I've noticed different trims when I set the heli in different spots. What I mean is if I set it down and it's not level I'll have to trim the tail, and sometimes alot. I still don't move it a BIT until I see the green light. I look for the most level sight to start the Blade, it could just be me

Fella's,

I am sure this has been discussed before, but I don'y have the time to read through the enire forum. I just put the upgrade kit on today with the 3 cell 1200 lipo, and I don't seem to get more than about 2 feet of lift. The main motor is also incredibly hot even with the heat sinks. I have also not put it in idle up yet either but figured it should still fly with some ease in normal mode. It just seems to me that I was having a better flight experience with the stock gear on. Any help/advice would be great.

If you got new blades? did you balance and re track them?? also I read with
lipo's you have to re adjust the dredded 4n1 again. Un plug BOTH motors and
check the pitch of the blades. I would think with lipo's you would have great head speed.
I am not sure as I am determined to fly this parrott stock. ( with Lot's of replacement parts)

To try to sum up. It is still best to take off from a fairly level surface. The gyro initializes while the 4-in-1 is going green. It is designed to maintain rotation so if it's uneven when it initializes it tries to get back to that uneven state, so to say. Since we don't intentionally fly tilted, this doesn't include flips, rolls and inverts on purpose, the gyro is trying to maintain rotation at the point where it initialized. It's my understanding that the pro is wired to accept an HH in line without any other modification, however the stock bcp is not. You have to disable the built in gyro in order to go to HH, which basicly means going separates. I personally plan to go BL with a Telebee HH gyro. It's small and light and very capable of handling the blade. A freind of mine has one on his Trex and although it may be limited for the size of the rex it seems to work fine for his level. Some times if your bird acts wierd when you boot up, just disconnect and let it boot again.

By upgrade kit, did that include the 8t pinion? You may have too much head speed for the pitch.

I did get the new motor. And after I posted that last one, I thought to myself "I should check the tracking." And of course there was a big difference in the blades. Then she flew fine so to speak. Now, for some reason, she has a tendency to veer to the right with left on the trim. But as far as the motor, it still gets pretty hot.

I have an 8T pinion, flat blades, and 1320 lipo. My main motor gets too hot to touch after about 10 minutes, but does not seem to lose any power or anything. I have 1 E-flite heat sink on it. I think I will add another to see if it helps.

Be sure to use thermal paste on your heat sinks. Also, make sure the heat sink 'hugs' the motor can tightly. If it is loose, take it off, and pinch it gently but firmly between your fingers to tighten it.

Hello again. Went to the rc world farewell fly in. It was nice. Lots of people showed up and lots of airplanes, and one heli lol. It was still fun though. I am uploading the videos, so they'll be up and running in a bit.

I have the 9t pinion Bob. I just took everything back to stock, but then I smacked my coffee table pretty hard and think I bent the main shaft. I will have to wait till I get home from work to check it out.

well since i have the cp pro it will already basically have "seperates" so i can plug the HH gyro in line with what it comes with stock...eventually id like to go brushless with all seperates but in the meantime im just gonna get a HH gyro...does anybody have any experience with the telebee or a link to it? id like to check it out...or maybe ill just end up with the futaba gy401...which is amazing that it costs half as much as this little heli alone lol...happy flights guys

Did you trash the blades?? If so and you have new ones, balance and track them. If they
won't tract properly, you probably bent the main shaft and or spindle.

Bob,

I took it apart and cleaned and inspected everything. Put it back together, tracked the blades and she flew. Now I just have to go back to square one with the 4-in-1.

By any chance did you mark the 4n1 original locations *(PPPPPP) or remember where they were??
If so great and go SLOW.

But as far as the motor, it still gets pretty hot.

James
If the heat and humidity are anything like Michigan it will get hot, quick. I run Two heat sinks on each motor with paste, run the 9T with aero upgrade, carbon blades, and TP 910's or 1320's. I fly 2-3 minute flights, come down let it cool off and go back up. I check the motors darn near everytime I land and they get HOT even after such little time.

Zooland1, marineatbn, orlbuz

Hey guys, I called Horizon today about my servo not centering problem. I put on a new
servo and a new 4n1 and it still won't center all the time. "Chris" at Horizon said
he would ship me a new TX out today. That should solve my problem.

Thanks Chris @ Horizon support.

At least I did not have to ship my 4n1 back and wait several weeks to find out it is/was
the TX. Grounded for a while longer, just do not trust this old Tx.

Bob,

Bummer to hear about you being grounded. I know the feeling of having to look at it everyday and not be able to fly it. Hopefully your new TX will come in soon. Till then, just watch the military channel or something. LOL.

Hello. Replaced the main shaft and spindle on the cp today and everything runs smooth now. Took it out today by orlando international and had a blast doing fff. Even did a couple of stall turns.
