I think I got to have the 400 for $399.00. Maybe by the time it comes out I'll be able to do forward flight! Ron

Rick, I really hope that your luck swings a 180 degrees. When things get better you'll appreciate it that much more

I had a great day at a local club. I maidened a Edge540t with a Saito 82 in it. What a amazing plane, at only three flights I was tearing it up. I smashed a E-flite Brio by pancaking it in inverted I couldn't get a pitts S2C running right so I didn't fly that, ( extensive rebuild tonight got it right and ready to fly). I left the heli's ay home but I got a chance to see two T-Rex 600's fly. These choppers are incredible, I've never seen a battery this big before. There were amazingly stable.

God Bless B.O.B.'s

questions :

What is T B E ? ------- ( mrasmm)

The only one who appreciated the SPILL is Mr. BEAU who promptly went all over the tiled floor and licked up the whole mess. Now I am trying to figure out how he could do the walls and the ceiling.[]
hehe, figure out that and you could be the next millionare =)

lookyj has already got it taken care of it looks like, but yeah TBE is toilet bowl effect. Basically the lower rotors are giving more lift than the upper rotors =) I dunno that I would mess with it though, because you can make it so the heli wont fly if you don't flatten the blades just ever so slightly on the bottom or give them ever so slightly more curve on the top. You have to do it just right or the heli wont fly [X(]

good to see you back in action again =)

There is a fellow in Paris, France, who is very unlucky, almost to the point of writing a book about it. He is known as JEAN VALJEAN ...... are you related ?

Ohhh, but you see, Jean Valjean was also a very blessed man!!!
But yeah, that's the alliteration!! I'm a singer. It's a role I hope one day to play, God knows i sing it all the time. For any musical people, I was blasting it in a room in my music dept singing along with red & black, and one day more, I was BELTING high A's (tenori!!!), it felt SOOOOOO GOOOOD.

Buuutt..... back to the heli's!
Here is a simple clip of me tinkering. Go check it out, and come back here and tell me what you think.
Here is the description:
Hey all, This is my CP with gws DD tail. I'm just setting it down in the kitchen to trim it out, do some adjustments, etc; and when I give input to rotate the heli, sometimes the motor is turning in spurts. It starts to do this at 10 seconds. When it does start to do so noticeably , I'm just a bit away from full right input on my left hand. Anyone know why? Thanks.

Thanks all. See you in the morn.

I got an absolutely beautiful ZERO wind evening. I just flew 3 batteries out, very nice flying ot there. Got a little nose in stuff going at 15ft, flying a little pattern, some piro's, some semi-highspeed to and fro....just awsome. This is where you can put it in a hover and it'll just hang there kind'a evening without touching the sticks.

Stock transmitter habits: In what I thought was glitching sudden jerks to the right and forward on many occasions...it was NOT RF interference as I originally thought. Further dinking around I discovered that the problem was in the TX it's self. In addition to the jerking forward and to the right.....the throttle side also has a "glitch" where you completely loose throttle and the motor cuts out momentarily (dead spot in the POT). The pots in the stock TX for whatever reason get "dead spots" or a build up of crap in them causing havoc in the heli. Right now...for now, NO glitching is happening because I cleaned the pots (drown them with contact cleaner), and the problems go away. It's nothing more than "you get what you pay for" going on here. If you replace all the gimbal pots with better quality pots....the problems will go away completely. I've had 3 stock Tx's do this on me yet Futaba nor the DX6 have ever glitched like that. If you experience a hard jerking to the right/forward (makes sense), or your throttle has momentary cutouts....that's what's going on.

That makes a lot of good sense Crash. When I get a glitch my heli shoots strait down, no left, right, forward or back. I'm not sure if the motor slows but the pitch takes a nose dive. I've done a lot to the heli to makes sure the ant doesn't have problems, as far as the trans: nothing. I noticed when my batts in the trans got low I had more problems.

Right on and thanks Vic[8D]

God bless B.O.B.'s

Since pitch is directly associated with the throttle (and I've noticed the same thing as you but slightly), that the pots for the throttle are causing it. YES...low batteries are a BAD thing...it can actually ruin the TX. When I have two green LED's out.....I quit flying and go charge it up (yes, I made mine re-chargeable...saves money/time/space). The DX6 and Futaba aren't bullet proof from failure BUT...they are made with better quality components reducing the incidents of failure.

So I went to the LHS, and showed them my tail thing, Crash i think it was you who PMed me,(its late) You were right. motor is rawing too much amperage, so the tail is getting it in bursts. siiiihg. dont know when im gonna get the replacement, but will i burn anything out by still flying it? I'm just doing hover training, so spinging for me, does it matter?
Thanks guys,
-Gene

I have been glitched to death. Someone well be hurt by a runaway CP Pro. I fixed mine by getting a DX7, problem solved. If someone cleans the CP Pro Tx they should post pictures of the procedure.

the DX7....

one of the better upgrades for the CP Pro. I love the fact, that I can fly all my Helis with one controller (CX2, CP Pro, TREX).

Crash - good find on the Tx glitches. Never would have thought to clean the pots.... once again, you've proved that fact that if something can go wrong..... you've probably had it happen to you.

The weird part is.....I've had it happen on 3 out of 5 stock TX's of which one stock TX just completely burned out (throttle side). To make a temporary clean, shoot contact cleaner into the pots where you see enough gap to get it to go in, and cycle the pot several times. It sould dry leaving no trace before applying power to the TX. I suppose if you had to...drill a hole in the pot casing being careful not to hit the mechanics so you can get the cleaner in there. Running the batteries below a certain point on these stock TX's will also ruin them. A DX6/DX7 is the best solution as you mention and adds another $200 to your investment but as you say... you can fly many aircraft on one radio...just buy more RX's which are less than the price of a stock TX. I found a DX6 on EBay for $149 shipped which included the TX, and AR6000, battery, and charger which is all you really need.

And YES....anything that can go wrong with these heli's.....I've seen it at one point or another, which I guess makes me an authority on the Blade CP series AND the HBKII....pay attention Gene (LOL).

Gene...the only problem is in that if you want to fly (hover) it like that...you're pushing fate. Possibility of having a mishap about triples (I've been in the same situation and decided to fly it anyway with BAD results). That's your call. If your comfy hovering it like that, it's up to you.

Glitches are good! If you can hover with them, its like the perfect storm, you can hover during anything! You don't even have to get use to wind! Its in the perfect storm. You've got it all!
