitec Micro Pack Micro 05S/3 HS-55 Servos[/link] (I have one, so only 3 needed)
[link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=PKZ4117]Brushless ESC (20A):3D[/link] (What connectors do I need to make it work with motor and battery?)
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVJ14&P=7]Master Airscrew 10x7 G/F Nylon Electric Only Propeller[/link]
Servo Extensions & Y-harness (I need something more specific. How many of each? Length of each?)
[link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLB1025]11.1V 1800mAh 3-Cell LiPo, 16GA[/link]
CA- I have medium. What others do I need?
Now, I need to know like what connector comes on that battery. From the Picture it looks like the red plug that is on my charger, but for the discharge side, what connector is needed? Do the battery and motor have connectors that will work. Is there ANYTHING that i left out?
Thanks

I Prefer Deans connectors myself

male on the ESC female on the battery.
I am not sure about your battery choice as most of my electric experience has been with helis but 8.5C discharge rate seems low. Most of the lipos I have used have been 12C to 16C. Not sure if you will get good preformance from your motor.
It says you need CA but doesn't specify. If it is for the hinges you will need Thin CA.
You will get some better answers in the electric forums.

Does anyone know anything wrong with what comes in the PNP version? http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=EFL2350
It seems if I went that direction, it would be alot cheaper. But, Im not sure about the quality of what it comes with. But with the extra money, I could get a better battery, or even two.

One other thing.
That charger doesn't look like it balances.
Lipo batteries should be balanced, preferably while charging.
The Astro Blinky lipo balancer is $25 at most hobby shops it is used along with a separate charger.
E-Flite makes a 3S balance charger that comes with the blade CP Pro helicopter. It can be puchased seperately for around $29. It charges through the balance connector but has a set rate of, I think, 800ma, so it would take sevaral hours to balance charge the recommended 2100mah battery.

I think you only need Y-connector for the aileron servos. I forgot exactly how long it was. I ended up using a APC 9X6 electric prop. This prop pretty much maxed out the amp rating of the motor so I didn't go any bigger. You really need an amp meter if you are going to fly electric.
The 450 outrunner gives the plane pretty spirited performance similar to most glow planes. If you are looking for insane vertical, you will want the 480 outrunner.

The MUS is a great plane. You will enjoy it. You really will be better off to get the 480 E-Flite. You will wish you did if you don't. The 450 will fly it fine but the 480 for about $10 more makes it a rocket! You can allways fly at less throttle. You need a better battery. You will pull right about 20+ amps with either motor and a 9x6 prop. The 10x7 is going to be to much for the 450. I would go up to a 25/30 amp ESC also. I would say a 3S 2100 LiPo at 15/20C is about right for the battery. You only need a 6" Y for the ailerons. You will need 3.5 bullet connectors for the ESC and motor hook up. As you see you need to go up about a step on all your parts for the best flying. It really wont cost much more and in the long run you will be very happy with your choice. Good luck, mxerman

Updated List:
Park 480 BL Outrunner Motor, 1020Kv or Park 480 BL Outrunner Motor, 910Kv (Dont know that difference)
Great Planes Silver Series 25A Brushless ESC 5V/2A BEC
[link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=THP21003SPL]2100mAh 3-Cell 11.1V LiPo,16GA[/link]
APC 9x6 Thin Electric Propeller
W.S. Deans 2-Pin Ultra Plug
Same Receiver/servos
Hitec Y-Harness 6"
Balance charger to work with my charger and battery.
I think the motor and ESC come with bullet connectors, so I dont need them right?
And for the balancer. Is this what i need... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPUP3&P=M and http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMRZ9. I guess I need the adapter, because I choose a ThunderPower

My Feedback: (1)
KV is 1000 RPM per volt. So, 11.1 LiPo setup would yield 11,100 RPM at full throttle. The other one would be 9100 RPM at full throttle. The difference may be in the torque provided, slower may turn a bigger prop, but I am not sure about that. Maybe someone else can answer that for you.

Yes you have it right!! The 910KV motor will turn a larger prop at a few less RPM's and draw a little less from your battery. Of course that is less speed. Right now I doubt that either motor will make a difference to you. I would say get the 910KV for a little easier on your battery, but either one will be fine. I can't remember if the motor and ESC has MATCHING connectors. Order some 3.5 male and female bullets just in case. They are cheap.. Don't want to have everything and not be able to plug it together. The TP battery will be much better than your first choice.. You will need the blinky and a the TP adapter as you listed.. Looks good. mxerman

No, your charger plugs into the two wire main lead of your battery, the balancer plugs into the 4 wire balance connector.
The balancer works by measuring voltage on each cell independently and then bleads off voltage on any cell that is higher than the others.

ok, so it should work with my charger then. Now, should i solder an adapter so I can use deans on my charger? I dont want to completely change them, because my heli uses the connector it has now.

You will probably end up making a number of adapter cables to fit your battery collection as it grows. I put a Deans on the leads from my charger, then made a cable to plug into the Deans but output to a Z connector (for my transmitter batteries) and another one with a JST output (for my older NimH batteries) and another one with alligator clips (fir the battery in my field box) and another one with the ThunderPower connector for my buddies batteries (for when he can't get his Blinky to work).
(I have a Triton charger, for Lead, NiCd, NimH and Lipo batteries - and short adapter cables are really cheap to make)
