Hi,
I'm a new CP owner and am concerned that the blades should be balanced. Could one of you experienced fellows point me in the direction of an appropriate tool for micro helis?

They make a small balancer, but if you're cheap like me, you can make one very easily. Look at the pictures in my gallery and you can see a very simple tool made of thin aluminum and a 2-56 threaded rod. Details can be found at bladecprepair.com.

Hello

Has anybody tried the cnc frame for the blade from helihobby.com. Im not sure if it would be too heavy or if anybody has any input on it. It looks nice and pretty rigid. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Scott

Help! I just got a used Blade CP and have a take off question. I can apply full throttle and we are not going anywhere, just spinning blades. If I just apply a small amount of forward flight, up we go like a rocket. If I do the same thing on 1/2 throttle, little forward trim, it starts to take off just right, but if I stop the forward trim, down we come. One paddle bar was slightly off. Any suggestions? Thanks

Remove the canopy, unplug the motors, and operate the throttle, see how things are moving. At no throttle, blades should be level, and as you raise the throttle above 1/2 way, positive pitch should be added. You may want to hold the flybar level while doing this...

I haven't tried it myself, but through the forums all the response I've seen has been negative. Other than being heavy, some have experienced serious glitching. Maybe somebody else can post who has had a positive experience. I haven't seen any.

Nope, negative here. I got the frame, it sucks. not really all that heavy, but very very glitchy and the servo mounting sucks.

Here's what I'd try.
Check to make sure the throttle and throttle trim are set to 0, all the way down. Then turn everything on. If that doesn't work, try re-seating the crystals. If that doesn't work, check you battery voltage in the transmitter. If that doesn't work, go to the link ILO64 gave.

I found I had to lengthen the blade pitch control rods (the rods that connect the blade grips to flybar control thing). I suspect they come from the factory with a bit less pitch than they need to fly properly, to keep newbies from shooting their heli to the moon the first time they spin it up.

Thanks to all for the help. Upon further review, I think I have some major problems with the CP. When I apply right or left aileron, both the rear servos lift. According to the instructions, this ain't supposed to happen. When I apply throttle, 2 servos or moving. Any ideas? 4-in-1 Nuts? I think I'm gonna have to take it all apart and rebuild. Buy used, get what you pay for. But any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I'm tired of stealing my sons Lama2.

rambosmurf,

Check your channel and servo connections maybe? Front to channel 2, right rear to channel 1, left rear to channel 6. Worth a try

Sounds to me like he has the left servo pluged into #5 instead of #6> I think thats what mine did after I read a post and tried #5. Didn't work .

Also check that your reversing switches have not been switched from the factory settings. Ail and Thr should be in the NOR position, and Ele and Rud should be in the REV position.

Again, Thanks for the help. Upon further review. It appears that I have a GWS Picco std servo on the left rear. E-Flite on the other 2. The GWS is working backward. Anybody have a Functional Heli Gunship, because I want to strafe the previous owners house. Would a Esky Honeybee servo work until I get the correct one from E-Flite. Again, Thanks to all.

I have an interesting senario... Just put new servo's, and swashplate on my BCP. When I went to set the head up, I see that even the new servo's have about 1/16" play in them, so I wound up having to adjust the swashplate height by making the link adjustments when holding the heli up by the swash as if it were hanging in the air by the blades and paddels. When I set the height by letting the swash rest down against the servo's and linkages, I didnt get enough lift to get it off the ground without excessive stick. My VNR3D has almost no slop in the servo's, swash and inkages, and the BCP has new stuff. What kind of nonsense is this ? Dennis

The GWS will work fine. All you have to do is reverse the switch on the TX on channel six. Also make sure the signal wire is to the inside of the RX.

Dennis, did you get e-flite servos? I don't have any play in any of mine. Maybe you got a bad batch.
