Hey guys I will be ordering a Blade CP soon, probably from horizon. Anyways as a nebie to helis what parts do you think I should order with it. For now I am limited to $300 so I was thinking Blade CP, 2 spare stock batteries, 1 crash kit, a heatsink for both motors and all that comes out to 285 with shipping. Is their anything else I should order as well or you think I should change? thanks guys.

Quick question about the sound the blade makes. I just tonight upgraded to the carbon blades and also at the same time took the weights off the flybar completely. I've got the blades tracking perfect now (better than the woodies ever did) but now when I spin it up theres a little clicking sound. click..click..click..click. It's not really loud but it is noticable. There is no vibration in the heli at all and everything moves very smooth. It's very responsive to the controls.
I was just wondering if this clicking is normal. It seems to be coming from the head. It's definitally not the main shaft or the motor. I have a little play in my blade grips. I've had that since the beginning. My buddies blade has no play but mine move just the tinyest amount. I think my spindle is just a smidge to long.
Thanks
EDIT:
Never mind... I took the blade grips apart again and put in some new o-rings that I had from a replacement head I bought (for the spindle only. Please E-Flite put the spindle in it's own part bag). That seems to have gotten rid of the play completely. The clicking also went away. Now it sounds just like it should

This isn't really a huge deal, but I just finished re-assembling my Blade CP, and noticed that even with the battery as far back as it goes on the holder, the heli now likes to lean forward alot more than it used to. I was wondering if anyone has an idea as to why, all the parts are on, it flies, and I know I have everything in the right spot. The only thing I could come up with is maybe when I put the tail boom on I put it farther in then it was.. I'm not exactly sure what has made it change farther forward, and ideas? Like I said it's not really a big deal, I just used to have the pack most of the way towards the front of the battery holder, and it was only slightly forward.

You are in the initial stage of flying a heli. Keep the traing gear on and slide around for awhile. Don't rush this process too much.

hello, i'm probably getting a blade in a couple of weeks and have a couple of questions:
-if mine comes with the clear 4 in 1 i don't have to do the sticky collective mod?
-how waterproof do you think it is?
If i fly outside there will most likely be about two feet of snow and if i crash i wouldn't want to fry my electronics
I could probably put the 4 in 1 in a water balloon or something like that to help.
Thanks

The 4-1 isn't sealed at all. I haven't flown my blade in the snow yet. I did fly the fp I had last winter in the snow. I would just make certian to blow out the electronics before any snow that might have gotten in had a chance to melt when you bring it in. I have a small air compressor for that sort of thing. Following that, I would put the heli near a heat vent to make certian it had dried completely. Worked great last winter and I'm waiting for the crazy amount of wind we've had here lately to die down. I've got about 14" snow right now which makes for a great emergency landing zone.

The clear 4-in-1 does not necessarily mean you have the sticky collective fix. My Blade CP has the clear box but I had to do pull apart the blade grips and swap the washers around b/c I have the old blade grips. Blades with the new blade grips come with an extra page in the manual that say something about it (can't be more specific, I've never seen the page).

I got one ( just a short while back) and it has the three bearing grips, BUT it didn't have the STICKY COLLECTIVE problem fixed,, Unfortunately, the washers they use on the outside location (just under the cap screw head) now have a smaller diameter hole and DON'T fit over the shaft. (feathering spindle) When the washers were swapped, it left about .060 inch (60 thousandths) of slop or play in the blade grips. So The guy at the local hobby shop located some shim washers that would (fit OVER the feathering spindle), this seems to have fixed the problem, good lluck with your blade,,,

I have a bcp with a clear 4 in1 and the S75 servos. I have an insert sheet in my manual that says it has(had) the 3 BB upgrade(not their words)
after bending the Spindle, I think?? it only has 2 (TWO) One on each side of the blade grip with a spacer in between(brass colored) The same for the other blade grip.Hmm

As old is this thread is I don't know if the guy(s?) from E-flite are still posting/reading in it, but if they are I have a suggestion...
Having to "reboot" the 4-in-1 unit to make rudder/throttle mixing changes take effect is a PITA. I know I turned the darn thing off/on at least 25 times before I got the mixing "just right".
If possible I would suggest getting rid of this "feature".

To all Blade CP'rs
I am having an issue with my tail motor. I was hovering with no problems, then suddenly, it seemed to lose power. I changed the motor, still the same. I changed the wire, again same problem. When it lifts it just spins and I can't stop it. What the hell could it be? Anyone.

Grosporina,
If you have brass spacers, you have the 3BB holders. There are two sets of bearings on the outside of the holder right up against each other. You can't see them unless you pull the holder apart. The 2BB holders have a chrome colored spacer that is longer (at least that is how my 2BB holders were setup). If you have the 3BB holder, you should not need to reverse the washers from what I understand.

my bcp came with a manual that shows 3 bearings in each blade grip on the parts page. (no added seperate page) the last item shown on the replacement and optional parts page shows "bell mixer upgrade kit BCP - EFLH1170"

Quick question, are all of the Esky heli's parts compatible with the Blade?
Helihobby has them all listed together and they all look about the same so I would assume they are compatible, but I just wanted to check.
I'm wondering about the main gear/shaft in particular, the Esky one looks to be better made and it's cheaper, will it work correctly with the blade? (last item on this page - http://www.helihobby.com/html/ESKY5.html )

I know this does not exactly answer your question, but I put a esky bell-hiller head on my Blade-CP and it worked fine. I used my blade holders and shaft from the CP. I got great detailed directions on what I needed on this board. So the shaft diameter must at least be the same.

Should i be concerned about the roll/aileron trim being near the extreme left for steady hovering? I'm using the 8t motor, 3s 1320mah lipos and the flat blades are close to needing replacement. Thanks.

Make note of the attitude of the swashplate, then disconnect the links, center the trims on the transmitter, and adjust the links so the swashplate looks the same as before. When you're all done you should have a level swashplate. Good luck!

Well, my Helihobby aluminum swashplate arrived today. On visual inspection it looks good, and the all the parts move smoothly and freely. I'll try to get it on tomorrow (decorating the house for Christmas with the wife tonight). I'll post a pic also.
