i got DD installed, no chance to fly more then 2 or 3 min b/c of extreme wind but even in that it seemed to be flying better...i couldn't get the stock tail to simply pull off with ca debonder, instead, i cut it, with wire cutters no less...o well it'll work, you can even tell now, i'm just gotta have to go find some heatshrink tubeing to make my solder joints nice and pretty. o and i have been expreienceing the same spining on hard throttle moves but hopefully the dd will change it at least slightly.

i think full brushless (long can 5300kV geared tail with hh) can be worth every penny. now my skills need to catch up with it.

Well guyz it's been fun! But after crossing the line to a T Rex ... the blade has to go! Yep, I'm selling out.... the rex flys so much like my Raptor that I'm sticking to it and the Raptor.. and parts are almost as cheap cheap as the blade . But I sure learned alot on the Cp...
I hope this is legal here ( if not I will delete it) Ebay Item number: 120080326221 you guyz have fun .. I know I sure did!!!!!!

Do you still have the 3into1 in your CP pro, and if you do, what are you using it for?
mykul812, helihobby has added some brushless motors to their inventory haven't they! they need to post kV's for those feigao motors though, otherwise you have no idea what you're getting (ok, we know the short can is 5300kV, but the long could be 4100, 5300, or 5800kV). here's where i got my feigao's:

(they throw in a phoenix 10 for $36 with the motor!)
goplaneman, after playing with my current setup, i'd have to say you should use the stock geared rotor with the long can brushless instead of DD (it'll save you a $1 on the prop too).

I think I lost my DD motor today. Either that or the solder joint went bad. I didn't crash, though. I was only a couple of feet up and able to just do a piro landing. The revo mixing was just starting to get dialed in on my 9C, and i changed lipos, took a break and then went at it again. It was a couple of minutes into the second flight that the motor went bad. Oh well, time to heat up the soldering iron....

Does your current tail work alot better than DD, or just easyer to set up and cheeper?

btw, i reprocessed the video to get rid of the dropped frames. it's already uploaded and relinked if you want a better view of those punchouts and whatnot.

berg's are great little recievers for the cp. not sure about the radio or how to set it up though, since i don't have that one. i'm running a 9c (w/ synthesized module) with a polk seeker 6 rx.

myk,
no, in a gym
Guys, it wasnt the motor after all. Its the 3 in one. I replaced all wires to the tail motor and re soldered everything. When I plug to t motor into the main motor plug of the 3 in one it works fine. When I hook battery to the tail motor sodler connections it runs fine. There is nothign coming out of the 3 in 1 to the tail. Do I have to buy a whole new 3 in 1?

i'd eliminate all other possibilities first, like the rx or programming. is there something coming from the rx to the 3n1? have you double checked to make sure there aren't any weird mixes turned on by accident?

It sure sounds like the 3-in-1, bummer. If your absolutely sure, they're about 45 bucks.. Had one go bad months ago.

Trug,
I replaced the stock crystal and tried it on the stock tx, hoping to eliminate any programming/mixing problems. Same deal. *sigh* I'm thinking maybe I should go separate and eliminate the 3 in 1 in favor of more quality components. But that's actually some heavy bank 'cause I'd need a gyro and tail rotor esc. The intelligent thing to do would be go brushless all around like you said in the other thread, but I have to decide if I want to spend that much on this little guy. i mean, I started a thread in another forum about our little Sunday flying sessions. What I left out is that getting on these spaces involves a good bit of cloak and dagger work. Today we managed to get in a gym used for cricket for about an hour until we got kicked off. A couple of weeks ago all we could score was a raquet ball court. We've come to enjoy the hunt as much as the flying. A few slightly hung over dudes, sneaking around the athletic dept of a major university, packing tons of E heli gear while shouting on cell phones,"where are you? " "All these floors look the same." "score! this door's open! third floor guys!" Today the guy with the trex was doing a funnel about a foot off the ground and ran into a matt. I thought it was pretty funny. He didn't. So since we're short on space, always looking over our shoulders and basically goofing off, I think I should just get the 3 in 1 and keep costs line with planned use. All of us fly bigger more expensive aircraft once it gets warm. So the little guy is, well, the little guy.

lol, that sounds like so much fun sneaking around the university to find a flying room. too bad i didn't have my heli in college, i knew all kinds of open/unattended areas where we could've flown. instead my buddies & i were going out to the fields surrounding arco arena (home of the sacramento kings), to drink, smoke, and fly our nitro planks. back then we were having fun shooting for record laptimes and aerobatics flying low and fast; in our case the best airplane usually won, not the one that was least painful to crash. either way, i'm sure my buddies & i would enjoy running around with you fools if we were in the area.
i know what you're saying about spending so much on the little fella, but it's just too cool to see a midget blade screaming around with a trex attitude. then again, your buddy with the trex would be laughing at me when i wreck.

yeah, you're right. And the blade is soooo smooth. I've got a brushless motor and esc I bought for my NR3D but decided to save it for a more noble project. Maybe this is the one. I still think I should just get the 3 in 1 now and then this summer start adding on, little at a time. I can totally see myself tricking this little sucker out. But my Rappy 50 is just about done and its begging for cool gear. I've had 4 raptor 30s but never a 50 so I'm stoked.
The trex guy wouldn't laugh. He's way too nice. Thats what makes it so funny when he crashes. Probably the best heli pilot I've ever known and he has to take his lumps too. Maybe we should start an internet club for helis like the probros. (I'm an active bro, btw). Then we could have events in different cities, trying out our James Bond moves on the local finest. fast cars, night vision goggles and pretty ladies. It could be fabulous.
