In response to your psot 180, Congrats! Sound like you experienced a little of the "pucker factor", that will wear off a little, but every time you maiden a new plane it comes back, that is why it is so much fun. Before ARFs when you first tried to solo a project with 100 plus hours invested and all your pride the pucker factor was even worse. Not tommorow or even next week but sometime in your RC career you will experience "brain freeze". You will know what the problem is, you will know how to recover, your brain will know the right resonse but just won't send it to your thumbs. It happens when things like you put the dual rates on the wrong switch happen and you realize the issue but can't compensate soson enough. Another good one is taking off without connecting the aileron servo, some guys can work through it but I usually have pieces before I find the rudder. Good luck you are well on your way.

The search is expected to continue today in an attempt to locate a small plane, missing since Monday night. Alpha One is a white high-winged airplane that was lost Monday night, shortly before sunset. The white airplane sporting red and orange trim is believed to have gone missing amoungs trees, brush, and dried swamp area, sometime around 8:30p.m. Monday.
Local squatter, Cooter Wills, told reporters, "Me and my dog 'Beau" were sittin' on the stoop of my trailer whaen I hears this airplane. Then we hears what sounded like a rifle shot and Beau runs under the trailer. The silence following the rifle shot was deafening."
Tuesdays much needed rain hampered search efforts, but Search and Rescue officials stated they anticipate clear weather for their intended search of the area today. Monday evenings search was called off due to darkness.
The low-time pilot of the airplane suggested that he lost orientation when the plane travelled between him and the setting sun.
He had no other comment. Workers at the airfield where the Alpha was based told reporters, "We have dealt with this airplane in the past....." They shook their heads and walked away.
A longtime friend of the pilot, located in Minneapolis Minnesota, was told about the incident. He responded by falling to the ground in a fit of hysterical laughter.

Please tell us the plane has been found! You are having to much fun to not continue, really admire your sense of humor and approach. Good luck, remember the trees are magnets to RC planes.

The area around Paul's field looks overgrown enough to make the "arrival" survivable.
I'm sure it'll be OK.
Last week, an INSTRUCTOR at Two Tree Island in Essex, where I fly, decided to look at the windsock and then lost his P40 Warhawk during the base leg. Inevitable stumpf into the bundu and although it was 400 yds away, and a load of us saw it go in, it took 6 of us about 1/2 an hour to find the model. Damage? Broken prop and one undercarriage leg wrenched out of the wing!
Still, I reckon Paul could invest in:
(a) a second model
(b) a lost model "shrieker" or two
Respects,
Carole

The search was suspended today for a small plane that was lost and presumed downed in Northern Wisconsin. Searchers had exausted all efforts and areas in which a logical search was to be designated. According to local sources, searchers included Mr. Ken L. Master, his future ex-wife, and Buddy the Wonder Dog.
"We are resigned to the fact that the aircraft has been lost. Like many aircraft in the northern states, it may be found by hunters, several years from now. We are simply baffled by how this plane could have disappeared," Master told authorities.
Authorities also told AP that witness Cooter Wills, his dog Beau, and their trailer have also disappeared from the area. A source within Law Enforcement, wishing to remain annonymous told AP, "We believe that there is a connection between the disappearance of the plane, the disappearance of Wills, and the recent crop circles in the area."
Before leaving the search area Master comment, "I'm glad my checkbook wasn't on that plane... I think I'll be needing it...."

Minn is correct...you haven't looked far enough out.......go as far as you think it went down...and add 1/2 again that distance...don't forget to look behind you as you go as an airplane can hide behind a tree.....Good Luck

Exactly. A few years ago, I came out to the field and a few of the guys were just coming back to the pits empty-handed, They said, "Keith's plane went down just behind that row of pine trees, but we couldn't find it"
They pointed to the far end of the row of trees and told me that's where it went down, so we walked back out there.
After a preliminary look, I said, "Let's go over to that other clump of trees."
They all disagreed that it was that far away, but lo and behold, that's where it was.
looking at the picture below, "A" is where we stand, "B" is where they said it went down, and "C" is where the plane was found.

Flying by myself one day I lost my trainer in a patch of trees. It had been gone for several seconds, and I was getting ready to collapse the antenna and turn the transmitter off when lo and behold my plane popped back up out of the trees. I do not know how many lives a plane has, but that had to use up most of them. Only the cows know what happened to that plane for those several seconds.
Moral of the story, go back out there and give it full throtle and full up elevator and see if it will pop up from the trees.

Ken, I love the way you decribe your flights and experiences trying to find your plane. Hope you do find it. Minn is right a guy at our field was flying and lost control of his plane and it crashed. We all wached it go down and when we looked for it, it was way farther out than we thought.

With all locals having given up the search for the lost aircraft, Ican Feindem showed up today in rural NW Wisconsin. Feindem is a retired US Border Patrol tracking expert with over 3700 locates during his 33 years of government service.
Feindem told AP that he read about the plight of the lost Alpha on RC Universe, the only web-site he reads. Moved by the heart-rendering encouragement from across the globe, Feindem said, "This is an opportunity to give back to the community. I arrived from New Mexico only this morning. There was noone around to brief me. I put my nose to the wind and walked straight to the Alpha."</p>
With no authorities around, Feindem collected the remains and placed them respectfully on the owners deck. "I hope this brings some closure to the matter," commented Feindem. Local authorities and the pilot were unavailable for comment.</p>

I came home today and found this on my deck.
Initial damage assesment;
Broken prop, both blades.
Nose gear missing.
Left main gear bend and wheel missing.
Firewall dismembered from fuse.
Both sides leading edge "softened".</p>
Fuse softened.</p>
Will perform post-mortem and assess totality of damages.</p>
</p>
