I have some pics of my Candy. The plane was produced as a kit beginning in 1964 by World Wide Models of Detroit. Slightly different from the pic in the gallery as the wing in this kit included wing slats.

Cas - Thanks for the updates. The list and pictures of the planes are good for another reason then just looking. This is the best reference for color schemes on the classic pattern planes we are building today. I always use the same scheme, RW&B.
Here is a couple for your files.
Thanks,
Crankpin

Hi all.
It's been a while since I've had an opportunity to update the [link=http://www.trentonrcflyers.com/pattern/pattern1.htm]image-base.[/link] I added 19 planes to various pages. Click on the Recent Additions link for a list of the pages with new picture(s).
3 Atlantas, a Tipo, Derringer, Kaos, Rimfire, Lancer, Cutlass Supreme, SBA, Intruder, MiniStar, Bell P-63, Curare, Deception, Candy, Calypso, and a Cavalier.
Thanks

Really Super!! I love the new Atlanta pics!! That guy did a really nice job on his airplane... [sm=tongue_smile.gif]
I have one of his shots as my desktop backround...A little Inspiration you might say...
He has a couple of small videos that I stumbled across...He's not flying in these videos but they are still really nice...

Hey Dave,
What an awesome looking Escape. I just happen to have a NIB Rossi Fire 61RE with header and pipe myself and I was wondering what I could put it in. Now you REALLY have me thinking. Thanks for posting the great pics...

Thanks David;
This plane was built by Ryan McLaughlin about 25 years ago and I got it 2 years ago at Graves. He flew it at Huntsville and liked it very much. If you will, check out XLT at this site. http://www.bridiairplanes.com/hangar/index.html . This would be perfect match for your engine. I don't want to hijack this forum, and hope moderater does not delete the bluejay site. I have their Dirty Birdy kit and it seems very nice quality. Will be building EU1-A soon with Rossi 90 FIRE. Might get XLT and Rossi 61 FIRE next. Have 2 UFO's flying now, and the Escape.

Hello casniffer
Would there be room on your website to store all of the scanned plans that have recently appeared?
It would be cool to be able to keep all the plans that people have in one place for everyone to download.
Cheers

Here's some old photo's of my "Sweet Taters" and "Super Kaos" Powered by a Veco .61 Perry Carb and Pump, Rhom-air retracts. The fuselage hanging on the wall in the photo of the "Sweet tater" is a "Beachcomber".

Tarquin,
I am not opposed to having plans on my site as long as it doesn't constitute copyright infringement. I thought about posting the ones I have found, but was concerned about which ones are free to distribute and which ones aren't. I have no way to confirm this and just because they are on RCU doesn't mean they are free. I'm not accusing anyone of any wrong-doing. I am just trying to protect myself and practice due-diligence. I looked at the information in the following link and saw some interesting information.
Works published from 1923 through 1977 without a copyright notice are in the public domain. Works from 1978 to 1 March 1989, published without notice, and without subsequent registration within 5 years are in the public domain.
I would not have a problem posting any plans that meet these conditions. I suppose I could include a disclaimer or simply link to the threads on RCU that contain the plans. The latter might be the best option right now.
Now, the question is where; in the description near the image of the plane or on its own page? Hmmmmm.

Thanks

Hello CAsniffer
I had a quick look over that web link you supplied. It may not apply too well to MK plans as they weren't published in the USA or published by a US citizen living abroad. Could the plans be considered architectural plans? I don't know if that changes anything.
It is also worth noting that the MK plans I looked at don't have a publication date or copyright symbol or note.
Anyway you should only do what you think is right. I would like to see these out of production kits get a second chance as scratch built models. One trouble with linking to RCU threads is that the free file share links lapse after a period if the owner doesn't sign in. At least if they are on your website they won't get lost.
I guess another way to do it is to keep a list of who has which plans. Perhaps someone could archive all the plans and then put them on CD. Actually I think Flywilly was talking of this a while back.
Cheers

Hi Tarquin & CAsniffer
That's right. Flywilly recently mentioned again that he was thinking about scanning his collection of MK plans and putting them on a CD. Here's the link discussing it (see posts 30 & 32):
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_81...mpage_2/tm.htm

Another option would be to put them up on a web or ftp site permanently. I agree with you in that the file sharing sites are not the best option.
I guess it requires a volunteer to gather and standardize the plans and produce the CD. Of course, the plans would have to be scanned in the first place but specs could be established for anyone wishing to contribute a plan that they haven't scanned yet. I would think that for most plans 300 dpi scans would be perfect (150 is a little coarse and >300 is unnecessary). By standardize what I'm thinking of is that it would be good to have the plans in both PDF and TIF formats - the former for proxy and full scale prints and the latter to allow alteration & editing of the plans in Photoshop/Illustrator/CAD to aid in scratch building. If a plan is contributed that is of quality higher than called for, it would be interpolated to the standard (e.g., 300 dpi). Plans that don't meet the quality standard wouldn't be included or would be in a "low quality" section of the disc.
A number of people come to mind who would be well suited to the task but it is work so I'm not sure how this would be handled. Perhaps a small fee could be charged for the CD to cover the time commitment. I may be inclined to volunteer for the task but unfortunately my collection of MK plans, specifically, amounts to about 4-5 at the moment [&o] - not particularly impressive. However, I do have access to a personal FTP site which could be used for the purpose of uploading and eventually, also, for downloading the standardized plans. Of course the CD's would probably be burned "on demand" and date stamped for reference insuring that they are always up to date. Alternatively, CD's could be burned when the number of new plans added (say >5) calls for a new round - perhaps monthly or quarterly. An index table could also be included.
I believe that CAsniffer has done much of the picture posting and classic pattern aircraft indexing already - could be very helpful. Actually, 2-3 photos of the model, if available, could be included on the CD along with the plans. Finally, reference to build threads here (and perhaps elsewhere?) on the model in question could also be provided along with sources of short kits available, again if any.
The main issue, however, is that I'm not sure how much interest there may be for such a CD or FTP site. What I do know is that I offered PDF plans of scaled versions of the Tiporare alone and recently, the download count was over 200 (including all versions). I also offered two-three days ago to send PDF files of plans offered by Pete (ppljr) by email since several people were having trouble downloading them and/or didn't know what to do with the TIF files. In two days I think I got about 10 requests! None today yet.
In any case, food for thought.
BTW Flywilly, any comments on this?
David.
