Get the BCPP if you are going to get one. I learned on it and did not have any problems with the stock set up. (now I am after the new gyro and spektrum and DD)
The lipo is great! (for a stock pack) I got like 20min. flight times.
Any ideas if makeing the servo travel limit +/- change if it wags? My idea is if it is less the gyro won't over correct and make it wag. More might make the tail move faster making it faster so it could keep up with the gyro. I have no idea what I am saying... It could not even affect it at all but what the heak. HELP ME please.
Any suggestions +/-?
Thanks,
Justin

I just joined the Blade CP Pro club. About a year ago, I started with helicopters with a Blade CP from my LHS and I was hooked. I've flown a bunch of other heli's since from 90 size Nitros to the 400 size Micros.
Now that its winter again where I live, I'm back to wanting to fly indoors so Blade CP Pro seemed like the best choice.
It seems that in stock form, the CP pro just flies better than the older CP. The tail seems to hold better and the heli seems more stable. This is what I've found (of course the Blade CP I'm comparing it with was crashed many times when I was learning to fly) but Eric Balay says something similar in his review here on RC Universe of the CP pro.
Wondering if others are finding this too?
I'm really pleased with the Pro. It flies great inside and I'm anxious to get it oustide when the whether warms up to flip it.

I finally finished reading through this thread!
I've been flying my BCPP for about a month now.
I can hover fairly good.
Learned with Radd's
I just had my first boom strike the other day. The Plasti-blades hit the boom pretty hard and cracked it. I can still fly with the boom until I figure out how to mount the Ti tubing that I have for the tail boom. With that, I should have no more worries about the tail breaking.
I'm trying to get rid of all the little quirks that this heli has. The TX seems to be a pretty big hinderance as well as the stock gyro. I just upgraded the gyro today to the G90. What a difference!!
I am looking at the Spektrum DX6 to replace my existing radio. What are people's experiences with this TX/RX. Easy to set up? Durable, etc...?
Well, that should do for the first post. I've been lurking long enough I should post sooner or later

Karl, Welcome to the thread! Lots of good reading!
I had the same experience with the boom strike just this week. I cracked the boom and so I just wrapped the area with poly fishing line and then covered that with thin CA to keep it all in place. This worked really well. My opinion is that with the plastic blades, you are going to break anything that has less strength. Unfortunately, that would be the tail boom!
I am glad to hear another Yeah for the G-90. I plan on upgrading tomorrow when I get my allowance! LOL

I just got the spektrum not that long ago and I love it! using a rechargeable battery is nice. The Rx is smaller than the stock and lighter. The little antennas are easy to mount. (Mine are just looped in some of the other wires so they can't get into the gears.) The short antennas on the Tx is cool too. If you have never used another radio (besides the stock) then you will be impressed with the features.

Speaking of non stock radios. I have been flying for a while and am using my 9cap with my BCPP. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out the correct curves for this heli. I am totally new to heli's so while I know my radio, I have no clue, the correct setup.
Thanks!
Thanks!

New to the forum as i have flown my first heli a cx-2 today and found it suprisingly easy to fly and manuver. I have been wanting to buy a heli but was not sure of where to start until I had the chance to test my skill. The CX-2 belongs to my brother so I have use of it whenever i want it but really want my own so I am looking for opinions of where my skill level should be before I purchase a CP, CP-Pro or something similar. Any and all would be appriciated.
Thanks
PS. Tax refund is buying the bird so Price\Brand is to a major factor, I want something good

I agree with Zope_pope,
The Trex is a much more stable bird. I was at my LHS today and asked the kid behind the counter which bird was easier and he pointed out that the Trex SE was easier to fly than the CP or CP Pro. It just has more stability! You have to pay for this quality but you won't be let down when you try to fly her.

Well, I smashed by tail boom to bits today. I blew the drive end bushing out of the tail motor as well.
I think it's time for something better. What are people using to replace the tail boom other than CF?
I also need an opinion on a tail motor upgrade. I'm looking at a few options:
1 - DD w/ small prop
2 - DD w/ large prop
3 - EDF40 tail mod
4 - HDX300 heli w/ spektrum radio and brushless, then return the blade CPP to stock and sell it.
The DD tails are cheap to build and are supposed to hold fairly well.
I would like the extra stability that comes with a belt drive tail, but I don't want something the size of a Trex 450 quite yet.
I plan on going to a DX6 radio anyways, then for an extra chunk-o-moolah I can get a baby trex. The only real problem I see with that heli is the availability of parts. At least with a HDX450 you can chuck some trex parts on the machine when you mangle it.
Has anyone tried this heli? Do you like it? love it? hate it?
Thanks

Ok this is my final problem. The key to fling again...
My gyro (g500t) works now except for one thing. When I use it the tail "wags". I know I know, this is because your gain is set to high. NO the tail has "surges" even if I hold it steady on the ground. The tail goes fast then slow. It happens it both modes (standard and HH) I have set my gain to 10% (40% is recomended for BCPP) and it wags. I tried the old gyro and it works fine so it is not the ESC or motor. The travel limit pot did not do any thing (I think). Please help me... Why is it doing this?
Thanks,
Justin

So tell us about the wing tote bag. How do youlike it? Is it roomy? Does it keep everything organized? What all can you put in it?
Can you put two helis? Say a CPP and a Walkera 60? Tell me more-- tell me more!

I like it a lot! It has a hard shell in four pieces that you install in zippored compartments. The shell is laminated with foam on the side facing in. Yes, it holds the heli securely and the cut outs seem to fit the stuff I have well. The stock E flite charger and extra lipos. There is a large pocket on either end that holds tx and other stuff. I'm wondering what would happen to the gimbals if they got bumped. It just a thin foam pad and cordura to the outside on the TX pocket. There is a zippored pouch for extra blades. I don't think you could get two birds in there. And it holds one so safely, I wouldn't want to mess that up. Nothing's going to happen to the blade. Its got hard shell on all sides and top and bottom, with foam and plenty of space. We fly in gyms and open spaces in the local university. Often these places aren't open when we want to fly. So we split up, searching through buildings for a flying zone, talking on cell phones. A little exciting at times. Anyway, this case will make those adventures much more elegant. I just got it today, but it looks very promising.

Thanks! I can picture you walking around with pockets filled with needed items such as extra Lipos and holding the bird and radio and trying to talk on the cell phone!!
#1094
exactly! Last time out we actually got disoriented in one of those huge buildings, no windows and hallways and stairs. So this other guy and I are holding the phones and heli stuff, yelling to try and get a bearing on each oterh. pretty funny. I've got some wing tote wing bags for my Giant IMAC planes. They make a good product.

Does any one know what the sub trim on the ger channel with the DX6 will do to the gyro? (the ger channel is the remote gain channel)
I think the travel limmit is gain ajustment but what is sub trim for it?
Thanks,
Justin

Yes that's the canopy that I have been looking for. Thank you, do ya think that it'll be alot tougher that the stock one? And what do ya think about the weight?
Thanx again

Just found it for you! The weight should not be a factor and anything is better than the plastic fantastic canopy. I guess it depends on how hard you are planning on crashing it!
